Its white earthenware, when it dries its white anyway. Well off white, but it shows up the transparent colored glazes nicely. I can do various colours and I also have a lovely celedon crackle glaze. Google it it is lovely.

terracota has brown because it has a high iron content and it stains stuff

and done the google hit and run and as it happens to be the aforementioned faire i also baught me a mug back then which happend to be of that celedon crackle material/color tone something^^, which i actually really like...saw some like bonechina thin cups once in a shop window...really nice stuff...

well I havent tested it yet but its meant to be a very very pale green - it is nice on the pictures.

Similar to a lot of Chinese pottery? Very nice.

Take it the test firing went well?

Yeah it works anyway - It went up to 1050 degrees, just to make sure it works and burn off any remaining moisture and chemicals. So next time I can actually put ceramics in it! I will do more work tommorow and at the weekend and hopefully have finished stuff

so may i ask if you ever served? i was specially told how to hold a cig and how to use it when in full gear in the night. and if done right noone will see it...and with a pipe its way easier to conceal the glow...

honestly even if i am not really a smoker whoever is unable to outwit an enemy from afar (if he is known that is...and in darkness the night is full of enemys...period!) is supposed to be shot...

Heres the days progress - these should be fired late tommorow and then glaze fired on sunday maybs.

The pots look really good , i like them all , but i think if i were pushed i would purchase the purity seal one. they really aer nice, and i like the fact that each one is a diffrent shape. look froward to seeing the rest of the process.

I feel the same about everything neil101 said, though I prefer the Elf / Eldar one...

The eldar style symbol could do with being neatened up so I might go back to it tomorrow and carve it a little, and the skull too. But I'm right pleased with the purity seal.

as every one is entiteld to his/her own opinion there lies the dangerzone...

i do like the aplication of the prity seal the best too...i think the skull with horns look good but couldn´t imagine myself drinking from something with or made from a skull...so thats something i would rule out...but i guess most people wouldn´t object to that...
the eldar/elf design is to my opinion not done yet too...dont ask me what to do or add as whimpy elfs never were something for me...
but to make it all the more complicated i like the sahpe of the eldar mug the most...
see what can be made more complicated? individuality is something that the emperor has clearly spotted as a heretic behavior and thus suspended ond abolished...and rightly so...

Let me know if you have any ideas which you would like to see on a mug. Its early days yet and these are very quick sculpts so critisism accepted - the shape of the edar mug is my fav too. It seems everytime I am up at the studio somebody wants me though - I feel busy for the first time since uni and it will be hard to spend as much time up there as I would like. My dream is to have a studio down the road so I can walk to it and back. Petrol will only get more expensive. Need to do some painting now... Maybe an adventurer.

when i discovered 40k for me the chapter symbol of the DA i saw the similarities there...

if i was to suggest a totally new design then i would strongly suggest dark phoenix´s symbol...on a mug!

I suppose the phrase relates to my friends habit of getting on car bonnets for ermmm sexual activities when a teenager. Errrrmm but I'm only guessing

Personally I like the shape of the purity-sealed one, looks like the kind of mug to cup in your hands on a cold day, has a more tactile feel to it (or at least that's the impression I get from a photo on t'internt ) Having said that, in the last pic with them all upside down I prefer the shape of the eldar one, guess I'm just a contrary SOB (err, not the adeptus sororitas)

All sorts of things you can use car bonnets for - just ask an ork

Vik - don't think I can honestly say I served, a couple of weeks basic in the RAF, then 6 months flat on my back in the med centre.

My nights work - he is done with washes (except the face and eldar pistol) he will ben done with some highlights - and I'm thinking of giving his boots red laces

Err, the red & green laces don't really stand for anything as far as I know (Although no doubt someone somewhere believes they do) More a kind of obscure reference to peeps wearing different coloured laces back in the 80's, maybe with a dash of punk thrown in to liven up the mix

does a little fem now its painted. purple jock strap lol he /she is a kinky one..! myabe a hermaphrodite inquisitor seeking out mutant heretics because he she is secretly ashamed of he she's own bi gender. the purple and midnight blue sit well together, i like the bone one the shuriken pistol and flames style colours on the flame pistol, for some reason i can immgaine stars and cresecnt moons on its hood or pants.

thats secretly the whole point about the inquisition...
