@wyfox: Brucifer

@Cam: Thanks! Some of the figures have pretty old paint jobs. I'm sure I could do better now, I just don't have the heart to re-do them.

@cormandapanda: Thank you sir! Kind of the same old stuff, but with more BIKES.

@Brian: Don't you know it my friend! Grots are what's happnin' in da ork world!

@Moltar: Thank you and your rhyming self.

My vanity made me switch out one of the figures and take a nicer photograph. *sigh*

Actually, my opponent wanted as big a game as possible and decided to borrow my Space Wolves. So at 2k this army is ridiculous. I'll try to take pics.

All I'm trying to say, Gits, is that "Mad Doc GROTsnik" can, for five points per model, give cybork bodies to any unit*.

Any.

Unit.

Think about that for a moment. I'll wait.

Excellent company to hang around with to be sure. And while I detest GW's business model... their artists and authors have provided a LOT of inspiration and entertainment over the years.

Well, Brian's gone and made me paint up Grotsnick. Pretty sure I've got the metal version buried somewhere.

...

Dam*it Brian, that wasn't on my painting schedule...

There are some fantastic women hobbyists here on dakka who I like very much, they're just far outnumbered by the guys. To my knowledge... weety was the last to drop by... that was 5 months ago.

8 point grots with 5+ invulnerable saves, as your base troops.

You can get a ton of them. Had a guy at my LGC run one of those armies once.

Also- What about KillaKanz with Cybork Bodies? Fighta-Bommas?

GENERATION 8: The first time you see this, copy and paste it into your sig and add 1 to the number after generation. Consider it a social experiment.

I don't think you can give cybork bodies to vehicles...

I was also thinking about cybork meganobz, making them 45 point, 2-wound terminators. With a megaarmored boss, that would be SCORING, 45 point, 2-wound terminators. I wouldn't even have to make new figures. My old meganobz are all cybered up as it is.

Not where I should be

If you are ever after body parts, I recently bought one of these and figure I can get 3 to 4 cyborg body parts from the one kit.

Just for scale here's an example of the parts in use. He's got the legs.

Sorry for using my pic, but thought it was a good idea to show you scale.

Just a thought.

Nice idea Cam! Unfortunately that required building and painting up a bunch of new orks! But it's a very economical approach, which I appreciate.

I toyed with adding the cybork option to a bunch of different units last night to see which ones felt like good investments. Meganobs, foot-slogging nobs and big guns came out on top, with a nod to grots and aard boyz as the best of the rest. Lootas are close too... as they're pretty vulnerable with no nob option and a high priority target for most opponents.

Those little 5 point investments can add up quickly, but might be worth it in smaller, more elite units.

Now I'm not biased at all, but personally I think there should be more completely cyberised ork forces out there

Especially forces that will actually participate in games

Yeah, though the quality of the painting is all over the place. Lots of half-finished units.

Getting ready for a tournament this weekend and needed a nob biker w/ big choppa. Simple little conversion later and I'm all set!

I just love the look of the big choppas. Will have to make one or two more of these for da nobz... OH, I forgot to put some blood spatters on... will take care of that in a bit.
