I have space marines but won't be getting a chibihawk. I will get one or two of the Necron flies as well as a couple of the orks just for giggles.

I was planning an intricate and exspensive master of the ravenwing in landspeeder conversion.... I guess I'll just use this now =)

TBH I think the 6th ed meta will rely on these models and similar ones, so hello skimmer spam, oh how I've not missed you

I think, come 6th, these fliers will become hard to hit, thus the AV11 Stormtalon.

Do I put too much faith in that leaked rulebook, yes I probably do, but I think we'll see more hit modifiers

Well, he's right. Many people WON'T care. Some will, but that's fine: "many" implicitly implies "not all". Note that Mr Hawk did not state that the only people who care that the Stormguppy is essentially a lacklustre Land Speeder will be tournament players/heavy converters. It is however, reasonable to surmise that such people will make up a large proportion of those who are not a fan of the 'guppy.

I still think it's cute, however, and am very much in the camp of "will use it regardless of how useful it is to me", much as I do my Stormpelican at the moment.

Even if the Ork aircraft isn't that great now, when real rules for flying units come out it will come into its own.

I beg to differ on the whole ork flyer being bad.
The fighter is fast, it has a crappton of S6 twin linked shooting, and it isn't too expensive if you just buy guns, if flyers get the -12" shooting thing they do in apoc, its perfectly usable, decent even.

I have a model plane sitting in my workshop that I was planning to orkify at some point, if these kits have enough extra bits like you suggest then this project will actually happen...

Even as fast skimmers, they can easily stay within the KFF, where the Vendetta is going to get hit at full force. Besides that, they aren't more survivable as koptaz, but are definitely going to do more damage than that one rokkit and three S7 attacks are goint to.

Assuming the rules are real, the blitza bomber is a great asset as anti-tank, even if you roll below 5, you still get a guaranteed lascannon hit out of it. And imagine it crashing into a parking lot or a bunch of marines with snake eyes... awesome!
There is no way I'm not going to get three of those.

I think the Stormtalon actually looks pretty cool. I feel like I have seen the design before and I think it will do well. I also agree that 6th ed. will make all the flyers a lot more viable than they appear to be lately. I am looking forward to what flyers will be coming out for Chaos.

I don't think it's bad per se, I just don't think it's a competitive must-have. The random bomb table sounds like fun and it has some pretty neat rules. Other posters in this thread have said far harsher things about it than I could have!

Looking at the various storm-talon pics, sorting out the nose guns (as has already been described) and putting a slightly longer tail on it... maybe chop off the downward tail fin... and you'd end up with a pretty reasonable flyer.

I am almost tempted, even though it is a bit on the chibi side at the moment.

The vendetta isn't supersonic and doesn't have aerial assault. Those were the rules previously rumored to denote flyer status.

If the get the -12", then the StormTalon must not be a flyer since it has the ability to negate melta bonuses (which would be redudant)

I'll be putting my wings on as swept instead on the "canon" way

If -12" to range is the rule for anything shooting at a flyer, Nightshields will be a nightmarish upgrade for the Razorwing... Very survivable, but still questionable on the damage output for DE. All interesting. Will the Stormtalon fit my GI Joes?

English WD scans of the rules were uploaded to /tg/ today. Not sure where they came from. Didn't see them posted already -- apologies if it's a repeat.
