Kroot came out well Knightley. When you said something big this way comes was thinking a Knarloc not a Knight! Excited to see it done. It is such a pretty model.

@Graven - Very grave Graven

@Wolvey - oh yes, it fits my GK army so well as well, big sword, big gun, whats not to like!

Update: So lots of work done, this is the skeleton, arms are magnetised, torso is also magnetised still wondering if I should do the shoulder pads, time will tell

The pose makes it look like it is squatting, pooping out banners. Sorry.

@Briancj - Taking a dump on the Emperors enemies!

@Theophony - I should have modeled the banner stuck to the back of his foot

@Mad - Oh yes, this guy will be getting a solid treatment of squiggles upon his holy armour!

@Solar - Planting his feet ready to fire perhaps? I hadn't though to much on the pose but it kind of works I guess

Update: And with plates attached

he is a big boy, it'l be my biggest model to date!

With the exception of the "I'm pooping" stance... I just love that titan.

Hmmm.... lotsa gaunts and gargoyles will need to be thrown at this model until it falls over

Glad to see you got the Kroot finished. Looks like you got over the jinx.

Knight is looking good so far, excited to see the direction you go with the paint.

Looking good.

My only suggestion to the pose would be to rotate the sword, Forward or back should help the ' squatting ' issue.

The problem with the model is that the weight is much too far backward. If you actually mimicked that, you'd fall over backwards. Either the legs need to be straighter or the body itself needs to be leaning forward to adjust the center of balance for the figure.

Poor sculpt design.

@Gits - I do like the look of the Titan as well, it perfectly fits my GK army with the sword and face, I agree the pose is lacking, and as it was my first attempt at a knight I wasn't overly surprised it happened, It sits on flat ground without its base just fine so I did manage to get it a little balanced

@Mad - Haha yep, or two Nemesis DreadKnights I'm sure they'll be able to take it on.

@EDC - Still 35 left to do, the curse is upon me, I don't want to do any more of them now!

@Solar - Good point, I the should has magnets so I can position it forward or backwards should the need take me, thanks for the suggestion!

Update: so taking all your feed back in, this happened. Please note I will only be painting one this time, the other will be done later this year. I have some GK bits and brass etch to add, but one is almost ready for priming!

Personally, I like the guy on the right a lot more. The stance looks more realistic and active like he is firing and dodging incoming fire. The guy on the left looks more like he is on guard duty.

I like the guy on the left more. Looks like he's taking a stroll ready for anything. They look ace Knightley.

@Solar - Thank you, I am a very proud father

@Gits - Indeed, two of these working in concert will be amazing to see!

@Ice - Cheers, good to see someone like his pose

@Wolvey - Thanks, Its the sword pose right?

@Mad - Oh yes, murdering twins abound

@EDC - Thanks buddy, wouldn't it be a laugh if I had a third?

Update: started by airbrushing darker silver from below and lighter silver from the top

Oh yes, 10mm x 2mm on each arm and socket and 10mm x 4mm for the waist areas, 6mm x 5mm on each end for the ammo tube

Update: While waiting for the wash to dry on the silver areas I figured I'd get the base out of the way

I don't like to critique your work Knightley but I really don't like the dual tone parts on the base.

Yes it was the sword pose that did it for me

@Wolvey - Fear not, give me patience and all will be revealed, I wouldn't leave a base looking like that

@Cam - They are quite strong, I can lift the body and the legs stay well attached, in some cases I have to hold the legs and tilt the body just to break the contact, the arms are strong and I can position the sword arm in any direction and it will stay there.

Update: More on the base done, Finished the Necron bit (matching my paint scheme and got all the base colours on the wall bit

Nice base, suitable amounts of battlefield debris strewn across it.

I'm not sure that isn't a bit too much debris on the base. Could distract the eye from the model a bit. It's well painted so far though. Of course, if you do a really snazzy paintjob on the Knight, people won't want to look at the base, they'll be too busy gawking at the Knight!

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/7/24, including modeled wargear options):

@Zerg - This is a good point, I hadn't thought about it that way. Hopefully the Knight will be interesting enough that you wont want to look at the base, here's hoping!

@Gits - Cheers man, I've always had a soft spot for the way you do your bases, the techmarine on the DocOct tentacles has an amazing base

Update: Pretty much done, bar the grass and the odd bit of chipping
