Why would anyone ever listen to that crap called Ke$ha?

Because they want to listen to a screwed up Valley Girl with a nauseatingly helium voice try to be Lady Gaga?

But terrible Pop music is a given, and has been for all 30 years I've lived, and no doubt was earlier.

(The difference is, many of like the crappy pop from our childhoods, I, for example, am a complete sucker for Culture Club)

Because Ke$ha and Lady Gaga are clearly the same thing, for starters "Hey, it's a female singer and electronics!" That's like saying every metal band sounds alike (which people who don't actively listen to metal do).

The deal with Ke$ha is you have to understand what she's there for. She's there to have fun and listen to (hence the drunk college girl crowd). Her lyrics are over the top horrible to be more commercially appealing which, like it or not, that band you like that's ever been played on the radio, has had to do. You want simple lyrics so people can sing along, which makes you stick in people's heads and be successful. Stylistically, music is evolving. Deal with it in a way that makes you not sound like some old guy hearing Johnny B. Good (OMG, a letter replacing a word in the title!) for the first time and yelling intolerantly to turn that noise down. In short, people listen to it because they want to have a good time and when you can let go enough that Ke$ha sounds acceptable, you're feeling pretty relaxed People who say her music is better than other, more well-written, more technical and significantly better-lyricized just haven't heard enough to be able to argue effectively, like anything else.

Ahem.

Your signature says you were born in the nineties. You probably ARE around ten years younger than me.

From what I understand postgrad is university while pregrad is college.

Though I am just a limey that is applying for harvard.

As for my exact age, I'm not saying. But anyway, I have a classmate who is in her seventies, and plenty of them in their thirties and fourties. It's not unusual to see middle-aged or older people going to college and universities.

It took me about five years to get my two-year degree, because I just couldn't afford many classes at a time.

A lot of people who are out of work here apply for grants in order to go to college so that they can hopefully amke themselves more attractive for jobs.

Age is a sensitive subject for some women.

In my case, I'm just a private person. Because of a certain incident that I mentioned earlier in this thread, I don't give personally identifiable details about myself. Even the details I gave to google when signing up for gmail were false, using the address of a friend's house in a different neighborhood.
