@ Fattimus_maximus = Thanks. Always nice to impress the ladies

@ Deadly chicken = I'm sure there is a turorial somewhere on how to assembly line... If there isn't then that will be a future project.

@ Neutronium Alchemist = Thanks!... and wha la!

I had an old display board for my square base empire army so my friend donated some terrain and pinned the trees up and made the snazzy dark angel pillar for me in exchange for some free hand work on his wave serpent. I tried to match the grass and trees to my local wildlife. (as I really do live in a beautiful state... not much other than pretty though) In some of the pictures below you can see the trees in the back ground and the grass and the board all in one. I think I really captured the look. I would have liked to put more time in the display board but I literally have less than two weeks! So anywho, here's what I've done so far...

All I have left is 2 whole Ironclads and 30% of a Land Raider and Vulcan's back banner! (freehand on banner if time)
Off to paint 40k cherubs on the LR.

Thanks,

Very nice indeed, the moody sky in the background realy adds a cool touch.

The only thing I would say is that it looks like some ruined buildings in a field. maybe they need some rubble or something around them, but that's a pretty minor thing really.

@ a1steaks = My rhinos are my favorite thing in the whole project so far. My Dreadnought may take that slot after their done though... I have a soft spot for robots and mech...

@ StubbyGB = I absolutely agree with you. I intend on putting some rubble and more bushes and over growth around the ruins to make them look like they've been there for ages and nature has slowly started to eat away at them.... However 11 days left so that will prolly be something I add after my deadline.

@ Wolf = Cool! Thanks for following all the way through

Cherubs almost done.

@ everyone = Thanks!

@ pretesamd = Glad you could crawl out of your hole for a while.

@ deadly chicken = It took me about 2 weeks to do 36 guys. The red is foundation red (mercintine red?), Gore red covering the foundation, baal red wash, blood red highlights and edging, gryphon sepia wash in small spots and streaks.

I'm really interested in how you do your streaky weathered white actually. Oddly enough I have almost the exact same scheme as you, white marines with red trim, but I throw in spots of brown leather and green power weapons/lights/eyes to break up the colors. However, that streaky warm white is exactly what I wanted but couldn't figure out how to do. Tutorial time maybe?

This is impressive!

Do you have other armies that you've painted as well as this one?

Also, do you have any other realistic/weathering effects that you might be able to impart wisdom on?

Keep paintin'! Looking forward to seeing the complete project!
