Very very good. Definitely my favorite Spider-Man movie. Make sure you stick around thru all the credits for the second after credits thing. Super worth it.
There's the fancy credits followed by an extra scene, then the long scrolling text on black credits followed by a second, and imho much better scene. Finally a few last credits and it's done.
Hah! I sat there like a fool through Wonder Woman's credits.
I saw Spiderman: Homecoming last night, and really enjoyed it. A little heavy on the high school comedy side of things for me (but then I was never a huge fan of that genre in general), but I thought it had one of the most interesting bad guys in a Marvel movie. I liked how it ended, although the combination of a night scene, flames and flickering lights made it a little difficult to follow at times.
I remember back in the day I saw Iron Man with my gaming group. Credits went by and I was like WTF is everyone still sitting here for. Then Sir Jackson happened.
The Vulture for me is probably the most intimidating MCU villian in and out of costume so far. Michael Keaton crushed it the whole movie. I can't wait for more MCU Spider-Man.

My friends and I cracked up when Cap'n 'Murica came on in a PSA about..."Patience".

I was wondering where I knew him from. Spiderman vs...Batman!

I didn't like it. I found his friend incredibly annoying, and the "MJ" surprise was a complete change; in person, appearance, attitude...everything. The Scorpion and Shocker Easter eggs were nice though.
I liked him in Cap 3, but I guess this Spidey is best in small doses.
Toby Maguire is still #1.

Most nerdy high school guys are actually like that (recently at least). Well, I'd say they talk more. His friend didn't bother me. I think people forget Ned is supposed to be 15-16, moderately socially awkward, and nerdy.
MJ has been done to death. We don't need Mary Jane again. It's a good point of separation from the Raimi films and the comics. I don't know why MJ is so iconic.
The only way we can ever solve anything is to look in the mirror and find no enemy

?!?
Maybe MJ isn't relevant or important to the new generation, but she's a pretty important part of the whole Spider-Man mythos, and plays one hell of a big role in Peter Parker's life!
Michelle, up until that point, was a very interesting -original- character. She was bright, funny, her humour was very dry, and she had a very clear character arc (set herself up as an outsider who doesn't like these people, but she actually desperately wants to be friends with them).
Then suddenly, at the very end of the film, they change her into an existing Marvel character.
Not sure how she "turned into" anyone else at the end. Her initials are a little in-joke for the long-term fans, that's all. I suppose it depends how she appears in any subsequent films.
Thankfully, this one wasn't yet another origin story for a character everyone knows about already.

Michael Keaton absolutely slayed that movie, I don't think I would have liked it much without him. I'd give the film a solid 7, but only because of Keatons portrayal. I thought the first Andrew Garfield film was the best of the... holy gak, 6 spider man movies we've had so far. Jesus.
Civil war is so far the only phase 3 movie I really like. Hoping Thor will really wow me in November.

I agree on Keaton, he made the movie.
Spoiler:
The scene where he is driving Peter and his daughter to homecoming was really intense
. That being said Holland held his own too.
Spoiler:
The scene where he was caught under the rubble was also very intense and sold his realization of how dangerous hero work actually is
I love the way Toomes figured it out. It wasn't convoluted, it wasn't a blood drip falling from the ceiling, it was just a man putting 2 and 2 together.

Haven't seen it. Is he playing this as a bad guy version of his Birdman, or as Batman?
-"Wait a minute.....who is that Frazz is talking to in the gallery? Hmmm something is going on here.....Oh.... it seems there is some dispute over video taping of some sort......Frazz is really upset now..........wait a minute......whats he go there.......is it? Can it be?....Frazz has just unleashed his hidden weiner dog from his mini bag, while quoting shakespeares "Let slip the dogs the war!!" GG

Don't want to say where or how like, because spoilers.
You mean the YouTube "Badman", making fun of Nolan's Batman right? Yes. Absolutely.
Also, when I get a computer in front of me, I'll type out my full response as to why I disliked the film. Even going so far as to say BvS was a better movie.

