Started a thread without looking properly so it has more pics and the new update sheets for the forge world catalogue with prices for some of the new stuff. I really can't face doing it all again here so I'll just post the link to the now closed off thread;

Enjoy and I hope it gives some more info for those abroad and for those who couldn't get there! I have suitably chastised myself for not checking the news forum thoroughly!!

Given the level of interest, the tie-ins with the BL HH series and, most importantly, the money to be made, it isn't really that surprising at all.

The only surprising thing is that it took this long for them to realize all of this!

Having said that...

The MKI LR is... really not that good, especially when compared to their already existing Pre-Heresy 'style' Land Raider. I don't think they'd see many of these things.

The old school Whirlwind? Ah, maybe? Still prefer the 'newer' one, which still fits in fine with Pre-Heresy stuff.

Also, have to agree with Kan on the 'blank' Chaos Dwarf shields - something else has to be coming for them - maybe some 'Bull Heads', similar to the Standard one is carrying?

No apology necessary, that's exactly what wanted to know. I was wondering if there was a reason they were out, or if it was simply coincidence.

Yeah I'd agree with that, although they still don't seem to have grasped that maybe a Tanith First and Only line would do them wonders as well. I can't think of many Guard players who have read those books who wouldn't love to be able to collect figs of Mkoll, Criid, Gol, Hark and Shoggy to name a few. Heck I'd imagine there would be interest from non Guard players as well.

My only hope is they do a IA book themed on the Ghosts series at some point. I mean official Blood Pact figs. *drool*

Tamurkhan is due out in July 2011. The Chaos Dwarfs were primairliy designed to be used as a contingent to add to the Warrior's of Chaos army, however the book contains a FULL playable Chaos Dwarf Army List with many options and upgrades.

The new Chaos Dwarf infantry (Infernal Guard) are Chaos Dwarf Slaves that are forced to wear the full suit of armour and full face helmet before being unleashed on the Chaos Dwarfs enemies. The champion has no full face helmet which is a reward from his captors.

Most of the warmachines had two pages of rules/background/stats etc some of this stuff is going to be complicated to use. The Warsmiths also had a huge amount of original rules and exciting options.

Warmachines can be connected to form a seige train, however it costs a ton of points and won't be used unless you are playing 'ard boy lists (3000+pts).

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Anyways that is it for now. If you got a chance to check out the book at open day or know of more confirmed entries please add them to this thread.

I'm surprised the Phantom isn't more costly, considering it's size.

Yes!!!!!!

*Does 10 consecutive minutes of Tiger Fist Pumps around the office*

However, I'm a little confused. If what we're seeing are pictures of slave infantry, wouldn't they need a different form of regular infantry, too? I can see why it would be slated as more of an add-on army, as it might not have enough different kinds of models on its' own. Perhaps there will be units listed (someone mentioned the monstrous infantry that was flame-filled armor) that do not yet have models, that will be sculpted / put out later?

I crave more info...

Sorry folks, but the Mk1 Land Raider and Whirlwind were nothing to do with Forgeworld. Warhammer World has a cabinet that regularly shows off three-ups of their plastic models, and this week was three-ups of the plastic epic land raiders and whirlwinds from the 1990s. Nothing to do with Forgeworld, there won't be Forgeworld Mk1 Land Raiders or Whirlwinds.

The unit names kicked around so far sound almost exactly like the Indy Dwarfs of Chaos codex... Infernal Guard instead of Obsidian Guard, etc....even golems (which rock in-game by the way).

Unless they take to ensalving themselves, which wouldn't make sense but I wouldn't put it past GW to do, the slave infantry will probably be hobgoblins or other goblinoids.

Have to say that I'm excited.

Agnosto, from the description above (I quoted it in my last message but didn't highlight it) it sounded like the models we've seen were slaves, hence the full face covering, with the unit champion having no covering as a reward.

I'm really interested in it almost no matter what they're doing, they look great and it would be a nice change of pace from the current armies available...

Then they're going to redo the entire fluff behind CDs then.

I guess I'll wait and see.

I don't really care about the fluff. I wanna see prices! The mantic evil dwarves leave me a bit cold because of their absolutely ridiculous hats, but I love evil dwarfs in general, especially if they've got big hordes of orcish rabble.
If forge world are three times more expensive than mantic though, it's gonna be a no go.

Yeah, that's the general problem with Foreworld....nice, pretty toys, insane prices. My toy to $ value ratio isn't that high because I get to play like once a month.

It may not be quite that bad, but we'll see- Mantic's abyssal dwarfs seem to be one of the most expensive of their range, since they're a plastic/metal hybrid and had lots of add-on pieces in addition to the regular dwarf sprues they're based off of.

Edit: I think you missed the "three times more expensive", Alph
