What army list are you playing them as? Can't quite figure it out since you've got SM scouts, IG troopers, and Renegade troopers all together
Gerner wrote:

On a more personal note: how can one be an anarchist and live off of money from the government? Maybe I misinterpreted what you were saying there? Not to be a jerk, of course, just curious...
Anyways, keep up the good work!
Rawson
I find most of the imperial guard heads some what ugly, so I use scout heads and whatever heads I can find instead. They are meant to be good equipped and all of them have either infrared visors or scopes and various other better tech items.
The Sons of Sek i'm just planning to make a small IG list, but the Rzakata Legion is going to be made a home-made codex I think.
No offence taken. Meaning i'm non-political and anarchist means pretty much I'm not interest in politics and I haven't the biggest respect for the law. That doesn't change the fact that I need to do somethings recording to some laws and rules to live here. For example I need to respect that I have to pay for food and shelter, and that is pretty much was my student money goes on.
Thanks, really need the encouragement!

Thanks a lot, I hope you stay around.
Well, all the first ones compromising most of scout parts are dead in an attempt to clean from paint, but the Rzakata I'm sticking with. I really like doing the camouflage part, but sometimes it gets too much and I do something else (like the sons of sek).
I think that "A Conscripts Blog" sounds catchy, but on the other hand it sounds very newbie too. Any hot suggestions?
Galorn wrote:Not too shabby. for axes I'd seriously suggest looking at Beastman, WoC, and Empire Militia bits.
Thanks Galorn. What I have seen of the warhammer axes they are very crude and big. I'm looking for something they could throw and that look a bit more modern.
I'm in the progress of making several Rzakata's and one Son of Sek.
I saw this beast on youtube called Riptide and it got me wondering if I could build anything that looked like it, and if yes what part I should get?

well the title per se is not that bad... but since camo swing so well for you...how about reflecting that in the title...maybe even make a step by step? this could bring lots of attention...
and i read about your nail remover accident...that hurt even when i read it... i can imagine how bad you must´ve felt then...
and yep...camo needs to be replaced once in a while with such vibrant schemes as your sons of sek...maybe you could use that as a title...so mayn options... and yep...i intend to stay^^
as for the riptide tank... my best bet would be either search for a 1:35 tank or go with a chimera kit and some plasticcard and start converting like blazes...the shape seems doable...

Hmn, I will try to think about something smart and catchy.
Have promised a mate to do a step by step camouflage guide, so it will ofcourse come up here as well.
Thanks Viktor, I hope you will enjoy the stay.
Yea, so long I was too. I need to find a good place to buy plasticcard and then get going.
Just finished this guy, he is meant to be a Rzakata Barbarian Sergeant:
No way satisfied, I think I will pop of his upper body, and reuse the legs for another Rzakata.
I have learned, that I need to learn skin probably or take the time to do it right at least. Also the waist needs some love.
Any tips/ideas on painting skin or how I could improve him?

Good idea Viktor.
I think I will try to repaint his skin with a thinned ogryn flesh again and highlight. But if it fails again, I will go for this.
Any good recommendations on how to do it?

These Ranger dudes are really cool conversions! I'm surprised I haven't seen this conversion before. The norm for conversions is usually scout legs with Cadian bodies but I never though about this combo. Great thinking!!

I really need some help to finish these two pieces.
First of I think this small terrain piece need some more colours, but I don't know really what more to add.
And a small free hand warning sign:
Also I need some help to finish this Son of Sek. I think I will give him another coat of sunburst yellow, wash him with ?? and then highlight him with sunburst yellow. Finish his base and do something about his face. All suggestions are appreciated!
(sorry for the blurry picture)
All feedback is much appreciated.

as for the son of sek...sorry...atm i only see a wash that might be helpful...other than that i am a blank...

