An easy fix to the stormtalon, cut the AC cannons of that box, get the box off the model and put the AC's directly on the nose of the flyer..., here done, it looks less horrible.

I am having a large game of 40k on the 8th going to pick up 3 ork fliers and run them as fighta bombas from the imperial armour book. Just hope they hurry up and do aon ork bomba kit

Fliers in standard 40K aren't really my cup of tea and I'm not really bowled over by anything here. Stormtalon is probably the weakest model design wise for some time IMHO.

You know, every time I see one of these new flying vehicles for the Space Marines, I keep thinking they would be really great for an army other than Space Marines. They give me this impression of un-refined tech, which is unfortunately the opposite of what SM are supposed to be.

If I had the stupid amounts of money it costs to waste on GW figs these days and enough time to goof around with them, I'd want to make a junker army- an army full of SM flyers but crewed by scavengers and rogues. The Chibihawk looks like a perfect salvage pick-up vehicle, and these new guys look like escorts. I picture them with a smiling Vault-Boy on the nose and crewed by guys in the sort of merc outfits one finds in Fallout.

As Space Marine vehicles go though, they're pretty bad.

The Tempest is much, MUCH smaller judging from the pictures of the Stormtalon. The Tempest is effectively a Landspeeder wile the Stormtalon looks to be larger than a Rhino.

If the Storm Talon is near the size of the Storm Raven(which it appears to be), the Tempest will be less than half the size(I own both).

The Tempest is only a little larger than the standard Land Speeders.

It's the biggest problem with 40k and people whine constantly that every codex isn't already identical. I'd be happy if they just gave the people what they wanted.

I did the math, it comes out to finecast hydra for 95 USD

Hmm....... add seven.......carry the four...... subtract x and the answer is: I shouldn't hold my breath.

The model is pre order on the 26th and on sale the following week so less than 11 days away... I would assume the WD is right on the heels.

I really like the idea of new units joined with WD. Keeps the game new.

Agreed, so its less like they did it for the sole purpose of pushing new items to be bought -_-

I think all of the fliers look awesome. I love the stormtalon especially.

New units intro'd by WD is old school. 2nd edition throw back.
