I don't really want to have some anti-psyker models/powers as a must-take in my army :(

For the sake of everbody that loves 40k, I only hope that psychic powers doesn't wreck 40k the way revamped magic IMO did for fantasy.

Any magic powers should be there as a tactical aid, not as the means to victory i.e rolling two 6s. You all know what I mean

The teaser is for the 6th Edition Rulebook. The Psychic Cards are a suplement to the rulebook 'for fun'. The same way people make cool objective markers instead of using dice or tokens.

The Navigator is two things. #1 it confirms the focus on psychic powers in 6th, and #2 it hints at a major event in the fluff of the 40K Universe. There has been a lot of rumours about a new Chaos codex, the new boxset featuring Chaos, and now this sudden appearance of Navigators who are linked both to the Warp and the Emperor. I would vouch for something big happening with 6th...

Just noticed another thing.

The sound in the teaser- when the Navigator appears you hear a choir. The Astronomicon is described as sounding like a choir. Then there is a flash of light and the choir is silenced and replaced with hushed echoes. Could something be about to happen to the Astronomicon/Emperor?

The Golden Throne is going to crap out, as mentioned in the 5th edition BRB.

What GW wants it to do: Internet going "Ooh aah, what's all this then?"

What it actually did: Collective gamers on the Internet look at it and say "Ho hum, another trailer for 6th ed. Just admit it and release the fething thing!"

So either this is a teaser for a launch, which is unlikely, or its a teaser for a preorder. Either way, its stupid on so many levels. Why do people insist on hyping up an announcement. Just announce the damn thing.

IMO, 8th ed magic has become the "Great Equalizer" for a lot of armies to use it since most armies have access to at least one good lore (with the exception of Dwarves of course but then again they may get magic when their new book comes out since they have Cataclysmic spells already or just keep trudging through being pure anti-magic).

The problem with 40k though is the game was not heavily locked down in previous editions where most races had access to their own lores and a pool of lores that could be easily updated when a new book came out. 40k has races all over the board in terms with how good psykers are to non-existent ones. So to bring the races more in balance will require a huge overhaul to me.

I'm not going to jump on the doom wagon until I see the book in front of me, but I do hope that GW realizes that 40k psychics is going to require alot more finesse to implement right in terms of balance. And if not, then this is going to be an interesting few years ahead of us filled with headaches and crying over old armies.

8th edition for Fantasy gave me hope for the future (even if DOW has been crushed fully), hopefully 40k will too.

Who knows? The staff at my local are saying it's for a line of soft drinks (yes, really). Although we're all aware they're being completely facetious in all of this, it brings up a bigger issue, apparently the staff literally have NO IDEA on what it is, they just know it's something to do with 40k so they're just making gak up to tell customer to find out on friday when they do... (or at the very least that's the company line they're towing)

Well, Dwarves had wizards as recently as Third Edition...

And, considering how radically 8th fantasy differed from previous editions, there really is no reason to believe that 5th 40K won't have equally dramatic differences from prior editions.

My local won't straight say its 6th but if you ask the right way they do tell you in a roundabout way. Also, all gw stores should know as thye have a "class" on the new rules so they can answer all questions. I still think its silly to hype up an announcement. Either do it or don't, but don't be obvious and like gw and say "we are announcing 6th edition on saturday but we can't tell you its 6th edition till saturday"

lol and funny think about it is that someone actually get paid for doing these teaser at GW.

well my local GW opened up about 3 months ago, and they are having a "grand opening" celebration on the 23rd, and my GW guy just keeps saying "its something big for 40k, but I have no idea what it is."

Sure, they just happened to coincidentaly save the grand opening celebration for the announcing day, which to me means that they have known the release date for over 3 months

Yup, they are horrible at hiding what they can't tell us. Like the whole 5th edition rulebook being taken off shelves. Ask directly you get "we can't say" but if ask indirectly you get answers. You just need to piece it together yourself. 9/10 times you'll be right.
