Hey Dakka , good to see you all again

Finally finished a pretty sub par Pimp My wizard entry , had lots on my plate this summer and i never really got going with the project like i wished i could have. Having said that , i do like the model , its sloppy and lazy , but i still think it captures a feeling and evokes a mood that i wanted to convey , painting and modelling wise and unfortunately photography wise she is pretty bleh my camera died on me and i had to use a video stills

I think she will make a fine succubus for samael though and i am looking forward to finishing off the lillin to go with her . I had some cool ideas throughout the project for their under-hive enemies the Herakles Goliath's who sail the sump in an old barge named the Arga








Lilitu

Chapter One “pick a card, any card”

The Psyker pulled a third card from the deck , the psychoactive liquid-crystal wafer glowed a deep blue before crackling into bright white... The Lost Child . Four Acolytes watched intently as the old man methodically arranged the incomprehensible pack in front of him. The Inquistorial training barely holding back their rampant probing thoughts. “ A mariner always checks the weather before he sets sail ” The Venerable Inquisitors Vendrakes words formed a collective memory amongst his disciples.

“Next card, hurry “ Uxley gibbed, as impatient as ever .

“Some things cannot be rushed child ” , the Primaris chastised .
“Would you rather I make some mistake , perhaps read the cards inverted?”

“No Primaris “ Please forgive our enthusiasm, we only wish to bring an end to this puzzle.....for the Emperors sake. “ added belatedly.

“I understand that you are anxious to complete your task, I even find you ambition refreshing, But overeagerness can lead to mistakes … And I wouldn’t want any of you to come to harm from an over zealous reading. Don’t hurry to your deaths so easily, You best serve the emperor in life.”

Now this is interesting... The Great Eye ! I haven’t seen that one in a while. The acolytes pallor dropped from pale to deathly white.

“Make no assumptions yet … the reading is far from over”

“And finally .. The daemon “

The room fell silent, You didn’t have to be a to be a Psyker to realise that this was not a good omen.

“The Great Eye signifier holds that , you will be facing one of the ruinous powers , the fallen angel and lost child indicate , an Astartes is involved .The seeded Chalice hmm.. of that I am not too sure. I presume the “beast with two backs” is at play. And finally the Deamon card. Well that is plainly obvious, alongside the Great Eye. “ The Primaris lowered his tone and turned to face the Acolytes, This is going to be very tough for you, I suggest extreme caution. The cards were not clear about which powers are involved, but you must assume it could be all four of them, although I sense a female is involved somehow. I suggest you hold prayer before descending into the hive.

May the Emperor have mercy on your souls.






Chapter Two succubus

Tears rolled down the old warriors cheek whilst silent sobs echoed forlornly in his stalwart heart.

“Their, their dear.. No need for the tears, this is a joyous occasion. “

Her silky words ran viscous sweet honey through his thoughts. Dripping warmth like a hot tap in a cold bath, whilst clouding his mind and beguiling his senses.

“But..”

“No need to think darling, just enjoy the fruits of our endeavours. Your a great man , and you will be a great father.

“Fa..ther...” the words seemed distant and yet still familiar....Patriarch...?

Look Samael we have a lovely baby girl, what shall we call her?

“G..i..rl...err..er..”

“Never mind dear. You rest yourself, you have worked hard. I shall do the thinking for both of us..

Chapter Three “if you go down to the woods tonight your sure to get a surprise”


Uxley thumbed the Auspex, and watched as it flickered into life. The static green screen giving an ominous glow in the darkness of the under hive.

Uxley “Where are the Arbites?” The young Acolytes impatience getting the better of him again.

Sung “ They said they will be here , so they will be here. I doubt even Lord Helmawr would dare to incur the wrath of Vendrake.”

Loxez rubbed a mail gloved hand over his carbine, Clearing the dust and grime that had accumulated during the firefight.
“Where the feth , did those Escher spring from ? I knew we couldn’t trust Jerico.”

Socrates “We had no choice “. Their was no way of getting this far into their territory without his help, we would have ended up like those Goliaths we saw by the sump.”

Uxley “ Well , unless you were asleep these last ten minutes, you may have noticed we just nearly did!!”

Loxez “ Sung's right , all we have to do is wait , Uxley sent the vox, now we just sit on our hand and wait for back up.


