Yep, couldn't tell you a thing about rules or tactics, but how can you not love those mega-bolters?
What you really need is a stormlord, the macharius type with twin cannons (forget which it is), a punisher leman russ and some kind of chimera conversion using the baal predator turret. And maybe throw in a few punisher armed vultures while you're there.

Well I am tired of messing with the plaza , so I decided to make my chimeras. I figured I needed to walk away from the plaza before I break it I know this is a terrain thread so I will not ad to much about my IG army here but thought you may want a look so here you go
One is already painted so you can see the color scheme I am doing on the chimeras

Hey, vehicles in a terrain based thread is perfectly fine with me, until you make youself a separate thread involving your armed forces, perhaps? And what's the canister on that one chimera? It looked for a second like one of the old fuel containers that came with the metal hellhound, back when i got mine, but it's clearly not.

I am happy to hear you approve I will not be adding much more then these past few updates that is not a terrain based. I have always hated the lasgun ports on the chimeras so I plastic card(ed) them and covered them with bitz, The canister is from the battlefield acc pack GW sells. http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat440156a&prodId=prod1095504

Speaking from personal experience, it is easier to just out all your stuff in one thread than to put them into separate ones (though that may just be because I am a lazy and eclectic in when and what I paint/model ).

Thanks for all the comments. I have decided on the next terrain project. I am going to make a cargo port with train tracks. Imagine a loading bay, cargo area lots of fun bitz to mess with. I am not giving up on the plaza just lost inspiration for it. I am going to paint the tanks a bit before starting the cargo bay. I will post my progress on the tanks and look forward to starting the new terrain piece
As always thanks for ready and commenting

Stormlords have way more guns and are very cool. Personally I'm not a fan of the landing pad (though it can look good when combined with some of the GW building sets as a kind of roof top platform).

Hello there madmartykmf, may i call you Mike?
As you can see i am new to this forum. And i have been reading and looking at your gallery for your city of death and i've had great fun seeing your progress! Everything you have made so far looks amazing! I am at a really early stage of making my own city of death and browsing through your thread has given me many great idea for things i could include in my own city! So for that thank you!
I also had a few questions to ask if you don't mind answering for me please?
1 - You know the tiled floors that you have used when making your water pump station and your gothic graveyard idea, i was wondering where you got them from?
2 - Also if you purchased them from somewhere, is it a website?
3 - And finally, if it was from a website, do they ship to the UK?
Thank you for your time, i have saved this gallery to my bookmarks so i will keep reading it and adding my input for you! Also thank you for an replies to my questions etc.

Too late I now own the skypad and the space marine statue. I have to say I am not one to gush over GW product but that kit is really ace!
Thanks for the input Silver, it is always heavily considered

Well Nifty you may call me Mike if you wish and make yourself at home. I am flattered that you like my little city o death!
So here are the answers to your questions:
1) They are GW Fantasy movement trays http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat440151a&prodId=prod1095472
2) Yes here you go
3) Yes see above
They are great but limited by their size. You can cut them very easily and make a base for what ever size you need. Most people use beveled hard boards that you can get in any size and for really cheap at a lumber mill or hardware store. I do love the trays because with little effort they look like concrete city blocks I will have my RoB board done pretty soon and will incorporate roads. Should be pretty fun Stay Tuned
Thanks for the interest and the comments , keep um coming
Mike

I could go for a copper or bronze, though the cracks on the shield lend more of a stone-like appearance, unless you gs those over. You could conceivably make some sort of granite or marble look with him, which would also work, given the symbolic purity inherent in Spess Mahreens!

Hello there Mike!
Thank you for replying to my questions they where helpful! Seeing as your first answer basically answered all 3 of my questions in one haha!
I really like how you have set your water pump station and graveyard out! Also i love the altar and shrines! It all looks really good.
Also, i know it was quite a long time ago when you did the water pump station, but i think the zombie was a real nice detail added!
I really liked the look of the movement trays because of their concrete block look. I believe it would make my city of death look more realistic! I mean o far i have brought and made up the GW Imperial strongpoint, Imperial sector and sky shield landing pad! I have other useful products i have picked up from other stores that would make the city look great too!
Oooh, that sounds good, i'm rather looking forward to seeing the RoB board! I would like to include roads into mine as well. I also have an idea to have an abandoned train station area on mine, with bits of broken track and a broken station.
Thanks again Mike!

@ Nifty - If you want textured plastic, check out "sheet styrene" - quite a few companies sell various sorts with everything from tiled roof sheets to metal hatching.
Also, take a look in doll house making shops, as they often have great things that you can adapt to 40K, including some flooring/etc.

Hello there Silver, I have just checked the sheet styrene out, and it looks really good for what i would like to do! I like the look of the metal hatching, it would be great for flooring for some of my buildings.
Also, Silver, do you know stores in the United Kingdom that would be selling this? Thank you for your help!

WOW Silver , your Mr Popular on my thread Silver does bring up a great point http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/175993-.html?m=2 and http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/149436-.html?m=2 is all dollhouse flooring. The place I ordered from has horrible service, but his company sounds pretty good and offers international shipping http://www.minishop.com/
This is one of the easiest things you can do to give your terrain a ton of depth. One thing I would suggest to anyone planning on using this material is cost. After shipping the cobblestone I used cost $22.50 US
Just food for thought
