@rsjake - thanks matey!!!

@1-i - I'll just have to make more effort than I did on my first dread, maybe add some more bitz to it.

@Ishkatar - If you want to add that style off leg to your ven dread, you could use sentinal legs then beef up with armour plates! Glad I could inspired you!! don't forget to blog your progress

@graven - I've got one thanks, I'll see how it looks on the model. What sort of idea did you have?

Mostly, on my phone.

Off the top of my head, flatten down the blade edges and add strips of spikes, either home made, salvaged from chaos/de, or cut from big choppas. Oh, and desecrate the =][= hole.

Wait, that sounded less awful in my head.

Oh well.

Well, I feel soiled. The star at the base of the weapon would seem to lend itself to the whole desecration methinks.

Desecration? Hell yeah stuff's in the post btw. I'm now going to have to make some iron warriors just to trample underfoot, you realise.

Good start on painting the IW dread! Glad to see yellow, not red helmets up there on the racks! unless of course they were Assault marines? Then "How very dare you!"

Hmm. This is an odd idea, but bear with me. You could use the NDK foot and not glue; instead, splay it open at the front, attach the outer toes to either side flush, and then gs over to provide a smooth cleft hoof.

Mebbe.

That head looks cool! What is it from?

My chaos army thread & http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/389912.page

In the frozen land of Nador they were forced to eat Robin’s minstrels. And there was much rejoicing.

This looks awesome! Is it possible to cram a bunch of guitar strings or other various wires behind the head? So that his head is plugged in to the main structure? Right now it looks like there's some empty space behind it. Which may not matter if it's all black, but I think if you could toss on more detail than it just would look even more cohesive.

IW dread is coming along very nicely.

Exciting to see all these awesome ideas coming together, Tipios. Keep it up.

Its looks like it's going to be another epic model (not in scale ).
When I first saw the legs, I thought hooves would be the way, but now that I see this little bugger with his head on, it screams "sharp mechanical talons" to me.

May I ask what you have in your tiny mind for the arms ?

Thanks alot joe!!

"Sharp mechanical talons" sounds good to me

For the arms, I'm gona try and make a hell blade, and I need to fit the cannon on some where. I'm not sure on the main part of the arms yet, whether I use the defiler legs, or get more monstrous arms.

I'm glad you like the idea

tipios wrote: I need to fit the cannon on some where.

The cannon is a real problem on most of these defilers. Some are making an arm of it, others make a shoulder weapon... I didn't know what to do myself (I was going for a 4 ccw defiler), so finally I gave up on this point. I'd be interested to see how you'll deal with this.

tipios wrote:I'm not sure on the main part of the arms yet, whether I use the defiler legs, or get more monstrous arms.

I've tried the defiler leg as an arm for mine, but I felt the proportions were not right with such a bulky torso. I think if you want to go this way, you'll have to work on some extra plasticard armor plates. The monstrous arm is a classic, no risk here.

Great Rust effect BTW!
Cheers!

Have only recently joined this site and just spent the past hour going through this log. Your dread ideas are inspired. Im working on a Khorne one at the moment and wish I had thought of some of the things you added. Also Im planning a Defiler/walker thingy next as well so will be watching yours closely.
