How do?

So, Hachette and GW are at it again!

AoS theme Conquest equivalent.

First issue? £2.99 bags you three Sequitors, and 10 Chain Rasps. That is categorically not a price to be sniffed at, eh!

So far no group shot of the entire collection, or word on any possible exclusive models, ala Lt Calsius.

This is a new model, Knight Incantor.

That's a pretty attractive first issue. Heck, 13 models for 3 quid is amazing just for something to practice painting on.

The supply does not get to make the demands.

And I've no doubt just like conquest it'll never be made avaliable in north america

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two

I think, going back that far, we never got a group shot till the actual full release.
The trial stage we only ever found up to 6 (as 4 had the next two on it).

The website is set up the exact same way, with the survey etc. So I’m guessing there is a soft launch and then full later in the year..

We might get more details at the Nova today - its looking interesting though at £32 a month that's not small change, but certainly more than worth what you get. I'd have thought £16 or £20 might be a bit more suitable on a per-month basis, but then that would double the duration of the subscription period.

Yeah, but it worked for 40k.
They won’t change it for this.

People will pay it, even if it gets too many models in one go.
(And anyone running both subscriptions, 8 Issue drops per month, hefty work cut out for them).

Yup.

So far, the Conquest ones have varied in overall saving - but none have had content worth less than the cover price.

Tanks and bigger stuff are spread out over consecutive issues too, and you get a decent amount of terrain across the collection.

Hopefully they've learned some lessons, and tweaked things appropriately. For instance, Conquest quickly had 'doubler' issues, where the content was the same as a previous one. Not exactly a deal breaker, but I'd have preferred new stuff.

For a beginner though? It's hard to whack this sort of value. Whether you're looking at doing the armies involved, or looking to start in AoS, this should be good.

Stormcast was obvious. I don't want enough of the ghosts to make it worthwhile subbing though. Will keep an eye out for the cheap early issues though.

Take a look at what I've been painting and modelling: https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/0/725222.page

Yeah for sure.
Not sure whether I’m gonna go for it this time.
(I really don’t want that Retributor Gold..)

I do love the Nighthaunt models, Stormcast are ok.

I'd need like ten of Issue One/the one with the 'Rasps. Endless supplies of flying rags for servitors, familiars, whatever.

If only we had Conquest here, 'coz I would've taken a few Death Guard issues and Primaris characters, too. Sigh.

Looking for a Skaven Doomwheel banner to repair my Nurgle knights.

Well yeah. Of course the Stormcast bit was obvious. These things are always going to be whatever the starter set and Easy to Builds are.

I was happy with what I got out of Conquest. I tapped out around issue 20, and picked up the odd character model/ Plagueburst crawler issue. Will definitely be subscribing to this.

Do we know if this will have a geographically isolated trial period like Conquest or is this a full on release straight away?

Annoyingly this will be UK only again, which is a pity, I could go for...oh, all the Chainrasps for that price. Considering 10 of them are usually what, 25 pounds?

FAQ says that but subscription page only accepts UK addresses unless there is a separate page for Irish subs in Euro. EDIT it actually accepts Eircodes so it will ship to Ireland on an Eircode but my Eircode gives the wrong address (Eircodes are property specific and unique so that shouldn’t happen) although I can override the address.

I’ll be snapping up lots of issue 1 and 2 on release but I’ve no need of a sub for all of it. Conquest seems to have vanished from newsagents here so this will probably go the same way after awhile.

I wonder if it's just GW's lack of faith in continental europe sales for such a thing, or just "slow and steady" thing like with 40k conquest which is available in spain now I think too?

Hmm, definitely seems like another strong offer if you're into it.

I'm not really interested in AOS enough to justify it, but I might pick up the first couple at least where you get the really big savings.

I wonder if they'll go a bit heavier on Contrast paints this time.

Ah - I was just going by your flag

The 40k one has been released in Spain, Oz, New Zealand and just recently Italy. I think Germany had a trial too.

I suspect the slow roll-out is to do with stock (and doing the translations maybe?). For some of the issues with bigger savings, back issues would sell out immediately on their own website.

To be fair, as I'd only be interested in the 1st issue, I imagine there's a lot of people in the same boat. I do wonder in general if the "collectathon" style magazines where you get one toothpick a week to construct your own titanic are still as good a seller as in 90s-00s?

Stock and translation - its likely why the USA hasn't seen it done because that would likely require a massive amount of stock to be produced, shipped and stored. Considering that you can lose the whole of the UK in national parks in the USA its no surprise that GW might be more cautious at rolling it out state-side. At least until their new factory is onilne and the power limits resolved.

Hachette still successfully run hundreds of them and constantly produce more, so I would imagine so

I am fairly certain Conquest came out to Australia, so I can only hope it is the same for this. I'd like a fair few of issue #1, just for the chainrasps. Will be interesting to see if I can get a hold of them over here.

I would happily subscribe to AOS, 40K, and a Middle Earth one if they chose to do that. There is a market in the US. Perhaps larger than they realize.

Urusei Yatsura, Cerebus the Aardvark, Machiavelli, Plato and Happy Days. So, how was your childhood?

Still waiting for Conquest in the US, but maybe I'll be able to subscribe to this NA-side in a couple years. It's an interesting way to build up a small force.

I would also love to get a pile of issue 1 and a few copies of the other Nighthaunt issues, but I live in Canada. If anyone is interested in subscribing, but doesn't want the ghosts, please let me know.
