Well all moved in and ready to go! I owe whalemusic a debt of gratitude for his patience and understanding. He is supplying the icing on the cake for the capital building. As soon as he gets his money for the forgeworld order, I get my aquilas! Thanks again Paul you are the man!
Stay tuned for updates and sorry for the delay. The wait will be worth it!
Sincerely,
Mike

Any ideas would be awesome! How do you make a flat roof more gothic?
Thanks whalemusic

Oh, now you want solutions too!?!
Well the normal answer would be skulls, candles and the like, otherwise, not real sure tbh. I'd say put some of the really small brass Aquilas around the lip, but that would be pricy. Maybe some of the ones from drop pods and other SM vehicles? I could hook ya up with some if you need em.

Actually, I think he has something there. Candlesticks, the tall kind, and such. Like the sort you see in Cathedrals, each about 6-7 feet high and covered with 2 dozen candles. I have absolutely no idea where you'd get them, though.
Could maybe go all "Grimdark!" and just have a few pillars of human skulls with burning wicks or pyres on top.

I would be tempted to put the gun straight onto the roof, leaving off the base as it looks too unbalanced as it is.
I might also be tempted to add some metal/stone "detailing" to the roof around the gun...
Kind of like this (though probably simpler ) with the gun in the centre to make it look like the gun is supposed to be there?
Alternatively, power cables, ammo feeds, metal strut legs bolted into the roof etc to show it is a more recent addition hurriedly added to the building at the onset of war.

I agree with SilverMK2. The gun needs seems simply stuck on at the moment, and doesn't add anything to the piece. I'd remove it from the square base, maybe sandbag the area around it, and add lasgun/binoculars etc.
I think you need to either slope the roof or add a definite banister to the edge as well- it seems to industrial for a church atm, and fights with the sloped roof on the tower.

Having to echo the gun sentiments. It just...doesn't fit. WIP at the moment but I'm hoping you embelish it with rubble, sandbags or something to perhaps show it being thrown on?

Subscribed! Will read up to this page at my leisure later (and I finally caught up!).
Pegasus Scenery yes? Good Stuffs! Might drop a pic of my own Cathedral later. Only thing im not sure about is how to add in diffirent level and platforms to use for troops. My Cathedral is literally big enough to park a Land Raider inside....all though there are no places it can actually enter through.
What amused me was that you mentioned you do not have the skills to add magnets to your tanks to make the weapons replaceable. Not enough skill when you are doing all this? You jest sir!
And in accordance with the rest of the people here, I odder my condolences and best wishes to you and your Boss.

Ha ha what bad timing on my part. I missed the previous pics and just as I come on to comment you upload some more -with all problems solved.
I was going to suggest chimneys to make the flat roof more interesting. Seems like you did that plus an actual gun emplacement.
Looks good dude but I now think its needs a balustrade. Wouldn't want any PDF troopers falling off to their doom in high winds.

Thanks Peter I was fooling around with a banister/edging but alas it did not look good. The Fluff is that the gun was brought up by the defenders after the attack so in theory you were never supposed to go up there , save one for maintenance . I am adding some narrative via sandbags, tools and weapons I am loving my new setup and am inspired to finish this one by the end of the month
Here is a shoot of the WIP CAPITOL BUILDING

Loving the new emplacement look. Where did you get the gun from? One question I do have regarding the Pegasis models is how did you take care of the square pegs on top of the columns? You know the ones right? Where you slot in the wall above when you are building.

The roof detailing looks much better now. My only concern is that the roof appears to be overhanging unevenly on different sides, which is a bit jarring in the views seen so far.
Also, if that is a hatch in the back corner (I can't see too clearly), it is opening out into thin air and half way into a wall

Thanks for bringing out my modeling short comings, j/k ! The roof is floating in place right now and the over hang is a bit more on the side versus the back and front. I love the spacing personally and when I magnetize it I am sure you will agree. The reason for the over hang is a few light fixtures will be going underneath it! I am going to try source lighting on this build. And as far as the hatch goes... dope!
Thanks as always boys, and keep the comments coming,
Mike

Lighting and possibly a few bracing struts would make it look a lot better
As I say, it is just a bit off at the moment, perhaps not as quite as big an "off put" as my post may have made it seem though

Not much to show but I added some details to the over hang. I also added a statue to cover a gap that was driving me crazy.
Love it , hate it please send some feedback

Sorry I missed your question buddy. I own a razor saw http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat470006a&prodId=prod1095446. I use this saw for all my cutting and conversion work.
