I've caught a few episodes of Ghost in the Shell every now and again, but it doesn't really do much for me.
I've considered renting the first season or whatever it might be called and see if I can get into it.
I have to say, I've really been enjoying Spice and Wolf. I like how it's a fantasy setting, but isn't all about swords and magic and hitting things for once.
People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

Its not something you can watch random episodes of, the storyline for the Stand Alone Complexes are pretty involved. Quite often I just think its over most peoples heads if they dont watch the episodes in order. I watched them all via netflix as the SAC's you can watch instantly online with a basic membership.

Okay, my view of anime has widened.
But does anyone have any thoughts about Studio Ghiblis work? Some of them are fantastic! (Princess Mononoke as well as Nuasicaa)

Spice and wolf is awful . Horo is always in heat , isnt she supposed to be a goddess?

Howl's moving castle and Spirited away are pretty enchanting too.

I mean, I still cry at the end of SAC 2nd GIG when the Tachikomas sacrifice themselves. The back story tie in with Kuze and Motoko punctuated with the origami crane at the end was a rather elegant touch.
On the same storyline, the two Appleseed movies also impressed me.
I guess the silly sort of anime, or the very tired teen based characters dont generally hold much appeal for me.
Similar Story here. "Sniff"
Though the Tachikoma shorts at the end of each episode just annoyed the hell out of me.
The stand alone complex storylines are much closer to the original Shonen comics Shirow did before he started exclusively doing "adult" illustrations.

Spice and wolf is awful . Horo is always in heat , isnt she supposed to be a goddess?
Goddess of fertility and the harvest, Luna. Her personality mirrors her spiritual domain.

With what i said earlier , im not sure what im watching anymore.
Bestiality porn or economy 101 . (oh i thought you dont like furies )
Furries are anthromorphic animals, which Horo is not.
Have you watched it all the way through? Do you understand the setting?
Don't criticise the anime that I watch when you like anime fan crap like Gundam.

The point stands; I enjoy it, and I don't see anything like beastiality on it. You cannot make sweeping generalisations of it like that.

*Shrug , no one said you have to agree with me to enjoy it . Just enjoy it yourself and control yourself.
Now then, is anyone else into Death Note? I like the supernatural thriller theme, and the live-action Japanese adaptation isn't bad either.

Oh really? you seem pretty angry because i said something about Horo .
grow up cheese. i know you have been trying lately , and i applaud your effort. ( going to bed now )
Oh and you know what else is funny? YOU are the one that have accused me of been a furries lover in 3 different threads.
1) when i said i like space skaven
2) when i said there should be an animal army ( back when they were discussing what future fantasy army are next )
3) when i i had an avatar of Horo you made fun of it.
There you go cheese , you are such a hypocrite ( of course you probably cant remember )

Oh, shut up, Luna. Pull your head out of the sand and listen to yourself for once. Practice what you preach. What you've said is basically trolling, which you accuse me of a lot. Yes, I am an internet troll, not a serious one, but you're a hypocrite.

Reading berzerk manga atm (the beginning was very depressing , but i liked the mood. Its like one man marching to meet his end kind of thing)
but now he is accompanied by 5 people ( feels like they are trying to drag the story on )
*Edit , btw have you heard of "Blame!" ? the designs used seems to have made its way through recent minature companies too .

The manga is pretty good though I am annoyed by the Puk character. Other than that it is a damn good read and still going strong, not bad for a series that started 20+ years ago and is only now halfway there.
One more epic classic anime for you guys ( weird, its not that old 2000 . guess its the art's style )
(normally people dont really discuss about it , its ranked up there with Grave of The Fire Flies because its so depressing)
Dont let the first episode fool you ... the funny atmosphere is setting you up for a very sharp drop -_-
Now and Then, Here and There:
Much of the series deals with serious moral questions relating to war, the cost of war, and the exploitation of children.

Luna, just stop it. It's devolved into a personal attack now. Just -stop- it. You made a sweeping generalisation of something I like without anything to back up your point, and I did the same.

No , you stop it .
You did the personal attack , where did i attack you? where did i troll you ? I can find yours to quote , why cant you?
Nothing to back it up ? You DO know this is a All Ages Forum right? You think im dumb enough to link the naked screens of Horo that made me say "she is in heat all the time"?
im not THAT dumb to fall for that .

Wow, you definitely shouldn't be reading this series at your age.
Also, both you AND Cheese need to chill the feth out. This is a thread about cartoons - both of you are just flaming each other and it's gonna get an otherwise innocuous thread locked.
Modquisition on: Yes Dakka proves you can get into a pushy shovy about...cartoons?
A reminder Dakka Rule #1 applies even here. Be polite. 1. You two will cease fire. 2. Lets drop the anime fan reference. I don't have a clue what that is but its been reported as a racist type statement so it ends until I can get some advice on it from other mods.
Edit: Dang Alpharius, you're fast...
