Thanks Git's. yeah some of the first models I painted/converted are looking outdated compared to the things I'm doing at the moment, I tend to steer away from using them so thought I may as well do them again to a standard I'm happy with.

I love that Rotbeast thingy. The way you have done all the grossness is very cool.

Cheers Skalk glad you like the teeth.

------------------------

Last weekend I ended up selling my Thousand Son's Raptors on ebay bit of a shame as they are one of the highest rated images of all my minis, well they went for quit a bit which was a bonus and I didn't use them much as the weapon layout was a bit wonky as it was done before I purchased the CSM codex (5th Edition).

So I ordered another box of Sang Guard and decided to do them again This time with a better load out. I'm going to increase the squad to 7 members this time, this is the first five I need to get another box do do the other two the left overs will be for a second squad. I also picked up the new Raptors box for parts and its quite impressive although I have noticed that the parts are slightly larger than other marine parts but they still mix and match ok.

The Raptor bodies will be for my Night Lord project based on the Blood Angel codex

They will have wings I might paint them afterwards though as it was a pain last time painting up from black to white. I was going to do these guys gold again but I had a thought just now of doing them in bone like my last Necrodefiler, thoughts please

I've also started to look into doing some scenery so I can play against myself at home I picked up some parts from Russia that NF09 recommended I'm going to be doing my scenery in my mini project blog you can see my humble WIP shots here http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/30/367392.page#5082106 along with the minis I've painted over the last few weeks.

I also picked up the Vendetta kit, just waiting for some parts from America to continue the build on the Heldetta. I'm not expecting them this side of Xmas.

Those are going to look awesome either way you paint them, but bone gets my vote too.

Another vote for bone, and those are solid conversions.

Not an update as such more of a focus issue as I'm trying to spread myself too thin so need to list what I'm working on in various threads to bring myself back to reality and actually get something finished

This is my most popular thread so it gets all my random thoughts

Currently working on

WFB Empire Engineer - Not sure myself really either but it will be finished this weekend baring pigments as I don't have the right one.

Thousand Sons Raptor squad - first five guys undercoated today ready for the painting table.

Death Guard Heldetta - On hold awaiting bits.

World Eaters Vindicator - On hold awaiting bits.

The big list of things I want to do for next year

Thousand Sons
Two more members for my Raptor Squad
Second Raptor Squad
Chosen Squad
Tzeentch Lord

Death Guard
Possessed Squad
Chosen Squad
Guard allies including Hades Breaching Drill
Spawn

World Eaters
Second Contemptor Dreadnought
Stormeagle
Terminators
Angron
Third Berzerker squad
kharn
Havoc squad
ADL

Celestial Lions
Initial starting force 600 points

Exorcists
Initial starting force 600 points

Tzeentch Daemons
Initial starting force 600 points

Skyrar's Dark Wolves
Grey Hunter Squad
Thunderwolf Cavalry

Sisters of Battle
Exorcist number two

Warmachine
Cygnar - initial force
khador - initial force

Sceneray
40k/Warmachine/Freebooters Fate

Of course everything is up for change and I have something planned to help me keep on track with painting the various armies but that's still a work in progress which I don't want to give away just yet. Although its failing miserably at the moment

I already have a list of armies for the year after as well.....

Red Scorpions
Eldar Biel-tan
Eldar - Corsairs
Dark Angels
Night Lords
Warmachine - Cryx
Hordes - Circle of Orboros
Freebooters Fate - All but one faction (Goblins)

That's my brain emptied for now

True, but when you accidentally rinse your paint brush in your Coke and drink out of your rinse water cup it's time to take break.

* I have no personal experience w/ the above example. Really. *

I've not had that happen to me yet, when I'm that tired I usually just do the building side and yes I've super glued my fingers to the models quite a few times.

Been working on one of the Raptors recently this is him with his bone armour finished the blues still need highlighting. I'm not sure whether to do the inside of the shoulder pads blue or not at this point in time.

I also finished the fourth objective marker for my dark Wolves its been sitting on my painting table for ages.

Thanks guys

Your right YB its from Scibor.

I forgot to say I might not actually put the wings on the Raptors as I think they look quite good without at the moment, thoughts on that would be good.

Just after I put these pics up the postman came and he had some bits I was waiting for from America for the Heldetta, so I went straight into action and got to this point.

The Las-cannons are all magnetized so it can function as both a Heldrake and Vendetta, there's also a LED inside as you will see below, more GS work still to do especially inside

The bumpy round bits on the front will be eyes, keep forgetting to say that!

I don't understand why everyone who chaos-ys a valk puts CHAINS ON THE WINGS.

Otherwise, looking SHARP!

I'd never really noticed the chains thing before, there was me thinking I was being original They just seem to fit perfectly and they are one of the only things you have left over from Rhino kits.

Objective marker is very well done. How did you get such and awesome 'weathered stone' effect?

I vote for blue inside the shoulder pads, will break up the bone color.

Thanks Skalk the weathered stone effect is quite simple its a black undercoat then dry brused Vallejo Heavy Charcoal and then a light brush of Vallejo Stonewall Grey finished with Vallejo Natural Umber pigments for the dirt effect.

Oh Skalk I'm working on some scenery as well at the moment, I blame you for that

They come with the bottom of the feet like that

Two votes for blue shoulder pads so blue they shall be.

Is that the Sang Guard legs? Or from the Raptor kit?
