I know no updates. SignsPoint has been yelling at me every day to fully paint 600pts so we can get a game going. But this weekend was busy. Lots of stuff this week as all 7 of my packages should arrive minus the forgeworld stuff. So that means progress on my army, video reviews for some of the products in the COOL TOOLS thread and 2 weathering systems I purchased that are cheaper and more available than the MIG pigments. So I hope to have about 3 videos done this week and some painting on my guys. Videos: Layer Blending- Sword, Review-Paasche Mini Eraser-sand blasting, Weathering- 2 kit comparison.

Just to let you know that things are still in the works...

-Had to strip one of my land raiders and started working on it again. Cut out a design with the craft robo for the side and I'm loving that machine.

-Painted the flames on a couple guys to get the hang of it and so far so good. Just takes a while for each.

Can't really make out the details on the guys in this pic but when they all get finished up I'll provide the necessary "close-ups".

I always thought Les had some sort of Gattaca(I hope I spelt that right) like enhancements that made him paint so well.

lol.

Anyways nice job Les,love the freehand.Keep up the good work.

Thanks! But I have to give all the credit for the design crispness to my Craft Robo cutter. It cut the design, I put it on the LR, dusted it with white primer and colored it in with red But I plan on adding skulls around it in different sizes whick will be freehand for sure

The design looks great - and your endorsement of the Robo Cutter had me intrigued...

And then I googled it, saw the price, and cried... :(

Hehe, well I got asked to do a tutorial on freehanding the symbol and that tutorial would consist of "buy a Craft Robo, cut out design, place on mini, spray, done." So instead of NOT telling you what I used it was best to drop the name to avoid the inquiry.

Yeah - I looked it up too.

I don't think I can get my wife into scrapbooking so that I can justify buying it!

Well if you have a design you need just contact me and I'll see what I can do for ya

The 3D insignia from my tutorial placed after cutting sections for door and body lines. Working on armor plating using the same technique. I'm pushed to see the extent of what I can do with this stuff.

Alrighty, I made some simple armor to test out my method, added some rivets and air brushed the bits black. I like it

Going to go wild with the design now I know this method works. You could basically take all the measurements of the whole side of a vehicle, sketch it out, cut it into the clay and have a true custom. Even if you want those mural inlay sculpts and you are good at sculpting, just cut out where you want them, and use the cutout as a base for the sculpt. Rambling.... but this is exciting to me

Also every vehicle I measure out in detail will have the diagram to download on my site. Sorry, I'm the sharing type heh.

I love the job you did here, but it has always bugged me how much the little things above the lascannons look like tau battlesuit heads. It doesn't look too bad on regular SM Land Raiders but on Chaos it looks like the dark gods got lazy. Are you planning to convert those or leave them the way they are and paint them awesome?

I plan to leave them as is. They are cameras, and to make something of an undead head with lenses for eyes, and tubes from it, going back into the LR is a bit out of my sculpting abilities. ><

The thickish sculty works very well for a Chaos theme.

OH come on typhus. You know I'll paint him up good again. He was stripped because I was going to sell him. But then decided to repaint. Plus the old onw didn't have too much contrast and was a bit fleshy. He needed more green

LOL - I agree with the repaint, although he does look good now!

I would have thought you would get more than retail for him as he was painted - especially considering the levels some consider "pro-painted" on fleabay!

Hehe thanx TMT.

@wrex- Yeah the green is just the base. I've done about half of the first highlight today. This guys has folds, cuts and all kinds of stuff you don't see until you pick one to highlight and realize theres 6 more little ones around it. Color I'm using for the first is bubonic brown and rotting flesh mix. So the green is just in the recesses. And even that might go away since I plan on using dark purple and blue as a shade in glaze form. But we'll see

Taking a pic now so you can see the un-kermit version taking form heh. BRB
