that is sexy looking and you know it... damn you...i imagie this as the texture for the sewers now...argh... i get a creativity boner from that...to tell you the truth... only one thing that can get close to the coolness of rivets... and thats brickwork...
so if you could get that big rolls of cardboard carpets are transported rolled around then i think you have the means to get this thing...rolling!^^

Ahh, foamcore is hard to explain, it is foam sandwiched between two layers of card.

I think also some wire conduits and electrical boxes with seals on them to show when the Adeptus Mechanicus last worked on/repaired things.

Very nice. Thought I would say make it a bit deeper. Maybe 1.5, maybe 2 inches? It looks very cool, though.

hm... maybe 2 then. I'm just thinking of figures passing each other as well as extra room for details and barrels and whatever. Having the passage way only deep enough for one figure just doesn't seem like enough to me. Will there bee a layer of water... I mean sewage "in-front" of this piece?

oo nice use of underground sewers, only problem is since it is necromunda i feel like there would be little settlements and buildings down there, which could give you some more possibilities

That's what I'm talking about, Rogue Wolves. Although, there could be thinner and wider sections of this sewer. It could bottleneck in sections like this first piece, where one tough model could hold up an entire unit of storm troopers, because they are forced to engage him 1 by 1. That whole Spartan thing.

I suppose, what I'm trying to say is that there is a dangerous amount of possibilities for this sewer of yours. I love it!

Thanks guys! All the enthusiasm is surprising! I'll have to agree, this looks more like a subway or underground train access walkway. But the narrowness of the path can't be all that bad right? Think of it in game terms.

Of course, we all know that one shot from that guy's melta would of course cause a complete cave-in, melting the flesh off of anyone not killed by the cave-in, but ignore that.

As far as widening the walkway goes. Well, this is a cross-section of 1/2 of a full tunnel. The full tunnel would be twice as wide, but then if it were twice as wide it would no longer be a cross-section, but a full tunnel.

Coincidence here, I have been dreaming of an industrial/urban table with a upper and lower level for a while. I'm really liking the concepts so far, and I can't wait to see how this is going to work out. I would love to see a "full arch" tunnel to complete the look of a subway. I'd love to see a train that could go around below the table (another thing I am thinking of building into my table). That would just be awesome! For inspiration, go to YouTube and search "imperial armored train".
Just some food for distraction. Hehehehehe

Looking epic as always , what I think you should do, is make hand rails and lamps, as well as motivational posters would look cool. You could also do little extras like rats underneath themain tunnel. Keep up the good work!

Whys he got so many nipples?

I agree though, the depth of the walkway needs to be increased, both to add to the sense of the "tunnel, and to increase the potential for game play. It probably needs to be about 2 inches deep so 2 25mm bases can pass each other, or one 40mm one can traverse it.

I'd also love to see a "sump" type of terrain piece, like ground zero almost, just a giant hole in the ground that the pipes feed into that could be shot down into from the higher building and towers you've done. I would make for a great ambush scenario too.

Those are rivets, not nipples. Vik was raised suckling on rivets.
Why does that Van Saar NOT have a beard Vik? lol

Question, WHY do models need to pass each other in a cramped sewer?

They don't Necromunda has a complex enough set of rules to allow & compensate for terrain like this.

I would recommend extending the bottom by about a 1/4 inch, but I would do it by adding a piece to the bottom of the existing mock up. Basically building up an area for critters to crawl out of and for liquid to be flowing during normal times.

HAHA Don't I wish! It's just regular foamcore, one side peeled. I used a straightedge and a sharp ball point pen to carve right into the exposed foam. Then I went over it again with the scratch awl to deepen the grooves for bending. I showed the pic earlier in the thread, testerday, saturday.

OK, we need to remember SCALE here. What I have done, is more like a narrow, 1-man tunnel like this

But this is the Underhive of just one hive of an entire hive world!
so dream big, but remember, it all has to be playable in a 3" space from top to bottom, ok.

Now, take this real-world concept

and add rivets!

Ok, this section doesn't NEED to be wider, but I think it is called for in another section perhaps. Also, I don't think it HAS to be playable to be rock hard awesome sauce. Like those huge pipes. I don't think those would be playable but they would add so much to the scene, to have the backdrop go a further inch or two under the tab;e and just be dark, dank and disused electric and water works. But again, that doesn't have to be the whole hing. It could be fun to do in one or two sections but maybe too over the top to do more than that.

It is just one hive, among many. It is sure to have many tunnels in it's depths, of which this is but one.

Those are some amazing reference pics by the way.
