WI is in for a treat this year, Baseball and football
Putting a lot of faith in the Twins?
oops... I guess he means the Brewers.... don't care as long as the Phillies win.

Crazy ending to the Brewers game. Nice to win game 5 at home like that.
On football, Houston gets the Raiders this weekend. I guess we'll see how well we can play without Andre Johnson. That's a huge loss for us. Can't wait to get him back.

And what does Aaron have that Favre will never have? A Super Bowl ring, and for now, class.
Favre has also done a number of things that I doubt Rodgers will:
Favre's start streak will likely never be broken, not by a QB at least (every other player on the list is a lineman, except Derick Brooks)
Favre's passing TD record will likely not be broken, at least not by Rodgers, the same goes for INTs though as they basically go hand in hand (also, its extremely rare to see a starting QB play for 19 seasons, and will likely become more so).
Its also unlikely that his record for times sacked will ever be broken, by Rodgers or anyone else (granted, this had a lot to do with the state of the game in Favre's day).

IDK.... Philly and Vick might make a run for it, the way they been playing.

Rodgers has a passer rating of 100.5, started a new celebration that the team and fans use "the championship belt", and of course has tied for number of Super Bowl Rings. If Rodgers takes the Packers to another Super Bowl and wins then he sets a new record.
I have a soft spot for Favre, I loved watching him play when I was younger and my mom would always say that Favre would save the day or screw it up entirely. He would break receiver's fingers with how hard he could throw the ball, and Rodgers is shaping up to be just as great a quarterback. Should he also stay in the game for 20 years I can see Rodgers reaching some of Favre's statistics, part of me hopes he does but part of me hopes that Favre keeps some of his because he was that much a part of my childhood every fall.

The Eagles have, no joke, one of the worst O-lines I've ever seen, and I'm a Bears fan who played D3 college football.
Been a problem for a while.... and the new line coach wants smaller "more athletic" linemen.... not as effective against the bigger d-linemen that are the way most teams are going.

The issue is that a lot of Favre's records came as a result of confidence, or arrogance as some say. Rodgers seems to be more in the vein of a Brady, or a Sanchez.

That depends on the blocking scheme.
Zone-Cut works with a small O-line so long as the opposition doesn't also have stellar DBs.
That said, there is a definite question, in the NFL, regarding how the O-Line can compete in a league where guys like Peppers (in his prime), Freeney (again, in his 4.3 prime), and Williams are the norm.

Philly's O-line has been getting manhandled. They have no size, no power. Their disasters at the goalline show that they cannot get any push or penetration. Outside the 20 they can make plays with speed... but redzone, they haven't been as good. Sometimes a bit of size and push is what is needed.

Justice? are you kidding? Peters is probably the best they have fielded so far. With Peters out, we will see if Dunlap can do anything.... last season he looked worse than Devan.
They are also finally starting Watkins, which should be an improvement.

The Eagles are breaking my heart too helgrenze, but hopefully the stupid sports writers will finally lay off of that annoying "dream team" moniker. I hate that crap! Young team . . . some of the players probably believed it.
I think changing both offensive and defensive line coaches and philosophies this year has been really confusing.
By no means are our players on the Oline all pros (other than Peters), but I like Kelce and our left guard has been playing very well at right tackle.
Since the problems are mostly coaching and errors, I still think we have a chance to correct things, but a winning year will be at best 10-6 or 9-7 and unlikely to win the NFC East. . . sucks!

BoM Yeah.. And Peters and Cole are sidelined.... One thing that has been noticed is that there really isn't anyone stepping up into a leadership role... on either side of the ball.
And I agree, on lot of the bad plays, the players seemed to be confused, some of them were even WALKING during live plays.

As an Eagles fan I am upset about the injuries to Cole and Peters, but as an NFL fan I can see that other teams got it worse.
As an NFL fan I also love all the young up and coming teams, it is exciting to see teams that have struggled for a long while getting it together, like the Lions and the Buccaneers. I don't mind seeing the long-time winners like the Colts struggle a little but I hate knowing Manning is so hurt, would not wish that on anybody (. . . not playing for the Cowboys that is. lol)

As crazy as he may have seemed at the end... He was still an important part of the NFL. He was one of the guys that kept Jerry Jones in check.

Guys that have played with him have named him as solid. I've trained guys that have named him as solid.
I've seen his technique too, and its solid. He gets blamed because he was a high pick, and people in Philly who don't know anything about football want to have an opinion.