So while I'm enjoying my pizza for dinner, I thought I would give you an update.
I will maybe get a job soon, making sure I get some more money for the hobby. Finger crossed.
On another note I have painted the Son of Sek finish and taken some picture him, the terrain piece that is also done and my girlfriend stole one with me painting with the pigs.
Here they are:
Son of Sek with lasgun:
Terrain with Sons of Sek:
Me painting with the pigs:
I will continue working on my two Rzakata Legionnaires when I'm done with the pizza.
As always comments and criticism are very welcome!

is that painting pose helpful to you? my back would ache all over that way lol...
and it seems that your pigs are rather fond of your work^^
the son of sek i just regognized has the trigger hand from the scoutsprue... nice idea and i like the look of the hammer still on the lasgun... somehow i think that look is way beter than the original one...
one thing tho... i think the aquilla is standing in the way to call this model finished... on the screenscale it attracts quite a bit of attention...might be otherwise tho on the table...

I have a big handkerchief around my neck, so my back looks weird. It's not that bad. This way the table is closer to me than if I sat on my chair at my desk.
Yea, the lasgun came out really cool. Looking forward to do more of them, unfortunately I don't have more scout bodies.
I see what you mean, but it's hard to see on the model and it might be an imperial gun, he just have defaced. But I will go back and change it at some point. Thanks for pointing it out.
So I got creative, and I thought I would practise my green stuff skills with a try at a truescale space wolf.
Here are the work in progress as I thought I would let the greenstuff stiffen up till tomorrow.
And here with a shot comparison to a normal human.
I don't have any clay shapers, but I hope to acquire some soon.
Also all comments and criticism is welcome since I could use some wise words.

did you sand the parts you greenstuffed? looks like that... i hope you get a smooth finish on these parts... i tried to sand GS and it is really unnerving... maybe add a very thin layer of GS over that? or do you think the primer will hide it all?
one minor thing tho too... there is still some surplus GS in the joint of arm and shoulder/chest... of the chainsword wielding arm... maybe slice it off a bit...
other than that... go for the painting!!! cool looking mini!

@Viktor: I used a small model file and a hoby knife trying to smooth it more out. I first did a normal layer of greenstuff, then painted some liquid greenstuff on and then use the file and hobby knife to try smooth it more out.
Thanks I will look into the joint!
@Chaplain City: Thanks man. I have considered scratching it and just making them black special ops kind of suits.

I'm making an order from wayland games tomorrow (and using their free shipping code), and would like to know if you have any thoughts on something I really had to buy that would fit my rzakata legion, sons of sek or would be good to start some throne agents.
I had planned to by a space marine scout set, Catachan Heavy Weapon Team, Cadian Command Squad and Catachan Command Squad. But as I said I'm really open for suggestions for more experienced people.

If you own liquid greenstuff I have some quick and easy tips for you to get super smooth surfaces:
For bigger gaps always use normal GS.
For smaller areas and surface work use LGS in thin layers.
Apply a suitably small amount of it with a cheap brush directly to the area you're working on. Clean your brush in a glass of water, wipe off the excess water and use the damp brush to spread the LGS over the adjoining surfaces. Let it dry for a couple of minutes and you'll have a super smooth surface, no sanding. (Repeat if the first layer didn't do it.)
Automatically Appended Next Post: Btw: The command squads are pretty much the best plastic boxes for everything imperial, you can't go wrong with those.

@Baiyuan: Thanks for the tip; I will remember it to next time. Because if you just brush the liquid greenstuff on, it can leave brush marks. And thanks for looking by.
@Viktor: Okay, coolio.
I thought that someone might have a suggestion on a plastic set that had a ton of good bits for conversions and customization.

IG Command Squads are the best. Other sets would be much more special, depending on what you're planning to do. Empire Flagellants are great. Everything GK has the nicest bitz. But then again, don't ask me, I buy one plastic box after another, just for the bitz. I've almost completed my collection of the plastic troop boxes from WFB and 40k. I just love to browse through the bitz without worrying about shipping time and actual appearance once you have it in hands.

Hello ladies and gentlemen.
Just to prove that I am not dead, here are some WIP of my truescale space wolf.
(The stripes on his chainsword is a killer to do.)
I am going to paint his base now, and then going to give him a devlan mud wash.
Any critique or suggestions before the wash comes on?
@Bayiyuan: I also find most bitz sites have sold out of the bitz I need.

Thanks Captainsolstice, I did notice that when I got the pictures up here.
I have painted the base and given him the wash.
Barrel will be drilled shortly.
I tend to do highlights after washes, and will do that tonight as well.
Else I hope to try some battle damage on him and some snow with baking powder.
I think I can get done before I go to bed.
