Love the idea, now you just need to do the rest of the fairie tales in steampunk fashion for other board sections. You can even have a yellow brick road intersect this road further down the line

thanks you my friends for all that high praise...even if it was again not enough to have to judges smile on my behalf...well... one comp down...(make that two...as the nerdy one I also didn´t win...:( )

but well... one thing ends and another thing starts...namely the 12th leagues terrain competition... this time hold by a true crazy and creative mind: Monkeytroll...and his theme for this round is walls... the title says: "wall me up/ fence me in..."... well... for now I have decided to choose for the former... and I have begun to build some walls...







carved foam, round corners have a cardboard centre, the roof of the wall sections will have a metal sheeting that will be covered in verdigris...
on the pics you can see, the whole structure is already wide and spacy enough to hold a rhino inside...as the title of the comp reads "walled me up/ fence me in..." I think the centre needs a fitting eye catcher...we´ll see about that...

hope you´ll like...(I am also thinking of making a second more modern looking wall/fence terrain set as I think you can never have too much of these kind of terrain pieces in your collection...

Maybe you could make more sections for this wall system that can be swapped out, do some damaged sections maybe! Could be swapped out in game for when they are blown up in game?

I have thought about such an idea... it would allow to make for a bigger wall altogether and also to have such variety too... hmmm....

Thats really impressive Vik if you ever do any more corners can you do a step by step as that is really amazing work the detail of brick is nice with a dash of paint it will really pop out

Seeing that tank inside makes me think that you could do with a larger entrance option. But then some broken wall sections would work just as well.

Having found a clear spot with excellent fields of view Tech-Sergeant Godberry set the machine spirits to overwatch and joined his brethren for a few hours down-time in the back of their trusty rhino. The doorway is crying for two beefeaters flanking it. Behind the walls have been torn down particularly by artillery, some astartes have driven their apc throug the gape and are now taking cover behind the bricks before they storm on, shells convert more bricks into shrapnell, but those two sturdy sentries have order to guard the entrance to her majesty's appleyard, and by jove, they are taking their order seriously!

Great brick-work start, waiting to see where go go from here.

Vik mentioned elsewhere that he is getting hammered in RL. But a winter break/recess ought to be coming soon. German schools permit such things? I have no idea.
