Well fantastic to see WIP shots. Love the GSC, guess it just one of those things that for some reason everyone finds them cool, they are just brilliant models, and when painted well like your work they become really special. HG guys looking spot on too, really nice.

The terrain is looking amazing, love the scheme you have going on, and I WANT those statue dudes, going to have to do my own though, because I will cast a couple hundred up I think. For some reason I think og them being everywhere in 40k. Kinda reminder, big brother is watching type of thing. Always tempted to give them one red glowing eye!

Good thinking using dark skin for more alien cultists. What colour are their uniforms going to be?

Libby is shaping up to be awesome. (surprise!) Blue, red and yellow is going to be an interesting visual, but i'm sure you'll make it happen.

More stuff for Whaley? How much have you done for him now? Scorps look fine though at the moment and I imagine even better when finished.

The new terrain kits GW are coming out with are excellent and I can't wait to see what yours look like when finished.

I finished all the models I got last Tuesday, so i'm pretty pleased about the quality of them especially as I haven't painted any of them before I was going for a dusty underground lair kinda look to them, serviceable and solid armour and weapons and a very alien countenance they probably are a bit more purple than I had planned but I think they're pretty striking!

I will now bombard you with copious pics to peruse which I hope you like!

First up the Patriarch and his Stealer children.


Next it's heading down the scale and the Aberrants, these big brutal bastards look sure to break some face!


Next bunch of purple kids, at least they can wear some kind of clothing!

Beautiful work Damo you snuck your metal recipe in there with the suits and the lovely glow of the flashlights on the shoulders is awesome. Also loving the dirty white robes.

Thanks guys, I was pretty nervous but like the end results. The purple skin was a bit of a trial and error as I had a few ways in my head to approach it, it's bright and would be great on a luminescent Tyranid force! I'll have a look at my paints and write down what I did.

Also if anyone wants to look up my dog Oscar Mallinson on FB (suprise, that's me online) i'll send through pics and paints for the yellow!

Yep, finished another Howling Griffons Character! I got Librarian Mercaeno done in his Terminator armour and looking really cool, something about the pose and that bare head just appeals to me a lot!

I need to wait for more paint to arrive before I can do any more on them sadly, and i've not got much else on to be honest, just 2 testers for Whaleys Scorps and my building so if you need a couple dudes done hit me up

but while you ruminate on that I want to showcase this guy, i'm really happy with him. I know the pics are almost the same but I couldn't work out which one was clearer?? my damn eyes are gak when i'm not painting.

I agree, very impressive how you've managed to incorporate the Librarian blue into the HG scheme.

Thanks guys, I wasn't confident to do the entire model blue and still have the same feel as the rest of the models but was inspired by the approach I took with Whaleys Libby from SH :-) and really liked it!

And thanks to Gits superb terrain update on his blog for Bushido! I went back to working on the Sanctum! thanks Gits! :-) might have some tomorrow to show you.

Thanks fellas, and here's an update on the Sanctum, still a bit messy but it conveys what I want to at this point. I know next time I'll be painting the panels separately and gluing them together so i can actually get to the parts and paint the details neater. but she's coming along.

Ooh dang that is great looking terrain. I always find myself being a bit lazy with that stuff as a super quick paintjob can often look pretty good but you seem to be proving that it can look so much better!

Librarian looks awesome as well. Great colour scheme you've got going on.

I had another idea

I want my Space-Mortalis board to reflect the glorious battles of the space marines so I printed some suitably sized images from google and thought i'd see if it would look o.k on the tester I think they'll glue on and weather up nicely!

I like the idea, but the imperium would NEVER allow pics of chaos marines to exist as that would mean that corruption of the pure space marines is possible . Hide the people from the truth they are too stupid to handle it .

Oi, this is my battle barge and if I would like my brethren to be reminded of the filth we wipe from the galaxy then so be it! :-)

Really love the artwork on the wall. There should be a plaque below it commemorating the battle... or is that supposed to be a window?

Finished the Sanctum of Prioress Kristy. and I must say that while it's not as crisp as i'd imagined, i'm still pretty happy with how it works as a model! I reckon it'll be a great backdrop to some epic battles

not much to say about process, it was a trial and error as I mentioned before but it was a lot of washing and dry brushing and a few more focused parts and it just kinda came together I wanted it to look more recently destroyed, mind you that could be hours or weeks or months in these infernal wars so the colours are still there and it's more dirty than destroyed.












I think i'll do some of the smaller ruins next and have a little area of scatter terrain to match the big building?

Looks excellent. Your idea of "Not Crisp" is amusing yeah, Def some scatter required, if only to see more of your lovely work.
