i was wondering if people would want to trade other SM models such as termies, or commanders. that would be an interesting trade. i could understand not termies cuz they are expensive, but converted commanders would be cool trades, or vet models. command squad models also would be pretty fun to paint and model. i was just going to throw this idea out there and see what people think.

Sageheart - I think people will trade just about whatever you are willing to swap. I've been chatting with a few people from this thread about swapping and I think it all depends on who you're chatting with. I personally wouldn't trade any terminators, mostly because I don't have any unpainted ones, but I'm sure others would.

Yeah I can't do termis either, because if I get them they get used asap. Even if I get spare, my Deathwing could always use a new Battle Brother. Most of us have plenty of spare bits to make about any "Sgt" configuration you could come up with, excluding things like combi-bolters and other rarities.

yea i expected termies to be rare, but i thought it was an interesting idea to bring up.

i would like to trade some more specialized models if anyone is down. cant do termies but can trade other things.

ps does anyone know where to get plastic thunder hammers for non-terminator marines.

OK, finally got things to the point where I can show my progress. This is for my trade with Styrofoam04 who runs Red Corsairs, the former allies and now arch enemies of my Mantis Warriors.

Meet Benedictus. A member of the MW vanguard and liaison officer to the Astral Claws during the Badab War. He was corrupted by chaos during that time and fled with the Astral Claws (now Red Corsairs). The final model will have a Chapterhouse pre-herasy jump pack and a chaos shoulder pad on the cybernetic arm (left), and one of my original free-hand mantis warrior pads on the right arm. Depicted in a flying Bushido kick (the right leg is actually bent at a sharp angle to simulate the leap, you just can't see it from this angle).

I wanted him to be a little chaossy but not over the top. He's not a traditional chaos marine, as with the Red Corsairs... having "turned" relatively recently (100 yrs or less). Since the original Mantis Warrior badge had large mandibles, I've included them in the build. I figure things like chainswords would wear out, so I used chaos swords instead of imperial models. He has one cybernetic arm and on that shoulder will be a chaos pad, as if he'd lost an arm in a battle and had to repace it (and the equipment) with what was at hand.

It's a really rough build at this point, but will get more refined in short order.

Well i'm quite partial to my marines, but i could probably give one away. my chapter is a descendant of the iron hands and has massively strong ties to the mechanicus although most of the army doesn't show it. I present the knights of the cog:

As per whalemusic's request: here's the status of my build for Styrofoam04

Couldn't stand to be this close without seeing the final form. Here is the build with a proxy mechanicus pad in for the chaos one (left arm). Everything is temporarily tacked in place with green stuff. There's still some clean up and little details to add, but this is basically the final build of the fig. Base will get some work and the fig may end up supported on a wire from the structure of the base rather than the flying base pedestal... have to see what looks best.

Im still not sure if I like the CH jump packs. I may have to get one just to mess with.

So here are my 2 guys that are done thusfar.
Ice Angels guy. Decided to give freehanding on the pad a go. I'm very happy with, but would like some feedback. I know the sword isnt perfect, but it was try #1 on doing it. Otherwise, yeah, there ya go.

So heres a story for ya, I was totally done, except for the little wicks on the candel. I had it brown and decided to wash it black. I knock the friggin thing over and dump half of it on my table...... ARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

dang really like the DA look really good the shoulder pads are nice!
