I recently got back into Dragonball. I'm reading the Manga again and the DBZ Abridged series really got me into the material again.
Though, as much as I like it, it is deeply flawed. In this world, appearantly the only thing which decides how good a fighter is, is his strengh and the only way to increase ones strengh is by doing stuff while wearing weighted clothing.
And then there are the ridicoulus power levels in Z.

I've been enjoying Ben 10 probably more then I should. Why it's obviosly focused on a certain demographic, I really like it. The art is and writing is very solid and it's exactly the kind of show a saturday morning cartoon should be.
I actually enjoy this cartoon alot as well. The live action movies suck though, right? That we can agree on.
I only saw a few scenes from it on youtube. Bringing a cartoon to live-action is never easy. The brown furry Alien (don't know his name) looked pretty good, the rest was Power Rangers quality.

I've really enjoyed the Spectacular Spider-Man show that's currently on the air. The first season set is finally being released to DVD next week, can't wait to pick it up.
The first and last season of the Batman Animated Series were both incredible. Brave and the Bold is okay, guess I'm just not digging on the bright-happy Batman.
Did anyone ever see Atomic Betty? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j4hjW_xgnOM Great little cartoon made even more great because it looks as good as it does and was animated in Flash.

You've just signed your death warrant, boy. Board up your windows and bar the doors if you wish, but you shall not stop me. I will hunt you down and tear out your heart with my bare hands and hold it to the heavens for all to see, and even as hellfire consumes me, I shall be laughing with joy as the last breath leaves your gutted corpse, a final sacrifice to the Darkness.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

Cheesey is expressing almost as much rage as the average Spongebobber.
Genghis Connie is displeased with your lack of faith...the thundering sound and gutteral shouts you hear aren't ten tuman of her personal guard coming to adjust your attitude... really...that arrow that went through your window is just a greeting...

I love anime and cartoons. I'm a bit old school with my anime though, as I aint watched any in several years. Fav anime were: Guyver (and the recent re-make Bio-Booster Armour Guyver and the two live action movies - though the second was far better) Ghost in the Shell Patlabour 1 (not seen 2) Vampire Hunter D (also love the recent remake of that too) Monster City X Wings of the Honamese ('scuze spelling if wrong) Flying Island of Laputa Read Or Die (aka R.O.D) Die Guard Battle Angel Alita Akira (I know it's the main one everyone says, but it is a classic) Blood: The Last Vampire
Can't really say I had much actual Manga other than a few issues of Gundam. Comic-wise I tend to get the Hellboy and Star Wars Tales graphic novels.
Also love a load of cartoons (got an excuse to watch them as I have a wee boy ) I Love (and I can't state this enough), love, G1 Transformers. Family Guy and American Dad (though not sure these are what the thread intended to class as 'cartoons' as not meant for kids) Jaycee and the Wheeled Warriors Visionaries: Knights of the Magical Light G.I. Joe (the original - I know I'm English, but Snake Eyes was cool and Cobra Cmdr was Star Scream) As my son also seems fascinated by it (which is odd as he is only 10 months old) I watch a lot of Ben 10. I gotta say it is pretty good, though I think I like it as Four Arms reminds me of Hellboy.

Its just random stupidity. There is no plot.
1: like i said it random stupitidy and why would you want you kids watching that.
2: the main chracter is an adult yet hasnt grown up. to me that seems wrong
3: The chracter Krabbs promote money obesesivness.
4: a whole gakload of of other stuff i cant talk right know

The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all
We love our superheroes because they refuse to give up on us. We can analyze them out of existence, kill them, ban them, mock them, and still they return, patiently reminding us of who we are and what we wish we could be.

Fav anime were:
Patlabour 1 (not seen 2)
Vampire Hunter D (also love the recent remake of that too)
Patlabor 3 is also good, if I remember it correctly. I think HD versions are out, from the original cells.
And by remake of Vampire Hunter D, you mean Bloodlust, right?
anonymous @ best Warhammer Miniature wrote:i vote the choas dwarf lord as they are the greatest dwarfs n should get there own codex
See, visually/aesthetically, I liked Vampire Hunter D.
But I didn't actually like the movies all that much (the original OR Bloodlust). The plots didn't really go anywhere and just went far too slowly for my tastes.
Re: Dubbings - I'd say 99% of the time, dubbings are horrid. Partially due to the voices they choose to take over. I will say, though, that the Cowboy Bebop dubs aren't bad at all (though not nearly as good as the original voices).
Pinky and the Brain and freakazoid were fantastic.
As for anime, I've just worked my way through Stand Alone Complex, and now dusting off the Heat Guy J box set. Once I get some cash in I'm going to be getting Coyote Ragtime Show and Cowboy Bebop.
Gargoyles was a great show, but when I watched it again a few years ago there were a few things that bothered me. Half of the whole Avalon-Journey story was pretty useless and kinda ruined the show for me. The episode about the Nanotechnology AI in Australia was the worst.
The 3rd season also had its downpoints.
Still: Xanatos is pretty much the best villian ever. He travels back in time, only that he can send himself a bunch coins in the future which he will sell to become a billionaire. "I'm a self-made man." I still can hardly believe that he's spoken by Ryker.
Tom and jerry was pretty good. The movie are crap though. they got rid of the cat and mouse game and make them team up.
same with scooby doo.
the movies deviate to far from the original

hell yeah! A man after my own heart. I loved watching the old Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck toons when I was little. Course since they aren't pc, they ahd to be remade and "better", destroying the original charm.
Cartoon/Anime I Like:
Gungrave
Full Metal Alchemist
The Original Looney Toons (thank good for boomerrang)
The Flintstones(see above)
Bleach
Gundam SEED
Gundam Wing
Desert Punk
Johhny Quest(again, see above)
Avatar: The Last Airbender
Alvin and The Chipmunks
Hong Kong Phoey
Teen Titans
Batman: Mask of The Phantasm
Static Shock
Gargoyles
Ed, Edd, an Eddy
The Simpsons
South Park (does it count as a cartoon?)
