How loud is your compressor when you use it? Just wondering how valuable a compressor with a tank is .

pretty quiet 59db. I have been looking to upgrade to a tank compressor and finding one that is quiet enough to have in my room.

Thats exactly what I was wondering, thinking about airbrushing my next army but most likely would have the airbrush inside... it gets cold here But ya that doesnt seem too bad.

Those salamanders look top notch tho.

Those vanguard guys look like christmas...green and red. That's funny. That is beautiful work. Wish I could paint half as well.

I just purchased this aircompressor and was amazed at how quite it is: http://www.iwata-medea.com/index.php/products/power_jet/. I am pretty sure I could operate this in a nursery without any fear of waking the babies.

Question for you 'L'.

Have you used any acrylic paint on primers that were any good. Sometimes, I have a model that for some reason or another is painted, and I had previously glued on a non pianted part to it. Back in the days, GW had "smelly primer" which did OK, but they don't sell it anymore.

Vallejo Model color has a white primer that is fantastic for that. Gesso is ok but the dry time is what keeps me from using the stuff. But definitely try out some VGC white primer.

My own opinion of my "table top" quality miniatures just dropped through the floor after seeing those sallies. I'm a sad panda. :(

Great job. Your work constantly amazes me, and I would definitely hire you to do my tyranids if I wasn't so gosh-darned poor.

Why am I not suprised that your "tabletop" quality is better than my best efforts? Those marines are extreamly well done.

Did you use an airbrush for them?

Thanks! No airbrush on them. They were all painted using the techniques from the salamanders tutorial video. Glad you like them

Amazing stuff, Been following these for awhile now.

Have you had a chance to try any full metalic marines? Im having the hardest time to find a good way of painting my pre-heresy Iron Warriors. I love the dirty "in the trench" marines that you do, but my IWs keep looking to shiny

Hi, first off, those Salamanders are quite stunning, kinda makes me wanna try your tutorial.
I went looking for the minis on GW, but cant find those with the "spiked" shoulderpad, like yours, are they FW, custom or am I looking in the wrong place?

Found them now, I just sucked at scrolling far enough down :\

Anyway, nice painting, really got me inspired and hooked on assembling/painting my minis again.

Some models I'm playing around with.

Just so you know I haven't stopped

I basically tried to airbrush all the cloth on this model, picked out a couple details to see how I liked it broken up a bit and stopped. This model is still WIP.

I did the cloth on this with airbrush as well but found that the Vallejo Model Air Metallics are my new favorite metallics (the pigments are 1/10th the size of the regular metallic paints so the finish is highly reflective). The gold on this guy look a lot like C3PO The Gold has a wash of Tamiya Smoke on it. This model was just for testing.

And my Black Templars redux looking less and less like black templars lol. All the models are WIP.

ALSO.......... soon there will be a tutorial on using oil paints for various effects. Example, check the thunder hammers on these 2 terminators I used for testing. I will show you how it's done. Each hammer took about 5 minutes to do.

The fex looks great, but you should have done it in this variation of Behemoth.

Refering to the Zoanthrope, that is.
