Go for it Sage, that's why I made the base detachable so you could swap them out between yours and mine. Sorry its of the old colour scheme but I hope you still like him.

Sorry misunderstood I think, no need to base my marine sage as i'm working on some masters for my own resin bases so he'll probably be set on one of those.

well hes on a base now, but i wont put anything on the base.


i love the marine, and the detachable base. great work! color scheme works i think! dull lookihng but i really like it, if that makes sense. it looks liek what a real marine would wear!

Hmm, I assume that's a compliment , I think the dullness your describing come from the tamiya weathering I put on him. They really are great little sets if you can get them. If you're not sure which ones I mean check out Les's tutorial on White Scars on YouTube.

If you wanna swap that's fine, don't worry I won't hold you to a Reaper if you don't want too. At the moment I have IceAngel's, WM's and Ramos' to do but I can pencil you into the list. Like I said to Ramos though it could be a while as I have just started my final year at uni.

Which reminds me, you never really decided what you wanted me to do in the way of wargear. Or army for that matter, though I'm thinking you were thinking HL.

it is a compliment! i love it. i will look them up, i have heard of them before.

these models make me want to convert more marines, work on my painting, and fool around with basing!

The stuff I have for fooling around making bases and what not at the mo is milliput, you have a lot of similar stuff in the states I believe. Don't use green stuff as they do in a lot of the tutorials for your learning, just use that for your final pieces.

@ Imp. Monkey - You sir have a more important marine to do for me now if you're willing. Whilst milling around the interweb I have decided that what is needed within my army is a unit of Champions. Specifically Feast of Blades Champions. If possible would you be able to construct me an Emperor's Champion style model from the Crimson Fists? So suitably large power sword/axe with or without shield. Bolt pistol if you like too.

So I'm doing a Soul Drinker for Lenny, and got to thinking, should I switch my HL to SD? I havent started my own, but see a reason to do both.
With HL, I have Shrike and all the Ravenguard FW stuff to work with (they have the same logo as HL)
With SD, Chaperhouse makes some pads, and your friend and mine Blackhand made some as well. It also gives me a way to get into CSM as well as codex.


So whatcha think?

I think just from the conversion ability for deamon weaponry Soul Drinkers win. And as you have said they also allow you to tailor a list to play as either vanilla or chaos marines.

Also don't forget that the death company box comes with a few chalice pads to add a little bit of variety.

The fluff is much better as well. The HL have like 2 sentences to their name.

who are they HL?


soul drinkers would be cool, but tons of young kids do it i noticed, so it would be nice to see a really well made SD army and i think you could do it WM!

The SD are one of my favorite space marine chapters, just because I like the scheme, and the Soul drinkers novels are some of my favorite books from the Black Library.
Sage, did you take a pic of the chaplain yet?

Hawk Lords, a codex chapter in pretty much the same colors.

Soul Drinkers also means you get to do purple vehicles instead of boring ole black ones, lol

For The Chaplain, if you trim the teeth from the chainsword off, itll look perfect. Love the head
(and I just re-read the codex, LC Chaplin is a no go. Think you can trim off the claws?)

i coudl trim the claws, i think the claws look cool, maybe just use it as a count as PF since i guess most people (except me haha) woudl know chaplain cant have LC?

the chaplain badge of honor is made by a space wolf chain sword, and then a DA top piece. I was thinking of a chain staff thing, but i don't think that came out well enough. I will shave the teeth off on it for BBL.
