For me, my current holy grail would be one of the 2nd edition tyranid screamer-killers.
They still go for ~£20 on ebay, so my grail is to be put off for a while...

Specifically the officer figures and figures with needlers and autoguns. I've got most of the range, but I'd really like to have them all.
Officers
Needlers
Autoguns
The problem isn't price, as Metal Magic Spacelords figs don't seem to have a great resale value, it's availability. I just can't seem to find any. The one's below are the ones I have. If anyone knows where I can find more...

Hmm, I think at this point it'd be:
ROC Lost and the Damned (I got slaves to darkness from my rooomate in interest for late rent)
A complete squad of the old metal Eldar jetbikes. I'm actually pretty close, but most of the parts you can find are for the shurican cannon, not catapult, or have harliquin riders.
Rogue Trader era demons. I have a few plague bearers, three lords of change, a Keeper of secrets, and a Great Unclean one so far. I like the idea of having a squad each of the original models.

For a long time it was these guys:

Then it was this guy:
... but I found one on eBay for a decent price.
The truth is I've never had much trouble getting hold of limited edition models be they old or new.
But the models I'm left looking for are:
Sicarius (the original one).
... and this guy:
There's nothing all that special about that guy, I just love the pose. Automatically Appended Next Post: Worglock wrote:I have all of the Rogue Trader books.

Well, I'm pretty sure most etiquette guides would suggest that the rudeness of others does not excuse your own.
I'm not sure rude is the best word for your post, but it was certainly... self aggrandizing? Smug?

They were full mutli part, separate arms, heads, torsos and legs. They also had the classic "slash and puff" clothing which made them stand out so well.
The current soldiers are monopose models with arms and heads separate(and a crap ton of ridiculous embellishments all over the place) and look like they are wearing pajamas. One of them even has no shoes on.
Almost every Empire veteran agrees that the older infantry were worlds better than the current monkey heads.

Actually, no, you know what my actual holy grail is? Imperial Robots. I'd love to get a pair of each type of Imperial Robot. My AdMech army would love them. You're one of those people who thinks that "Disliking GW" = "Disliking 40K". It all makes sense now. Hopefully one day you'll grow out of this phase.

I got a stonking deal on those when I was a kid, I picked up about 90 of the little plastic buggers and all the metal command, commissars, roughriders, heavy weapons and the like for $30 dollars canadian from someone who was rage quiting back in 91 or so. The whole bloody box was filled to the brim with IG stuff and random models from that era ...I so wish I kept them but then GW came up with the insane idea that you could only play with the 'newest releases' of figgies in the store so I rage quit and sold them all. Sighs, but a army of the necromunda spiders just looks so damn impressive especially with all the RT-ear officers and commissars.
