I have it and it is indeed great - much of the oil painting article on Dakka I got inspiration for from the FW masterclass book

Yeah, I painted the Orkmower from Vol. 1 book more or less, it was a blending of the different techniques throughout the book.

Sorry to disappoint you buddy. All work and No play... I'm starting to become dull.

Fear not I am motivated and as soon as I find time back at the painting table.

I'll stop by and say hi to BTW. I am really impressed!

Don't get to excited but I broke my airbrush for the first time in almost a year!

I had some fun and with the Masterclass book by my side I am excited to paint the water pump sewer terrain.

Everything will be slow unfortunately :(

I am thinking of green for this one though.

Any thoughts on colors?

The sewage treatment plants I've seen locally are more black than anything else. There is one that has a bright orange pool for breakdown before it goes through the last filer / processor, but haven't seen anything green. Though I guess if it Ork poop then green would be appropriate.

You should have a turtle in the sludge. Perhaps somewhat mutated. And definitely ninja like. I want to say it should be an adult, but I think a teenager would be more relatable for some reason. Oh, and pizza. And nunchucks. And skateboards. Yeah.

I am thinking about letting my new local FLGS borrow/ buy my entire terrain collection.
It has been a labor of love but I really don't have time any more for painting and modeling .
What are your thoughts?
I have mixed emotions about it but it will be nice to see someone actually using my terrain.

Any input would be awesome!

I donated my entire terrain collection to my local game store, before I left California. It'll get banged up, abused, and destroyed. BUT.

You'll be upping the quality level of the store's terrain, and that tends to lead to the bar being raised.

YMMV.

That has been weighing heavily on me. Most people are respectful but I'd be pretty pissed if someone broke on of my pieces.

I'd definately sleep on it a while before doing it. Rather than giving it away, you might be able to raffle it off for charity, or offer it as prize support?

I will not be giving it away. It would be on loan or be purchased from me.

if you are going to get rid of it, I would say sell it, maybe offer it as a complete set on ebay for an enormous price. It's such great stuff it would go to waste with grubby 14 year olds getting their sticky fingers all over it (no offence grubby 14 year olds reading this).

If you sell it you can think of it as an investment, you enjoyed making it and made money from it that you could put towards making more scenery in the future if you ever changed your mind. If you give it away you just get useless karma, unless you go to your FLGS a lot, that is.

I have thought about selling it out right but have no idea how to price it.

As far as letting the FLGS use it I am very concerned about punk kids and adults using it with little to no respect. It is more that it is collecting dust and it makes me sad to see it not being used when I know hundreds of people who would love to game on it.

It's a double edge sword! How much would my terrain be worth? Any help setting a price would be great!

OH-I Wanna get out of here

If you end up selling any of it, let me know, I'd love to add some to my collection.

Terrain seems to sell pretty close to retail normally. Which is useful for stock pieces, but harder for others that are more bashed.

I know most places I've played that are stores, the terrain gets used hard. It isn't your own or a buddies, so who cares seems to be the sop.

Are you looking to get rid of your armies as well? Or just not add to them? Never know what the future holds, your girl may turn out to be a nerd that would love our needing ways.

I will only sell my terrain to someone who will take good care of it. I will keep my army so I can play.

I really want to play more and with the FLGS opening literally 2 minutes from my house I will have a better chance of doing so. The terrain is a thought for them because not only would it be nice to play on my terrain, it would be cool to let others enjoy it as well.

The idea of selling it would soften the blow should it be abused... if that makes any sense.

Would $1000.00 be an attractive price? Hypothetically speaking of course Paul

That would be nice if you could get them to buy, it would give you some extra coin, and still be used by you when you wanted. I'd add the caveat that if they needed to sell (out of business) you get first crack. Remember they will likely try to offer you store credit, so you may loose out if you prefer cash. It may be more feasible to sell in chunks.

If I could afford any where near what it's worth I'd make an offer. I'd at most be able to pick up a few pieces, or the rob maybe.

Thanks for the input, but I wasn't asking you to buy if for a $1000.00 I was more asking what you think I should ask for it.

If I do sell it piece by piece you will get first crack.

I've donated about half my stuff to stores or random players. I wouldn't be so keen on loaning it out when I don't know who is going to be playing on it. Some people are just animals when it comes to how they treat stuff that isn't theirs.
