Why does the Torrent weapon have a BS?

And he has FNP natively, unless he can’t benefit from his own aura.

I think it's to prevent stacking the ability, but definitely wordy.

Take a GUO as part of daemonic pact in a Death Guard army, and you can get Sisters down to T1
Just roll over them with poxwalkers or nurglings.

The "Psychic" ability doesn't do anything, and Sisters aren't immune to psychic powers.

They have really screwed up psychic powers/interactions in this edition.

The guard detachment ability is lethal hits. That's actually a little insane, even for just one unit in the army.

Not sure who the officer can be attached to, but Drill Commander + 20 man shock troop squad + First Rank Fire is 40 shots that auto wound on 5+ at long range, 58 shots at half range (sgts with autogun, which don't benefit from FRF).

Huh. This interaction is actually mentioned in the guard FF article, though not spelled out.

Yea though that unit will be easy to pull off the table. It may be better on scions or something that can DS in safely.

That's... that's it?

The legendary Saruman Asurmen, first of the Phoenix Lords, and one of the most legendary immortal figures of Eldar warfare and... that's all he gets?

[EDIT]: The Tallyman has the same rule as Asurmen!!!

Asurmen had 3++, and lost his wound cap. I think that's okay-ish. He has always been pretty vanilla too, i guess they'll eventually redo all the Phoenix Lords as Primarch-level uberdudes with a sack full of 'chose one out of three each turn' abilities - today is not that day.

It may be a rule in the GT pack that prevents that, but I haven't seen it in the base rules.

Dude, come on. Does his profile look like something befitting such a figure? And again, one of his special rules is the same as the Tallyman's.

The first Phoenix Lord - one of the most legendary immortal figures of Eldar warfare - has the exact same rule as a Plague Marine with an abacus and a scroll.

Eh. Its not any of that. 3++ was just a bugbear for a good long while. I'd hoped to see the back of it forever.

Have to admit, seeing that old model on the card made me grimace.

If I were in GW's layout department, I would've advocated for art in place of old models. (especially any that are coming down the pipe 'soon')

Rulebook page 15:

"When a model that can Fly starts or ends a move on a terrain feature, instead of measuring the path it has moved across the battlefield, you instead measure its path ‘through the air’, as shown in the diagram below."

And if the model with Fly neither starts nor ends its movement on a terrain feature, how does it move?

Like... normal? There are general movement rules.

So it can only fly over terrain if it begins or ends on terrain. Otherwise it has to hoof it on foot.

Looking at the toughness stats of monsters, I'm really struggling to see what the hell high-damage, S8 weapons like meltas, blaster etc. are supposed to be shooting at.

The person responsible for the Melta weapon rule and for vehicle rules were different people, and they never spoke to one another.

Or you can look at the top half of the exact same page, entitled "moving over terrain."

Anything they need to, but most effective into T4-8. The idea that you need to be wounding big stuff on 2s or 3s to be effective should die.