Socrates “I don’t think waiting is an option.. look up there!”

The group turned to Socrates and strained their eyes into the gloom. Beyond the Waste and slag, where the ancient corroding plasteel struts gave way to pitch blackness , The group eyed movement. A feeling first, dark and unpleasant , like a nothing they felt before. Nausea washed over them and they did all they could not to turn their heads and scream! It came too fast for an Escher, too fast for a human! Baleful eyes peircing at their souls, through murky sub light world.

Socrates “Run or fight ? “

“RUN!”

i bet this is only the merest tip of the iceberg... i didn´t follow the pimp my wizard contest as i was ocupied you could say myself...^^
i think there is no point in telling the artist otherwise if he states himself that his creation is sub par... so i wont do that^^

is the fullf part of the contest or is this finally neil coming back for good and getting his on blog rollin`, i sincerely hope so^^

Wow the sketches are fantastic. Am inrigued by Sammael. A good intepretation of Sammael starred in the computer game 'Darksiders', the art style of that particular game palled after a time but he looked pretty cool. He had cool ott horns and upside down wings.

I also love your entry, the head in particular is a creepy delight.

Thanks for continued the support guys all my boys are at high school now so i have more time to indulge myself although i have just applied for a job at an art gallery fingers crossed , so i dont go stir crazy with no kids to chase after and reprimand

So was feeling some paint love today and i thought i would try and splash some of that acrylic love on one of my mini men, Vanheimer the deathwatch marine was the lucky so an so , been wanting to do something to him after a nasty blue metallic car spray accident. i thought it was all over for him but felt like a challenge.

@Chibi thanks matey , qoute "Which art gallery Neil if you don't mind me asking? Good luck with the application" it was Leeds art gallery but i haven't heard from them so i think i missed that boat never mind being doing some graphics for cold hard cash and it just means more modeling time right

some shots of the marine , i only spent today on him i dont have much patience for long winded painting sessions . Qiute happy with the over all look , of him , he is a bit messy , but i kinda like that about him would be happier if i had more patience for painting glowing eyes though.

a very good looking marine you have there, the billowing cape- look is definatly right up your alley, specially like the skull on the chest, for all those out there that a simple human sull is not grim dark enough^^ very classy paintscheme, one thing i have to ask but: the claw, is there a fluffy explanation for it? would like to here that...

at moonshine: the name lilitu sounds for very much like lilith and thus some other comapnies are bound to use that name but i think neil is one of those peeps that would not want to go for a mere simple mini, cobbling diffrent bitz together to form a whole new mini that creates a complete story around itself is more up his alley...well maybe i am only talking here about my own modelinginterests but i think neil is also more in to the exploration and extrapolation and explanation of bitz and odd ends^^

Either way, more DW, please! That guy is looking suitably amazing, as is the mini-insert of the WIP shot. Any tips for doing that crazy GS cloth? I think that and the red was the strong suite of your PMW entry: the folds, the mess-but-neat of the cloth... and the consistency of it. Seriously- check out my Thousand Sons... the "cloth" I make for them is pretty gak in comparision... Lumpy, and the folds are very simple compared to that work. Same thing I see from the DW marine. GS tips, please!

I prefer the 3-armed one, with the spear & DE whip, but the 2 others are great !

The painted one, also, is far from sub-par... TBH, I think it oozes seduction & feminity... Yeah, even though it's a mini ! (It might be time for me to come home, lol)

Really like the black grey armour you've achieved on the marine. The gold wings on his chest make a really nice contrast and is a beautiful shade.

sorry for the absence i have been working I know its hard to believe i hardly believe it myself, and no its not the art gallery , but it is arty, i have been doing some corporate graphics for some local business's , i actually thought i had forgotten how to work its been so long. But the upside is i made a bit of spending money , which is going straight back to dakka well forgeworld to be exact. I have been really wanting to do some more work on the Cadian Lucky 7's and i came up with a cool idea.. well cool to me
I have been wanting to do some imperial army guys for a long time , but after the nostalgia wore off i was less than impressed with the sculpts from yesteryear, so i decide to see if i could kitbash a retro. modern command HQ section together , and its got me really excited tbh. I am thinking commissar , general , captain , lieutenant sergeant medic standard ogryn and beastman, They will have a slightly corrupted appearance as these poor pups have been chasing papa nurgle too long , but not fully turned yet
i have ordered the ogryn today and will pick up the beast man tomorrow hopefully , i have enough bits to pull off the rest i think.



























