Heh, I never had issues with resin wings from Forgeworld, even on the Hive Tyrant. That single leg taking all the weight, however, has been snapped and pinned already.

I used mine for old conversion and yes the leg is a problem

Well I probs buy a tryant and tervigon kit hope the Don't do a stormraven and have a horrible looking model .

So on the GW British website is fine cast resin tyrants (£36) and hive guard.....FINE CAST ZOANTHROPES (has this been there for ages or have a I been missing something).
Also pyrovore, lictor and venomthrope. (All finecast)

Am I missing something? When did GW replace a large hunk of their metal models with finecast resin?

...uh...when Finecast came out. None of that is new.

If now released in plastic, this will mean that there has been a different model for the Hive Tyrant for each edition of the game in which it has featured. Would that be a unique achievement, or have there been other miniatures which have been so frequently updated and replaced?

At least a Finecost Red Terror will be easier to put together (and harder to break). Shame you'll have to buy 6 of them before you get a good version.

Aye, with a lot of 1-3 unit choices in finecast, Tyranids is one of the more expensive armies to play currently, for the amount of models you get.

My hopes for a damn resin bits pack have come true. Watch them be the 2nd edition ones.

The Ripper Swarm Brood had me laughing. The cost per base of that? May as well buy Forgeworld. Sure, those Rippers make nifty Spinefist Rippers....

That's why I bought the metal versions of them from Ebay!

Thunderwolves look extra silly. Fenris Wolves, pretty good. Marked improvement over the old. Hive Tyrant has an even bigger nose-blade, if that's possible.
