Damn son, that's a fantastic job.

You're clearly demonstrating your skills go far beyond painting greys and reds. Well done sir. I love the realism in the painting. A great mix between realistic carapace and the flesh underneath it.

@York - Thank you!

@LDP - Having played against him once in 7th, the prospect of battling it in 8th is very daunting, even more so with a slick paint job (It does mean I'm much happier to remove my models when a well painted model is doing the killing)

@Gits - I'm not saying I have it down either. I feel like I mucked up the main head horn in terms of look, I had an idea in my head and it did not translate well.

Grey and reds are a staple in my painting pallette, blue is also in there I need to work on it. Green however is a really problem for me!

Update: On to the Red Terror next, bit of a terrible model in my opinion, its a real pain to get paint on it.

@Gits - Haha yeah "Red" Terror indeed, Kraken was the first time it was seen, so it got the red look about it, Swarmy and Old One Eye were Behemoth so got blue. Deathleaper was Leviathan and gets purple.

Like how the nids skin looks mine never has that organic feel to it. How large of an army are you painting?

@Cam - Thanks, I might have to think about doing a large force in the coming years, they are really quick to paint and I think look pretty nice.

@York - Just the 4 specials at this time, my brother *may* ask me to paint up more, but its not been talked about just yet so who knows

Update: Dark red applied to the carapace (this guy was first seen on a Kraken invasion)

Sorry if this has already been covered, but what's the reason for a different chitin colour on the swarmlord?

@LDP - All down to my Brother, the base colours, skin and base chitin are to be the same across the board, where as the highlights on the chitin represents which Hive Fleet they were first seen in.

Update: So Graven may know this base of this model, it was part of the big bundle I got from him a number of years ago

I have to agree with the others on your Nids. Love how realistic your carapaces look. Cracking good job.

Oooohhh i like the kitbash with the contemptor bits on your Grey Knight Dread.

My only concern is that they may look a little small on the box-naught

@Azalle - You and me both buddy, looking forward to some grey love again. I also will share in your concern about the arm sizes, I suspect I wont use this guy to much due to having a lot more awesome dreadnaughts in the army, but having this load out seems to work well.

@Graven - Yeah, he got a bath, dried off and now looking to get dressed now

Followed by a Captain with a sword swap, head swap and banner top swap
