Really it's the only reasonably priced thing GW sells. It's a high quality, large, hard cover volume. Books for college often cost more.

Standard Codex's are far too much though, but I suspect GW may remedy that by going the Fantasy route and making them hard cover/colorized. The current ones for 40K though really shouldn't surpass the $18 mark.

Cuz we all know dark angels is the worst out there if psykers get buffed. DE are already updated meaning no psyker upgrades unless a white dwarf section comes out. Tau might since they haven't been updated yet. Necrons have no psykers. Besides, defense against a psyker, Eldar and GK are the only real anti psykers. A tanks the only defense I need. Psyker is not gonna survive much from a s 9 ap 2 weapon. Or even meltas and missles.
Psyker powers may get a buff, but I really dobt psykers are gonna be that amazong. Also, how are psyker powers gonna be random when many armies have loked powers on special characters and powers are bought as well?

Is this a teaser for Privateer Press, Warmachine/Hordes?

I mean these teasers are so insulting and STUPID, it is making me feel like I should be going to PP full time. Talk about being so excited for 6th edition, but now, I am getting turned off on it from these stupid "teaser trailers".

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.

I don't chime in on the rumor discussion much because I feel like it's usually an exercise in futility, but after I watched that I couldn't help myself.

That was the dumbest teaser I have ever seen. I mean seriously, what the hell was that? They showed a picture that might as well have been a turd for ten seconds with a not-so-ominous Latin chant. I'm not even sure what I was looking at. I think it was a statue of a space marine. I'm embarrassed that I wasted 27 seconds to watch that. I'm glad I did it alone because if someone had been with me and I showed any sort of interest or excitement about viewing the video then I would be back peddling right now. I would be like "Oh that? That's uh... some video for... Warmachine or something. I don't know - it's some kind of nerd thing. Can you believe mouthbreathers actually get excited about these things. Jeez."

I want my 27 seconds back.

I’m beginning to think that I should give GW a break on the advertising/promotion front. Perhaps the reason they don’t go out there and promote their own products is due to the fact that they’re fething terrible at it.

Wait... which office? The GW offices? Do even the people working at GW not know what's coming?

I also hope you're right about the BRB, I'd love to see another good book on my shelf, but for now ,as a pessimist, I'm going to settle with the starter set book.

See, that's the thing. If you don't have your own marketing guys, then you hire a studio who makes a job of it. You don't throw out an unprofessional piece of trash like that.

Just don't feel like being treated like a little stupid kid who has to be told that THEY SHOULD BE EXCITED FOR THIS.

Psykers! No apostrophes in plurals!

Fantasy has armies that don't have magic (Dwarves anyway) and I'm sure 40k will keep getting on with units that don't have psychic powers. I doubt I'll be taking them anyway, as I'm not big on psykers.

Runnin up on ya.

I'm hoping the emphasis on psykers doesn't mean my Tau stay on the self for another 4 years...

You all can keep the 400 pages of poorly written story and pretty pictures, I'll buy the pamphlet book when the starter comes out and continue playing fantasy in the interim.

Six mistakes mankind keeps making century after century: Believing that personal gain is made by crushing others; Worrying about things that cannot be changed or corrected; Insisting that a thing is impossible because we cannot accomplish it; Refusing to set aside trivial preferences; Neglecting development and refinement of the mind; Attempting to compel others to believe and live as we do

Yeah but my fantasy armies actually have magic and/or resistance to said. To my knowledge, you can't buy an obsidian shard in 40k and if there's a psychic hood in my Tau codex, I've completely missed it all this time.

Guys seriously. How in the world can 40k have random psyker powers? Special character psykers have set powers and the other's all have to buy them. Dark Eldar were the first to see the flyers so theoretically they were the first to be set up for 6th. Meaning GK's are too. And they have set powers.

Having never purchased a WHFB book I would have no idea. I saw the sticker price on the not so new C:SM and compared it to the sticker on mine, as if the minis aren't bad enough. I'll bitch about it plenty but when the time comes I'll gladly laydown the money. It just seems like Gw is actively trying to make me join the whiny price hike quitters club, you know because I have to buy food.

Good lord people are getting upset by a video. I don't think GW think they are fooling anyone, given that they have sent out price lists and told 3rd party sellers they can start advertising pre orders. They know we know and the advert is clear what it is for. I guess store staff are just not sure how much they can say so would rather give you a polite go away than risk getting futher questions.

The price seems fine to me. Never mind college books I have cook books that cost that much. I agree about the college books though. I have $200 approx engineering textbooks which i opend 2-3 times. For what it is it seems like a fair price.

If there is a focus on psychic powers I hope Tau don't get on the bandwagon, but instead stick to their fluff and be immune to mental attacks, and have some resistance to physical psychic attacks.

But of course, they already have written stuff in all the fluff that will give them a source of a psycher
