I really like the feral look most of the heads have from the space wolf pack set.

I didn't quit get what you meant, but I tried to change his arm position.
Now you have to tell me if this is any better?

I corrected on the commander and on the first flamer:

And I have created two flamers more:

Now I need to do the heavy flamer and the "priest", and then greenstuffing shall begin.

What do you think?

i now realize that the grenade holding hand was a complete bit and not a hand attached to a scout arm... silly me... yeah it looks cool now^^

that mini flamer looks funny... one question tho... will the catachan arms remain bare? or get clothed? i think it always looks fishy to have clothed and unclothed arms on one model...
oh and by the way... the grenade flame...will his arm look later like bionics? just realized you used a tactical arm on that one...

Hehe, no worries!

Fishy?
I don't know if I should gs cloth on them, maybe a tattered shirt and maybe put some spare shoulderpads on as well. But I was thinking that handling flamers would be a very warm deal and that they would have torn/burned off some of their clothing.
What do you think?

Yea, I was thinking as using them as bionics or enhanced armour.

I think it will look better when I paint them up.

torn arms i think would work... one still intact sleeve and the other battleworn... that would look good...if you have add a shoulderpad...

and yep...everything looks better painted...

I will try to create that.
The plans with the Sons of Sek army was to learn and become good enough to make some more challenging things.

Heavy flamer and "priest" done!

Now they are all going to get some greenstuff first, then they will get some more gear and their bases spiced up.
After that it is primer time, so still a long way to go.

What do you guys think?

that priest looks very good , tho that longer sword (forgott the true name...) needs a bit thickening...with a bit of plasticcard and you are set!

and yes... we live, we learn^^

@InquisitorRoeth: Thanks, I guess. I'm planning on either that putting some greenstuff on the tip or removing the tip.

@Swampyturtle: Thanks. The "thompsom" will be as counting as a las pistol.
I will get over and throw a comment on your taniths.

@Viktor: Eviscerator. I don't know if I think it is too large and remove the tip, or if I will strengthen it with greenstuff.

If I should buy some plastic cards and rods, what thickness should I go for?

hmm... if you could flesh it out with pc then i think you should leave the tip as is... that evicerator needs that big size... so...^^

thickness of PC... well... not too think...1mm- 2 mm? and for some further detail the really thin stuff... probably 0.5mm

ALWAYS use 1mm (0.40") for most everything, with some thinner and thicker stuff for detail like Vik said.

have fun and use vaseline only for greenstuffing purposes...remeber that stuff doesn´t mix too well with latex

With latex? O.o
I use water, vaseline is for girlies.

A small pictureless update:

I had a few bad days with a bad mood, but today I got started again.
I greenstuffed some torn sleeves, filling some wholes and tried to make the torso and legs come better together.

I tried to sculpt/cut a Khorne Symbol on a shoulder-pad, ending with failure.
Then my girlfriend, kind as she is, tried to make it.
And you know what? She makes it perfect!
Damn annoying! I don't know if to love or hate her for it.
She have offered to make more, but I think I should focus to learn it myself.

That is it, I'm out!

Make a simple green stuff mold from her perfect one and your set.

I am now accepting commissions for any hobby project! I've been in the hobby since '92. Specializing in traditional brush methods, creating a gritty dark aesthetic. From single character models to entire armies. From individual terrain pieces to entire table tops. From tabletop level to masterclass level painting. From purchasing and assembly to leveling up your assembled armies paint job. If it has to do with the hobby I can do it! Hit me up and let's chat about your project!

@Genom.cor: That is called cheating.
On a serious note, I'm not going to do it.
The whole idea with this army was to learn and evolve as much as possible.
If I just copied her symbol, I wouldn't learn to do it my self.

@Viktor: Yea, I'm slowly realising that. I have made up my mind to lure her with an evil scheme.

Does any know a good way to give her an overview of the different armies?
So I could introduce her to them, and maybe get her to pick one.

On another note, here are some pictures:

Bodyguards, Commander and "Priest":

And the three flamers and the one heavy flamer:

The wicked good khorne symbol my girlfriend did, her first try with greenstuff:

Tomorrow I will start doing some hands and making more symbols.

overview...only lexicanum... buut i think that is also too much to read...

only the big red book...that could help...for giving her some options the easiest way...

say your GF the khrone symbol looks very good! and she definatyl should make more stuff with GS... lots of potential!

seeing these progressing minis... will this be a very hot army your sons´o sek? those short sleaves on the priest look very good by the way!

Yea, I was thinking picture wise. Her english really sucks.

The big red book?

I told her and she just blushed and smiled, I take that as a good thing.

Well, it wasn't the plan but there special weapons will consist of flamers and plasma guns so I suppose.
Thanks, pretty glad my self as well.

I'm alive! I'm not dead!

Soo, I actual sprayed them and had them with me on holiday at my parents, but of course I didn't get anything done there.
But know I'm back and today I got started by painting them all the first layer of yellow.

Here is the result:

I'm not sure if the officer cap should be yellow too.
The yellow is really a pain to paint and get to cover the black, but it is okay.

This is also the first time I really do more than one mini at a time.

if you have problems with the yellow... start by gradualy working upwards to yellow... you could use brown as a basecoat there or you use a foundation as the first coat...denehb stone works fine for me to get the lighter tones done good...not that it looks as if you have any problems there^^...

as for the cap...either let it stay yellow or go for a black one... that could look quite good^^

by the way...very clean job there!!!

Clean? It is very messy!
But thanks for the nice words!

I have used the yellow foundation (iyanden darksun), but a second layer of it will help.

But my plan was to do the ground layers first and then clean it up afterwards.

well...the building and modeling sure is my main bit on the whole hobby take too...but the mini lives after the paintjob...you only have an empty husk before painting...and i have way to much of these lying around in cupboards and deskdrawers and boxes...

So true Vik!
I don't build new ones because I know would never get them painted.

Okay, I'm really low on mojo now but I managed to paint up the second layer of yellow so now it's better.

Any suggestions on how to do the black armour?

I'm thinking if I should just drybrush them boltgun metal over the black or there is some better suggestions?
