@York - There have been a number of times I've wanted to live in the states, Adepticon, players here on Dakka, cheaper models (NZ costs are insane) to name a few. Maybe in another life?

Update; Started applying colours to the Stormraven, took fricken ages!

Your metallics are turning out really good on this model! Is the bronze just a bronze color with silver edge highlights, or did you drybrush Necron Compound (or something similar) to get the weathered effect?

@Zerg - the Bronzes are warplock base, purple wash, warplock layer again, hashut copper edge highlight, mithril second edge highlight. I try to do zero drybrushing on the sea of Grey., its usually reserved for quicker to paint armies

Update: Working on the reds, add some sqiggles and we can call this done

Nice! Looks great. Yeah, before I read your update I glanced the picture and it looked unfinished, but I couldn't pinpoint why! All the paint stages were done, but of course, papa squiggles has the name for a reason.

@Graven - I tried a lighter approach to the squiggles this time, will be interesting to see how it plays out.

Update: that moment when you finish the Stormtalon and sit back happy with your self and spy a brown blob of a base on the desk and realise there is still some more left to do...

While I've never been a fan of doing canopies on flyers that way (I leave mine clear so you can see the pilot), you executed it well. Indeed, the whole ship looks great in your color scheme and squiggles!

Update: So this weekend was a bust, literally, I busted my ankle so I'm in a cast, can hardly walk and on some pain meds meaning painting is taking a break till I can manage it. Unhappy Knightley is unhappy.
