Thanks Ramos. I usually shade my ork skin down a bit with a thinned wash of Bel Tan Green, but I was so happy with the shading & blending (which really doesn't show up on the photo) that I decided not to do it this time.

He does kind of remind you of that actor doesn't he? I remember those commercials... very powerful.

Easy Rider is what popped into my mind as well. He looks awesome, Gits! Great use of an older mini. So many ork themes back in the day.

Funny, I wanted to give him ape hangers... maybe I'll do that for the next one.

Love your take on the runtherder model, I stuck a bosspole on him and use him as the boss nob of my greenskinz.

@Minus: Thank you sir! I didn't really notice the beard until I started painting the face... what a nice surprise that was! I think it adds loads of character.

@Mu: Glad you like it Mu, it's a great model. Kind of surprised I don't see it around more often.

I just wanted to make a comment since things have been slow.

I picked up all the bikes I needed to complete my two regular "gretchin" warbike squads. I have enough bikes for 6 "grots" in each mob plus a second 2nd edition plastic bike for the nob. I've also found a figure that will work well for the nob/runt herder.

I'm really excited about this... getting these units up and running has been a dream of mine for a long time now. It's finally within reach, all I have to do is find the time to get them built and painted!


Speaking of bikes... Anyone have any good ideas on how to convert a Mad Dokk/Pain Boy for a unit of Nob bikes??

Many, including the gorka morka half traks I tried to throw your way a while back. Yes I finally worked them out, Bike front, track bed backs. (you are welcome to one if you want it.)

I just gave my painboy wheels instead of legs, so he can be biker or non biker, as I choose xD

@Squidbot: Thank you! The bikes have been a long time in coming but at least now I think I have all the models I'll need.

In the midst of noodling around with a half-dozen other projects... I was putting together the pieces and bits necessary to make my other "runt herd" bike. In the process I happened upon some neat ork glyph plates. I fiddled with one a bit and turned it into shoulder armor for the existing runt herd biker. Not a big update by any means, but it's something at least!

That's a whole lot of fun! nice job.

Managed to wrangle a beer-and-pretzels game for tomorrow night. My opponent wants to do 1k... probably some marine variant.

I put together an ork army, primarily based on my favorite models and what it'll look like on the table. I call the army... "d'Orks!" (after the orkish cries from the old DoW games).
