@Graven - Truth is I have been hopping everywhere, and I am totally over it!

@Zerg - So the TL;DR version, I was playing airsoft, my body went one way, the ankle another, boom.

@Cam - I have been working from home with my leg up resting (as per the Doc's recommendation) I tried sitting at the painting desk, but it ended up to painful so I've put it on hiatus at the moment.

Update: So I've tried a couple of times to paint, both have not lasted more than 5 minutes before it was to painful. Today marks 2 weeks so this cast is coming off stiches removed, new xray and new cast put on. with the new cast it might be more tolerable.

Hey knightly just slogged through your back log, great stuff. In older editions grey knights were my nemesis. lol. When I did a sea of silver (I painted iron warriors >.< I thought I was gonna go nuts I do love your knights. my favorite model of yours is your helbrect conversion. sorry to hear your leg is up hope it gets better soon man. hopefully they gave you some awesome pain killers or at least prescription strength motrin to keep the swelling down.

take care buddy

@Bama - Consider me impressed reading through all this nonsense and I also like the Helbrecht conversion it was one I'd been waiting to do for about 4-5 years when I came across the metal version. Stoked you like him!

@Private Benjamin - Welcome to the blog, enjoy your stay, shouldn't be to much till I'm back painting again.

@LDP - Hey buddy, yeah still in the cast, but its due to be removed next Tuesday and then I'll see what I can do! Enjoying your BA's btw

I'm not dead, honest.

So its been a very long time (in the fast paced world of painting blogs) since I've had anything to show.

An update on my ankle first, after a long time in a cast, then a moonboot, I'm now able to walk around well enough, standing for medium periods of time is still a no go, sitting at a desk is uncomfortable but its a pain I can tolerate which leads me on to the next update, paint has been applied to a model! I do have to say holding a brush again was like greeting a long time friend after being away, so good.

Proof I did a thing

Wonderful news! It's great to hear from you, even if the healing process is still underway. Your injury sounds properly debilitating, it's a real bummer. Here's to an even speedier recovery and some therapeutic painting sessions to help along the way. It's going to be great having you back in the plogosphere - Dakka really hasn't been the same without you Very eager to see some crisp and grey work flash across my computer screen again.

@Zerg - I mean technically I hadn't left, I just had nothing to share, but its good to be back

@LDP - I always had that light at the end of the tunnel, in 2 months I'll be painting, then in 1 month I should be painting to now where now I can say "yesssssss, painting!"

@Nev - Thanks man

@Gits - The body is care of Graven so thats a ton of fun, the arms.... well they are spares from my own contemptor so not as fun

@WarbossDakka - Cheers!

@Graven - Thank you, this one is a tribute to your model you sent all those years ago.

Update: A few more base colours applied.

That's a work you can be proud of after so long away from the brush! He'll slide into your force perhaps more seamlessly than you think. It's bold to return with a dread I think he looks super neat! Maybe i'm biased because I really like the custom GK dread sculpt. Anyway, i'm looking forward to what's next in the pipeline.

@LDP - Thanks buddy, I guess I wanted to just paint one model that wasn't to large (like a knight or my Gulliman/Draigo conversion) and not to small like a chaplain.

@Zerg - Cheers buddy, there are some 'large' models in the pipeline.

@Graven - Oh but of course

Update: Apologies for the delay I had done some painting this week, just forgot to take a picture, but here is some scouts with the base colours completed

The long shot of the scouts made me wonder what heads you were using. First glance looked like bug-eyed aliens or Greys. Close up made a lot more sense once I zoomed.

Was a little worried about xenos corruption.