anyhow just wanted to share some stuff thats been going on my noggin this past few weeks and months ,
I have been working on and off on the Alien board game after another dakkite contacted me , who was doing the same thing, kinda inspired me again , and during my research i found this cool website that belongs to the stupidly talented Dennis Lowe who has worked on a tremendous amount of films including Alien , he has some great art work and nostaligic film memorabilia and photos on his site , well worth a look. http://www.zen171398.zen.co.uk/Alien.html












Also been working on some ideas with the Eye of Horus freindly dakkite who ran the poetry comp a while back who gave me an idea to use sound in the presentation of miniatures
Thought i would do a test run with the lucky sevens . I had been researching the experimental sound artists of the 60's by coincidence and have done a little sound expirimentation whilst at uni but nothing recently , so back to audacity i went cap in hand not sure how it turned out , but you can tell for yourself if your interested . at the bottom of the page.

also did a little illustration and graphics and writing to introduce the new guys.

so Me and Bailey my eldest son , finally managed to get a game down a few months back , i was going to do a battle report but never got around to it , we used house rules and it was Bailey's great unwashed against the noble 9th , to cut a long story short he just beat me after his goilaths with shotguns got into the range of my tender nobles , Actaeon did manage to take out his bounty hunter leader first though and i wiped the floor with his ratskin scouts with my old guard heavy weapons. but alas the fair Artemis and her hounds were no match for his brutal hive bottom scum. it was a thoroughly fun game and i wish we could do it more often , normally by the time we have set up the will to play has vanished

It's been Two weeks since we defeated the Volscani Cataphracts at The battle of Tyrok Fields ,
We have recovered our colours thankfully but not our numbers.
Commander Kropotkin refuses to let us push back the remainder of the traitorous wretches. We are at the front line and dangerously spread thin , I worry if we don’t move soon we shall loose the impetus we have garnered crossing this deserted and desolate landscape.

We are at our wits end. No supplies have been delivered since my last entry ,six days. six fething days with out rations or fresh medical supplies, The men have started wilt like the decaying flowers that once blanketed these forests, a rash has spread amongst the weaker ones like wildfire , its like nothing I have witnessed before, black and green boils ravage the once proud soldiers. The few stims I have wont last long ,..please Emperor have mercy ..we are rotting here.

ok...this fluff part of decartes sounds like a WWI scenario...trenchers not able to move and stuck in their trenches without suplies and any help... i think an easy prey for father nurgle...well this is exactly the right time someone in high command had better learn the word human rescources...but i think for them it is just deployment material...and there is enough to chucked out into the fray after the other lot...thats generals for you right there...

new minis look expensive.. to say the least... hmmm... first slaanesh and now nurgle... i think the IoM has lost a valuable player/modeler to the filthy gods...such a shame^^

looks like a nice game... well one of these days maybe my sons will be able to battle with me too...^^ i envy you^^

hmmm... working what was that again...? well i had a bite of that too recently and ruined my left shoulder to a point that i am still feeling aches there, whenever i use it in a certain way...but then again i worked with my body and not my brain... should have done other work...so congrats to you for doing better´n me^^ hope this will lead to further employments...ross fingers for you!

Hey vik cheers mate, sorry for the nightmares , i was inspired by pachendale for this story , i think it fits with the nurgle theme, so spot on mate, glad that came through without being obviously trench warfare.

The minis where pricy but we all deserve a treat every now and then don't we Dont worry the emperors gaze has not fallen to far away this disciple. back with the all new inquisitor vendrake war band anytime soon.

as for the game , that was the first in a long long time mate , but it was fun. no doubt your boys will be wiping the floor with you too in the near future

yep the battle of paschendale.... i had someting like that exactly in mind....there was once this horror movie about a smallish warband that got stuck in foreign trnches and got decimated one by one... all save one survived the evil spirit that lurked there and tested them all... forgot the name...was a classy as hell skinrippler of a movie...my mind is sometimes like a sieve.... must be all that plastic glue^^

i really liked your idea of going to do sound matching minis and fluff.... this is a step greatly overdue if you ask me and sice you done the first step i hope you will be getting that on with!!! i like that holistic touch!^^
