Well, the bommerz are every bit as terrible as I feared. With those stats, they should have unlimited primary bombs and be able to drop them when going 36".

The Dakkajet is borderline, worth getting for the cool model, I guess.

Well, my SM Fast Attack slot might actually see some use. I mean... a 60" Heavy 3 autocannon? Um, yes? Who cares if it gets blasted turn 1? Anyone who's played DE is used to their vehicles getting blown to smithereens quickly.

Well, that puts me out of the running for buying any of these.
With no reliable anti-tank, I'm going to have to forego the $150 bucks and hours and hours of modeling and painting required for MORE anti-infantry, and transport popping that I ALREADY HAVE TONS OF.

I really like the rules for the Orky aircraft. Their role is somewhat redundant, but they could do some decent transport popping with S6 twin linked supa shootas and strafing runs.

That would definitely make the whole escort thing a whole heck of a lot less attractive/useful...

The Stormtalon looks like something to convert into a vendetta for moi, as my Spess Mahrens are drop pod or footslog/mechanised exclusive by my own fluff law. However, it looks cool, so my steampunk guard could always get a look in....

I might also get a bomma, just for the lulz and modelling, even though i don't really have the money / space / time for it.

The necron ship doesn't particularly tickle me happy, but hey, i'm not a necron player.

I agree.

My Lootas have the reach out and touch you guns... but they lose 3 Orks and run off the table. These give me the ability to make my opponent worry about side armor.

Can't wait.

I think 9 BS3 TL shots a turn at St6 is pretty solid for 125. It's 20pts more than my buggy squadron but isn't open topped, has more range, the ability to shoot 18 shots 1 turn per game, pins units, and generally get 3xas many shots at a higher BS.

Against Rhinos for instance the 3 buggies get a 13% chance to pop a rhino in cover.

The flyer has an 18% chance. So they are equal damage dealers overall. Buggies are more resilient (though harder to get Mek saves on if the rule is played correctly) due to numbers but the other abilities of the fighter could negate that. Overall I think it's a solid addition. Wish it wasn't FA though cause I like my converted buggies

For the love of Gork, please let that Waargh plane rule be a sign of things to come for Orks. I can think of a few units in the codex that could be really fun with double shooting!

It would be interesting if each unit had a different Waaagh bonus depending on its battlefield role.

Agreed, I always thought they should get a boost based on their role in the amry rather then, they all have fleet.

Agreed.

Lootas and Flashgits play a much different role than a horde of choppa boys! Flashgits with a +1 BS during the Waaagh would be amazing!

Right now choppas are inferior to taking shootas in all ways.

I think a way to represent the frenzy the waaagh whips orks into would be to keep the fleet move as current and allow any choppa used by an ork that assaults during the waaagh turn to gain rending for any resulting combat that turn.

If GW closed I wonder who would get the rights to make 40k stuff. Maybe they would make it cheaper?

Rules Query alert...

Does a Weirdboy WAAAGH also trigger the double shooting? Because 18 twin linked str 6 shots is really nothing to sneeze at. It makes a DE venom look like a rhino at that point.

Well that settles it looks like it will be the burna bommer and the dakkajet.

Just the number of shots that the dakkajet gets in a waaaaaaagh while moving 12" at BS 3 is obscene.

And the unpredictable nature of the blitza compared with the more reliable burna makes the burna preferable for me. The burna is a little points heavy but is more reliable than either of the other too so I think it just edges it over the dakkajet from a competitive standpoint for me.

All of these are throw away vehicles being only AV10 means you will have to make your points back quick something the blitza will struggle at. Think ork players need to look else where for killing vehicles reliably in the ork codex.

I couldn't imagine why not, the weirdboy waaaagh is the same as calling a waaaagh in every instance so far mentions so i'd go with yes here too.

I'm very disappointed in the AV 10 however. It REALLY needs AV 12 like the other flyers.

Blitzabomba desperately needs more orky engineering though.

Instead of these:

the meks need to put one of these on it:

where am I? *looks around* Well i'm...errr...I...I...don't know!

In fairness some of the fluff/logic behind Stormtalons not being able to escort deepstrike units is sound.
Drop Pods: Fired from low orbit so a gunship would not be able to keep up.
Terminator Squads: Teleportation isn't exact (think the lysander story of termies getting trapped in rock, etc) so by having to co-ordinate a gunship in with them could cause some problems.
Assault/Vanguard squads: Well...maybe the pilots for these just aren't very good at following some falling men...
Landspeeders: I don't have any answer

Does the fighta ace rule stack with the Straffing Run rule? If so, BS 4 against bikes and stuff would be kinda nice.

Just reread the rule. Nevermind.

Ooooooooooooh, 3 dakkajets and a weirdboy just became a fun way to piss away 500 points.

I wonder if a 100% shooty ork army is reasonably viable now. 45 lootas, 3 dakkajets, 9 kannons, A weirdboy in a massive shoota unit and then a few rokkit trukks with rokkit trukk boyz.

There's really only one part that you can't see/infer...

My guess is it will be 6" or 12". But that's just a uneducated guess.

The picture, though missing the right most word from each sentence, showed enough to explain the rule. Essentially, the Storm Talon can attach to something so that it comes in from reserve for free when the other unit comes in from reserve. The Storm Talon can't attach to something arriving from Deep Strike. The attached unit cannot be another Storm Talon and only one Storm Talon can attach per unit.

It is just a way to coordinate the arrival of the Storm Talon with another unit; it does not serve as ablative wounds for the unit like Beats of War postulated. It would have been an interesting mechanic but, combined with anti-melta rules, would make it too strong to slap it on a Land Raider and drive across the table with all of that Dakka.

Edit/ Here is an interesting thought though. I play Shrike Marines and, though infiltrating them sometimes is better, I often Outflank him and an assault squad to keep my opponent guessing. Unless stated elsewhere, the only limitation on the Storm Talon's arrival from reserve is that it cannot arrive with a unit via deep strike and that it must enter the table within X inches of the parent unit. Say I attach it to my outflanking Shrike and Assault Marines? That is a lot of of dakka in the backfield with no way to defend against it. Methinks a basic Storm Talon entering the table that way is pretty attractive.