Which is why he was listed as second team behind Herremans at RT, of course that may have something to do with his being injury prone. He played only one full season, 2009, and made the "all Joes" squad, meaning he was "solid" but not a standout.
Admittedly, he was an improvement over Shawn Andrews, but then just about anyone would have been. But considering who held that position before, Jon Runyan, and after, Todd Herremans, he really doesn't stack up.

Ah, so you're new to the NFL I see. It is a league where perception matters as much as reality, especially in certain markets.
Did you think skill was the only important variable?

Rodgers seems kind of confident, and both of them seem like they're having fun even if they get hit. The Packers have had the tendency to pick up good quarterbacks so I don't see why Rodgers won't be any different, he seems confident and is able to make plays like Favre, hell Rodgers is one of the few quarterbacks to run in two touchdowns and get two pass touchdowns in the same game. Now he's not as good as Favre yet, but he has the potential to be as good.
Time will tell though. Vick had a hell of an arm and its a shame he messed up in his extracurricular activities.

Ok. Dogma... Your Credentials? Really.
His first game, NYG Osi Umenyiora ran all over Justice, resulting in 4 sacks. His second game He went against Julius Peppers who was coming off an injury and did passable work. He became a full time starter when Shawn Andrews went out due to his back. He did ok but wasn't a standout and was replaced as soon as possible by Herremans. This wasn't due to some "perception". This was due to Herremans being better at the position than Justice.
As for Justice... He started 30 of the 41 games he played in, most of those coming in 2009 when he replaced Andrews. He has been with the Eagles for 6 seasons (96 games not including post season.) meaning he hasn't played in half the games he was technically elegable for.
He regularly gets pushed around when he is on the field... again, this isn't perception, I have seen the games and the coaches footage.
Perception has little to do with who gets the job... but it helps with who gets to stay on the team. Winston Justice is most likely trade bait at the end of this season... IF he proves to be healthy enough to play at all this one.
As for my "Being new to the NFL", I have been following the Eagles since before Dick Vermeil was the coach. I can tell you that Ron Jaworski was a mediocre QB who had one of the best RB/WR combos in Eagles History in Wilbert Montgomery and Harold Carmichael. That the actual "big play" made by Vince Papale at the end of the movie 'Invincible' wasn't what really happened... he really kinda stumbled the 5-10 yards after picking up the ball.

It is pretty sweet to see the teams that have been in the toilet bowl FOREVER it seems finally getting big wins. Although it can only be expected when you get the first pick in every season for years

Herremans didn't replace Justice in the sense you appear to believe. Andrews went down and Justice was moved to the front side, which left Herremans to play LT. This has since changed with the injury to Justice, though its telling that the Eagles kept him at Vick's back prior to the knee.

That's nice, but so does the rest of the Eagles' O-Line, and yet everyone tries to find ways to dog Justice; like pretending Herreman replaced him.

As crazy as he may have seemed at the end... He was still an important part of the NFL. He was one of the guys that kept Jerry Jones in check.
I've read that he was actually a likeable man in person and had a lot of people had a lot of good to say about him before he passed. Personally I like crazies in sports so I never had a problem with him . . . of course I am not part of Raider Nation either.
Interesting about the Jerry Jones comparison, I must say as a Eagles fan I've always had a distinct dislike for the man, but I never saw him as crazy until he felt the need in the offseason to say that Namdi's heart was in Dallas. What was the point of that? Made him look a little . . . off his rocker. He may very well be taking over Mr. Davis as the over-the-top owner in the NFL.

Jason Peters.... same as this year and 2009..... next? Andrews was dropped in March and got picked up by the Giants where he took up bench space for most of the season, just like he did in Philly. Herremans was moved from Rt Guard to Rt Tackle because he played better at that position.
Seems you don't even know which player you are talking about.
Now keep your eyes on #74.. Thats your man Justice getting beat by Clay Matthews after the TE push and go. Notice how he plays off instead of attacking Matthews.
Here he is at the end of the season helping the Eagles go from a 1st and 10 to a 1st and 25... then getting beat.... yup looks "solid" there....
It should be noted tah Michael Vick is Left-handed, which is why you see Justice, the RT, on his blindside.

You know, I rather like Clay Matthews. He did a fantastic showing last year as did Shields, Woodson, and Hawk.
Now there's a lot to be said about defense and offense, but the Packers are able to score while on both sides of the ball which isn't the best thing to hear when you're going up against them.
The Lions are just a huge surprise though, never thought they would ever be 4-0.
Yeah... I think the Juan Castillo experiment is about over. They might move Washburn up to DC.
