I don't know how much interest there still is in this series, I stopped a few books ago. But apparently Simon & Shuster Australia (who distribute the BL down under) accidentally posted the sell sheets for Siege of Terra Book 8 instead of Book 7 Echos of Eternity.

Luckily "Lotara Sarrin" on Reddit managed to snag them before the error was caught.

There's not all that much 'new' information in there, the title and author were already known, but it had some details like the release date and format that might be of interest, not to mention a preview of the first page.

I dropped out of HH after the first few books, came back for Solar War and a few other books but dropped out after the 3rd book in a row about soldiers fighting in the mud and main characters standing heroically on the battlements. But I may just come back for this one in order to call it done.

I know very little about where the Siege books are but looks good.

Reddit is blowing up today, apparently someone snagged the full preview and a plot summary.

According to "Kai Zulane" the action in book 8 almost totally neglects Khan and Rogal and instead focuses on some character who's barely been seen or heard from since Master of Mankind which was like 10 books ago.

Eh. I wouldn't say well put together- I crashed at the author's name.
The 'Simon and Schuster' press blurb just... wasn't convincing. The publishing industry doesn't promote new books on other books that old (unless they really have to) so they would have referenced Warcraft: Illidan instead, G&F wasn't ever a book title, just the omnibus title, and referencing Dragonlance just made me laugh.

I know nothing of how the publishing industry works, so it was convincing enough for me. Even though having William King write it should have given the game up, I figured maybe that'd got him back as a once off for the final book. I dunno. Stranger things have happened.

Only thing that seemed unrealistic was that we already knew the authors for the books from that writers room meeting thing and that they were all working on them from then etc.

I guess I should explain that, for me, the point of an April Fools post is not really to trick people (which reminds me, exclusive NFTs of the Final Battle are now available!) but rather to build a path and see how long it takes for someone to realize it's the road to nonsense.

If believably was the goal then every year it would a rumor of new Marine units and price hikes

In this case, I think the book length of 8 pages should have given it away, even if you haven't memorized the 30 year old Emperor vs Horus story this is a reprint of

I forget who suggested it but a while back someone said the last HH book should be the Emperor and his men getting on a teleporter and the book ends there. Maybe with a note to the effect of "Continued in The Lost and the Damned!"

My personal suggestion is the last book end with some 41st M scribe cracking his knuckles and smirking at the fanfic he just wrote. Just as the Inquisition burst in.
