I've also discovered that the little boxes my wife's asthma medication comes in are good for making some of Tommygun's shipping containers (I had to change the print percentages) and Topo's iKubes (the boxes are a little too wide and a little short (2-3mm or so) but it's not enough to make that much of a difference when you have access to so many of them.
I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.
That is not dead which can eternal lie ...
... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.
Added a removable roof. I have the option of a different roof style or styles for different settings -- may keep this one for Ariadna, and do a slightly higher-tech flat one for Yu Jing / Pan O, and a more adobe-ish flat, walled, one for Haqq.
Without a flat roof and/or places to hide/position on the roof, as well as with 'blacked out windows', this seems to be more of a LoS blocking type of terrain piece - and a nice one at that!
Ta. Yeah, the roof is flat enough in the centre so that you could stand a model on it, but there's no ladder or walkway -- you would have to may Phys rolls or use Climbing Plus to get there, and then... no cover. Most of my other terrain has more accessible rooftops, so a mix seemed good.
The windows in theory could be shot through from the inside... one could assume that the shooter moved the blinds out the way. On the ground floor I'm going to assume you can shoot in or out -- I would have liked to have removed the cardboard between the gels, but felt that would have damaged the structural integrity a bit much! There will be 2 entrances to the ground floor, though, and one from the ground straight up the stairs to the upper floor, so it does slightly more than LOS-block in that you can enter if need be.
Also note the pillars for taking cover, all along the front and back wall -- this breaks up the long sides a bit.
Wow what a wonderful piece of terrain! That should make a great centre-piece, and I love the idea of removable roofs!
My only concern would be with adventurous models making their way to the roof, and then ski-jumping off the side of it if positioned poorly! I can completely understand not wanting to make it a sniper's perch up there however.
Very cool, i think the idea of snipers pulling to the blinds back to shoot is great, but have a couter rule like decreaed BS because its so quick so the enemy can't see

One of the guys on the Infinity forum posted about these plastic boxes at the Container store. He then went and bought like 20 of them on sale for about $2 each. Put on some stickers for windows painted them and then pulled off the stickers. The roof was done with a textured paint.
Sorry to drag this up - but those 'plastic box buildings' are brilliant! simple yet effective. Wouldn't happen to have a link as to where the boxes can be purchased from? I've searched The Container store but I can't seem to find them.
Those aren't to bad looking. My favorite are still the sarrisa precision though. Not if only I can find a second job to fund all these things for Infinity that I want.
Okay guys, I need some help here. I'm looking for terrain to use for Infinity that can fit a medieval setting. Basically I want it to be both usable as an Ariadnan outpost and our DnD campaign. I was thinking if there are fantasy-ish buildings that can also be good for a game of Infinity: some normal cottages are okay but I would like to at least have some variety with elevation, partial covers and such.
Awesome stuff Alpharius, thanks for posting that link!
Their website appears to be down at the moment, although looking on TTGC the larger building in particular looks pretty good! A little spartan perhaps compared to the Sarissa/MaS offerings, but I think definitely a lot of potential there. In particular, I could imagine putting some kind of minaret on the roof and making some kind Haqqislam world. Hopefully the prices will be reasonable (perhaps my one criticism of the hardwood stuff out there at the moment.. it is not cheap to fill out the board with that stuff!)
heartserenade, that sounds an interesting idea for a board. I would question that the Ariadnians would have buildings like that - I would imagine their settlements to be something like the buildings in Terra Nova (and perhaps the new ones posted above?) The colony ships would have brought basic processing materials and machines with them to create utilitarian/simple but modern looking structures, even though they were cut off from supply. But, perhaps you could say they are from some outlying settlement or some such like? Am I thinking too much into this.. ?
For me, Ariadna probably has log cabins and similar structures in outlying areas. I don't see them doing much in the way of traditional medieval town stuff like wattle-and-daub houses, but log cabins, woodsman's huts, lean-tos, etc., could all work.
Just felt it good to mention I ordered ~100$ at Sarissa on last tuesday and I received the order today.
Free shipping
No customs to pay
Great terrain
Way to go Sarissa !
Got those buildings made and painted yet Von Skyfury?
Just some small accessories for my board, some smoke markers and building details. There are more details on my blog (accessible through my signature), but for here just the pics:
I really really like what you did on the wall of your MAS appartment !
Most of my terrain has been made, but not painted unfortunately =P
I dsay <1% of my stuff is painted haha
I might set up my table to show you how awesome Sarissa and MAS (and soon a Warmill PUP !) are =P
Or might actually prime every terrain piece before doing so =P

Not sure if this was posted yet, but it's inspirational nonetheless.

There is a Spanish brand making plastic scenery for different settings. You might like them. This days they are pretty cheap, they are offering a 18% discount. Sadly the website is in Spanish, so you might not understand descriptions and such.
