I love the tiny bottle and paper debris! For my own stuff, I use tiny fragments of paper, toothpicks, and foam as a sort of industrial debris. For me it isn't meant to be identifiable as anything other than generic decay, but I think your use of what look like discarded cigarette packs and other consumer garbage works much better, especially for a Necromunda style setting. The place feels lived in.

I really like these details!

Inspired headswap on the negavolt Cultists! is it a UV paint you used on their lamps?

Hey hey, so not a great start to this year...
I did try to do a recap of everything I have done last year, and an updated paint queue, and a plan for the year, and lots of other stuff...
So much stuff that I got overwhelmed and did none of it...
Anyways thanks for the kind words everyone and yes Gobert, I have been adding UV/fluorescent paint to anything that is supposed to glow. I keep meaning to get a UV light to help it pop in photos.

First up is the Bean Bag Cat from Statuesque Miniatures:

While it seemed fine when I painted it, I'm not happy with this one, the more I look at the photos the less I like.
The paint is too thick, seams look wrong and the stiches are awful especially when I compare the model to the others that I've done.
I think I'm going to strip and repaint, it doesn't feel like a fitting tribute to the late Sushi Cat right now.

Also from Statuesque, I got the Letters From Habernagerie (no cloth goblins) and Ghosts of Yellowfield House sets for Christmas, so I better start prepping them for painting soon.

Speaking of Christmas, I was gifted a wet pallet from Army Painter as well as some paints, maybe I should try practicing with them...

+++

More Christmas presents:

Another terrain crate from Mantic, this time some gothic scenary. I immediately hid from the family and started painting these with both Beorht Nobles and D&D in mind.

+++
Beorht PDF are done for now:

Going for a more "Realistic" approach in that there are no bright metals where posible, and giving the weapons a mix of "bakelite" and green polymer furniture. I think I may need an edge highlight of Leadbelcher to make a distinction between the black polymer body and the metal painted black.
A shame that thier magazine pouches aren't very visible after all the effort that went into them.

Also on Beorht, Zakharov gets some bodyguards:

Should make it totally obvious that he's really a well known Techpriest.
The weapons are Hellguns with covers over them to keep the real weapons scheme going and let everyone know they belong to the Adeptus Mechanicus...
They got some modified Zone Mortalis bases:

Gives them a nice "I work in a lab" vibe whilst being similar to other Beorht bases

+++

Back on this blogs namesake, Necromunda, I got some of my (admittedly small) Forgeworld pile of Shame.
First up some Phyrr Cats:

First one had a nice hunting pose, so I tried to find some sort of underhive "grass" for it to be stalking around.

They're just drybushed White from Celestria Grey with the red being brown/red contrast mix. I then came back with some really thin grey paint (Glazing?) to help the shadows and a thin wash of Brown around the feet.

Next up, some Sheen Birbs:

I dislike the current flying bases so tried to have them flying around bits of scenery.
Also broke and lost the legs off the bird carrying the rat while prepping the mini so I left some visible pins to fix it.
They're all pinned and surprisingly sturdy.

Guilders Scal and Coss of the Guild of Coin got rebuilds:

They're a bit more distinct now with Scal (Left) having a pistol and Coss (Right) having a baton and cuffs. Mercer (centre) got some extra washes on his face.
Despite being very similar, these are full rebuilds with the original models broken down to provide few bits. Pouches and weapons are from the Enforcers, arms are old Cadian, legs are mauled Catachan. I think the stun baton is Skitarii...

Last of the Necromunda denizens today:

A Representative of the guild of power, thinking of calling him Sweb...
He's the guy in charge of the two Lumen headed Servitors on their hunt for Pinger
Chaos cultist body, the one with flamer and big hood, he gets some Negavolt cultist bits and a nomad backpack and some green stuff straps.

And finally for this update:

Been putting together the ruined ZM set that I've had since it released.

Also mixing in the ruined wall sections I made a looong time ago to help it stretch.

I spent quite a while getting this wall to be collapsed in the same way as the column, and in hindsight I maybe shouldn't of added the rubble pile to the floor as it looks a bit silly when I stack it on something else...

+++

Plans for the future?
Hahahaha
I do have one of those Palanite/Elysian buggies but I'm currently unsure what to do with it.
I'm thinking about painting more Palanites, but I want to tone down the amount of Hazard stripes they currently have.
I do want to pick up a Valkyrie at some point for my Beorht PDF.
Got some Zone Mortalis terrain to paint as well as like twelve of the tiles that I should really start on...

Hey hey look what I found buried in my notes:

What Miala saw:
With its claws that tap
and jaws that snap
its Milisaur!

With the leathery slap
of wings that flap
its Ripperjack!

With its pitter-pat
and chittery chat
its Giant rat!

With its web that traps
and bite that saps
its Spider!

With its vine that wraps
and then you lapse
its Strangle weed!

When shotguns rack
and lasguns crack,
Look out! The gangs are back!

Amazing update Guardling, so much variety it’s hard to keep up! The furniture looks really cool, did it come painted or is it your own handy work? The ex-Cultist turned out really well, he’s disguised quite well, but still loves a big gun. Sorry that sushi didn’t turn out how you wanted, hopefully it’s second time lucky

The ruined ZM stuff looks really cool, but yeah, if you intend to stack the piece with the floor rubble it may look a little weird, unless you have a bit of ruined flooring to sit under it.

That looks like a serious number of kits that you bashed together for the Pinger

Well that turned out not to be true...
But we're here now

Yep even I'm not sure of where all the bits are from...

Thanks! I've been planning raised 3x3 platforms for a while now, so maybe I'll actually make some...

Thank you, I had started painting them, top pic was stuff I'd finished, bottom is stuff I haven't.

So first things first, I barely remembered to actually submit Pinger into Scumathon under Hottest Hiver which is for mainly civilians.
I could of also submitted her under Most Storied as she features in four of my stories now, but there'd be too much outside context.
Also I forgot.
She's got a bit of fluff on her sub, but I'll save reposting that for when she's painted...

+++

So with that in mind we stay on Necromunda for the rest of this post;
First up I have painted up my ruined terrian.
Two story wall:

Short wall:

Corner:

Ruined wall transition:

Mural and gate:

And as an added bonus:

My fourth floor tile out of, er, sixteen?
If it even counts as a tile given its mostly sump.
Unfortunately I ran out of the lovely dark green foundation paint I have been using so that's gonna put a hold on the two future sump tiles I have planned.

+++

Sheen Birds done:

Started with a dark grey drybrush over black and then layers of grey.
Underwings got some purple and blue ink for a slightly metallic shiny look.
Metals are my usual Mournfang/Leadbelcher/Nuln with some additional Dirty Down rust in spots
Quite happy with them, a fine addition to my bestiary...

+++

At some point earlier in the year I went and spent to much money in my FLGS and heres one of the things I got:

I'm prepared to call them finished but I am tempted to add some more colour, maybe hazard stripes...

The other thing I got:

Yeah.
Painting the inside before I carry on putting it together.
Interior is Steel Legion Drab drybrushed up to white with some Celestria Grey panels, canopy is dark grey...
Tried using a green contrast on the seats to be lazy quick but it does not look very nice, will paint over it next time I remember...

+++

I had a Goliath Truck that needed fixing:

The railings had completely snapped off so I made a new set from garden wire hiding the dodgy joins with some fabric tape.
While I was at it, I did a bit of weathering with one of the texture paints seeing as it had a very dry matt finish

+++

Finally I put some base layers on this Escher lady:

That's all for now, see you next time