I liked it a lot. The sidekick was a bit annoying at times, Flash was not particularly convincing (he didn't seem to be good at anything and certainly didn't look like a jock) and MJ was pretty grating, but Keaton was outstanding and Holland put in a solid performance as a kid learning to be a demigod. The pacing was pretty solid and never felt like it was dragging too much and they kept a good mix of humor and intensity. There were a lot of cultural references and pokes at the genre, which I loved because it never descended into outright corniness (I didn't dig the overt silliness in the Raimi Spiderman movies, especially the Venom treatment but also thought the last Spiderman outing took itself way too seriously, despite being ridiculous). I liked the inclusive cast, which looked a lot more like I would expect a NY public school to look like, as opposed to the whitewashed prep school look that many casts have.
All in all, it was a solid summer superhero movie that managed to avoid telling the whole spiderbite story again.
Alrighty, so here goes. I have a computer now and can type out. Everything is in spoilers for those of you who still want to see this film. For once though, I can heartily agree with the DC white knights that it feels like the critics were paid to put up good reviews. This was awful. My wife was excited to see the film (oh yeah, I got married last weekend), and she walked out going "what the hell was that?!" Both of us were very disappointed. Okay, on to the spoilers.
Spoiler:
Let's start with Spider-Man, who we've all met already in Cap 3, where he did an awesome job. The quips. Here, they were close to non-existent. You know the whole idea of talking to distract his opponents and to try to fight off his insecurity? Gone. Garfield was the best with the quips, I'll grant, and I can admit as a Toby fan that he was lacking behind Garfield. And he was still better than Holland with the quips.
Then there was the suit; the one he had no issue with in Cap 3. Now he can't use it and screws up every time he tries to do anything more than walk. Even before he removes the safeguards that were installed.
He did however play the most convincing teenager.
On to the support cast: Flash, MJ, and Ned. bs. Flash was supposed to be a jock, a football player, and a physical bully to Peter. This Flash is a scrawny, little Indian kid who is on the debate team and knows how to say the word 'penis'. Oh, and he's a DJ. The guy who is supposed to bully Peter in school calls him a penis. Whoop-de-doo. Antagonist in school? More like background noise. MJ-the girl every girl wants to be, the girl every guy wants. She's not even Mary Jane; she's "Michelle". And an angsty teen. She insults people and is moody. I mean, I guess both versions are female, so they got at least one aspect of the character correct. On to Harry. Oh, wait. Doesn't exist. Enjoy Ned instead. A fat, annoying kid with a stupid hat. I hear he's Miles Morales' friend from the Ultimate universe. Let's have Peter's friends help him grow as a character, not a second string replacement's friends. And Betty Brant (Okay, this is nit-picking) is supposed to be an older woman crush for Peter, when he first starts at the Bugle. Pretty sure she hasn't grown out of a training bra yet. She's younger than he is. May was fine, and Tony was Tony. Nice to see Happy get some more screen time too. They were fine. Support characters define Spider-Man. And this is the biggest section cuz it was the biggest shortfall. The friends all sucked. Only Liz was worthwhile.
The bad guys: Keaton did a great job. It wasn't his fault he was a recycled Green Goblin. It really hit me when Adrian Toombs was shoehorned in to be Liz Allen's dad. Not step dad, however: you can tell Liz has mixed parentage due to her skin. Mommy is black, daddy is white. Fine, no sweat, no big deal. But no relation to Keaton until we need the bad guy to be a dad to Peter's friend (there you are, Harry!). Vulture is like Green Goblin without the powers. It was like watching an updated version of the very first Spidey movie. He could have literally had no relation to Liz, and been perfectly fine. But between the reveal that Toombs was the father, and the BS handling of MJ, Flash, and removal of Harry, it felt nothing like a Spidey movie.
Was nice to see Scorpion and Shocker make tiny cameos though.
The good: Keaton did a great job, Shocker and Scorpion cameos, Tom was a convincing teenager.
The bad: everything else.
In all sincerity, it truly felt like they were trying to make the most politically correct Spider-Man story ever, by straight up removing every friend Peter has and replacing them with new people who were of different ethnicities. They did succeed in that. But I truly feel like they lost sight of everything that makes Peter Spider-Man.
