I'll have to give this a reread soon, I'm sensing that my 'Nids need some work and it'll soon be time to add Cultist hints here and there. Where better to get inspiration!

Just been catching up with your progress Tom. I'm proud to have been part of the project, if only in a small way. Certainly pushed my skills in sculpting.

The Magus is outstanding. The little bit of work you did really finished him off.

I still would like to make my own sculpts of hybrids one day. I painted an army of the original models and they have such character to them.

Almost 3 years after the last post here, and 2 after last time I picked up a brush... whoa. I won't be one of the only Stealer Cult boys on the scene anymore... but... it's gonna be a big a** brood lol.

Your custom Genestealer Cult models are some of my favorites, so it will be fun to see what you have in store for these ones.

The new ones are so in-line with my designs (which were of course heavily influenced by the originals anyways) that they would fit in seamlessly with the ones I already have... so couldn't resist. Always was a sucker for the 2 sides of Space Hulk...

Thanks boys... built all the marines last night... wow these minis are incredible... every single one is clampack quality. Best box GW ever put out as far as I'm concerned.

Next up are the stealers... trying to figure out the best way to go about prepping them, I think for at least part of the painting partial assembly will be the way to go, and also conveyor belting heads etc. Gonna have to dig out my old notes about the generational paint tones I used.

Only thing I will say, is I think my concept for 1st gens was better than what they ended up with, I prefer sticking to the 'still completely beast like, no concept of technology' rather than the 'no real difference to a 2nd gen, instantly wearing clothes, using tech and shooting guns' approach they took. I like the steps to be a bit more incremental, and though I like that the gens are relatively distinct on the heads, a bit more on theme would have been cool. No matter. Still sick models though!

Nice to see you getting back at it, even if it took the box no one thought would ever exist to do it. Are you planning on doing any conversions with the 2nd set of marines? Some good quality bits in there and you could represent some other chapters.

@WM, I dunno man I am probably going to sell off or trade the marines in the second set, maybe even one sprue of stealers. The original models are tough to top, and I have so much FW marine stuff lying around I already converted for my BA that should get some attention before that if I get back to marines.

If I put in conversion work it will be on the Stealers, I want to modify all aberrants to be completely unique in terms of the heads and bodies, and I feel like the Patriarch needs to be doing something other than the standard broodlord on an outcrop. I will paint up one of them in the usual pose but I wanted a second one to see if I could hack it into something more... upright.

Magus bits and other pieces also begging for conversions imho too .

Probably going to be a bit of a long stretch going into the painting as there is quite a bit of prep to get to! Going to need to do all the bases once I get my order in from secret weapon before starting the models in earnest, though I may paint a few bits and bobs before that.

I know what you mean about the patriarch's pose. I've been eyeing up my spare, trying to work out the best way to change him too. I suspect that is for another time.

I'll be interested to see how you approach the Aberrant reposes too

Aberrants for the duplicates, likely to get new heads or at least re sculpting, also likely to get back armor and ribbing along the lines of my 1st or 2nd gens... legs probably going to get more robes to change the silhouette. Arms... not sure need to take a closed look if reposing is realistic, may give them entirely new weapons if I can manage.

The 2nd magus will probably get turned into something similar to one of the alt old-school magus models, maybe the dude with the sword in one of the more obscure artworks-

More ribbing and plates would certainly work nicely. For the arms, if you're willing to sacrifice some purestrain amy, I think that would work fairly easily. the musclebound arm you could probably nab from one of the Bloodbound kits. Heck, those torsos would probably make great alternative aberrants too with a bit of greenstuff

Good points end, though rumblings are starting to swirl about a Cult Codex/supplement, so I am also thinking I should probably hold onto that 2nd box to see what other kinds of things I may be able to arm them with too.
