The manga is pretty good though I am annoyed by the Puk character. Other than that it is a damn good read and still going strong, not bad for a series that started 20+ years ago and is only now halfway there.
A bit OT since this is about the manga rather than the anime:
Puk/Puck/what-have-you was a bit less comic-relief in the beginning of the series, though he's somewhat harmless comic-relief in an otherwise incredibly dark story.
Though I'd love to see the whole story serialized into animated form, I'm rather glad that the anime focused on the "Golden Age" segment, and only really hinted at how dark the story-line would become. It was nice for them to focus on the themes of friendship/comaraderie/dreams rather than the (rather over-used, to be honest) theme of revenge. That and all the Nietszchean philosophy that permeates the greater portion of the story up to the current story arc.
It hurts my wallet so bad to try to collect the entire series of books (34+ as of the moment at $14USD a piece )

I thought it was just another name for an otaku (an insult as well) or someone with an unhealthy obsession/idealization with the Japanese. Mean? Yes. Racist? No. Lets not belittle real hate words and their impact. It probably shouldn't be allowed though as it is usually used in a mean fashion. Unless I'm using it in a joke then it is ok.
Amidst the mists and coldest frosts he thrusts his fists against the posts and still insists he sees the ghosts.
Its not allowed now. It doesn't have to be racist to be inappropriate for our incredibly important discussions about toy soldiers. After all this is a family friendly forum

OHHHH! i see it now , the 2 casts share same characterstic! (whats this? )
I wasn't comparing them, just posting some awesome cast members. I especially like the Sealab 2021 crew shown above, I'm a big fan of Sparks (sitting guy) and captain Hazel Murphy (older man).

Found it when researching Witch Hunter's fluff (surprise surprise) and thought it was absolutely brilliant. The opening few episodes are of a "monster of the week" variety, but as the series gets going it drastically improves, and builds to a fantastic finale.
Sadly only one series, but well worth a look!

I've recently watched both seasons of Big O and the second season ending was rather.. WTF. So the universe is reset and the cancelled third season is supposed to explain everything?

It's a great series, light on the silly bs and actually good. Sure there's an arc about two killer commie kids with big weapons, but the arc where neo-nazis are slaughtered on a ship makes up for it big time.

Fairly new to anime, but I love mecha and giant robots, so I'm going to the grand daddy of the genre, and watching Mobile Suit Gundam (AKA First Gundam AKA Gundam 0079) and enjoying it immensely, even if it looks a bit dated (after all it's 30 years old) after that's done, I'm doing a Gundam Marathon and watching every series I can get my hands on, but especially the Universal Century stuff.
Guyver (still trying to buy the films if anyone knows where from)
Bleach
Ghost in the shell S.A.C
Gundam wing
Blood
Infinity
Darkness
red and stimpy
simpsons
futurama

Suffused with the dying memories of Sanguinus, the warriors of the Death Company seek only one thing: death in battle fighting against the enemies of the Emperor.
My girlfriend is a much bigger fan of anime than I am,but I watch Inyuasha,Gundum wing,Wolfs rain, Full Metal Alchemist and such with her.
I did enjoy shows like Robotech & Battle of the planets (G-Force) when I was a kid.
I am both selfish and chaotic. I value self-gratification and control; I want to have things my way, preferably now. At best, I'm entertaining and surprising; at worst, I'm hedonistic and violent.
That being said, Venture Brothers FTW. I happened to be passing by a pool the other day, and I saw people playing chicken yelling "mecha-shiva, mecha-shiva" at each other. It warmed my heart.

30 minutes of your life you will never get back. Badly drawn and no plot whatsoever!
Im recently watching Gurren Lagann ( why so late?! )
because i assumed and stereotyped this anime after watching 1 episode :/
i thought it was for 6 years olds ( mecha that looks like pokemons , and Yoko er.... she is hmm.... )
But oh wow i was wrong , the story is extremely well written , i can see why so many people love it now.

You'll really love Zeta Gundam then!
