I must admit I bought two Dark Vengeance box sets! I'm planning to use them for a nurgle too.

Nice weapon swap on that Chosen. Plasma Rifles are making a comeback I think. The whole "move and still shoot' Rapid Fire thing in 6th Ed finally makes them worth taking again.

Cheers guys here's the Nurgle lord that you saw ages ago, finally got round to finishing him. He will count as a lord on palanquin going forwards.

Skyrar's Dark Wolves went out for a tournament today didn't do too well though but I never expect anything with my gaming skills

Round 1 was vs Eldar first time I've played against these in a while the game went really well but he was able to outmanoeuvre me too much with his jet bikes, its hard work when you're entire army is in TDA on foot to catch the nippy little blighters.

Round 2 I was up against a guard tank line, I was tabled by turn three I cant do AV14, having to walk across the table to be able to do anything to them (12" combi melta range or chain fists), they didn't cut it and were all mown down.

Round 3 vs Necron's I managed to pull a big win this game not loosing any units, My lone wolf was an absolute star taking out a Monolith and a unit of spyders all by himself.

But I didn't walk away empty handed, oh no I managed to win best painted objective markers

Thanks guys I'm really proud of them.

Next Saturday the CSM army is out for its first tournament with the new codex, should be interesting just hope none of my characters turn into spawn or daemons as I wont have any models with me to represent them.

Smallish update today.

I received this toy for my Death Guard to play with



Oh yes it shall be heavily converted like my Death Guard Rhinos in fact this will be a step up from that think "It's Alive..." and you will get an idea of how far I'm going to try and convert it. I might even work it so it can be both a Vendetta and a Heldrake.

Just need to finish the Sisters first though before work can begin, towards the middle of November.

On another note I will be taking things a bit slower from now on as I'm on the verge of burn out I think due to working too much, I've only been allowed one weeks holiday so far this year and its catching up with me quite badly at the moment (I do a lot of extra work at silly times of the night as well) and with the pressure on to get the Sisters finished I'm not enjoying the hobby as much as I should be. Always feeling so tired

I will still be very active just trying to remove any pressure and deadlines for painting.

Saying all that I do have a list of things to do for the Death Guard next year already built up as follows.

You've seen the first of my Chosen I'll be doing a full unit of those

There's the Death Guard Imperial Guard allies including the Vendetta still not sure what type of HQ to use to go with a Veteran squad with Plasma Guns, any ideas?

Another unit of Plasma Plague marines has been added to the list.

Lastly a unit of Possessed which I have an excellent idea for but I'm not going to spoil it yet.

That should bring my Death Guard up to a nice size army by themselves I might add a termie unit for Typhus as well.

I'm also looking at a Avenger Strike Fighter for my Sisters as they seem rather good.

Other than that we will see how it goes might sneak a few non 40k models in as well to give me something different to paint.

A break is always good. I am currently taking 2 weeks off from painting!

A small bat rep from my tournament with my CSM yesterday.

Game 1 vs Raven Guard - I kind of messed up this game as we got confused about the mission layout and had already deployed objectives then realised it wasn't across the board but diagonals and I had just placed two objectives out side of my deployment zone. I had to try and go all the way around the board anti clock ways to avoid his troop heavy side. I got 3/4 of the way but failed to kick him off the last objective giving him the win.

Abaddon and his Berzerker squad took out 3 squads of marines in close combat this game (25 guys).

Game 2 vs Eldar - He had most of his points invested in a seer council jet bike death squad and a FW bomber plane. Well that seer council misjudged Abaddon's fitness while trying to take my Oblits from behind. I needed 10 to get into combat and got an 11, oh yes he munched his way through the entire squad farseer as well. I think there were 10 warlocks and the farseer. I also took out his bomber as soon as it arrived with the first shot at it from a plasma gun Plague Marine 6,6,6 and down she goes.

A win for me.

Game 3 vs CSM with daemon allies - A bizarre game that ended in a draw. The entire game was played in about a 12" square of the table on the left hand side. It was just one big brawl. He had a greater daemon of Nurgle come down in the middle and that took a lot to get rid of in the end my Plague CSM Lord took it out in close combat.

Abaddon managed to take out a squad of 10 Noise Marines and then got charged by a ton of Nuglings and spent the rest of the game in combat with them. His HQ got booned into a daemon Prince which was most impressive and Abaddon got a toughness increase to T6.

Over all a great day I was second place in the best painted army votes and 9th place overall out of 24 so not bad for me.

I took a few pics of some of the other armies as well, shocking that I remembered to take any shots I know!!!

A chaos update.......................

Been a while due to painting the Sisters but they are all finished for now and work has resumed on this very blog.

So my Heldetta for my Death Guard has started to pull itself together, yep its a Heldrake which will have magnetised weapons to also count as a Vendetta the main model is the Valkyrie oh yes now your confused

Todays task was making teeth, it didnt go as well as expected but then I'm not very good at sculpting. so this is what we have so far if you know of any monstrous creatures with a mouth / head that would fit on the nose of a vendetta please let me know, it will be easier in the long run

I haven't glued them on yet as I am hoping someone will know of an alternative I can use, if not the next part of the project is adding a rib cage to said best and fitting a red flashing light inside.

All the gs work will happen later.

I feel that the heldrake/vendetta will eat me in my sleep! well done. I am looking foward to more progress.

Thanks I'm not sure if I'm happy with them though. I think they need to be more straight and pointy.

What did you use to make them?

They are made from Sculpey. I might try and see if I can pick up some cocktail sticks tomorrow, using those at different lengths might work.

Done some more work on the Heldetta this morning, has new teeth which are much better, also gave it a proper mouth.

I need to order the FW Vendetta kit for it so I can magnetise the las cannons so it can also be a Vendetta for the guard allies. I think thats the next step I also might try ordering the ribs from the Zombie Dragon I'm hoping they will be the right size. Cant do much more until I get either of those parts now.











While I'm waiting for parts I have a random collection of minis to paint so keep an eye out on my various blogs as I have no idea whats going to be up next.

Today I have for you something for the World Eaters a lord with what will most likely be a Murder Sword.









I sold some of my older Thousand Sons stuff on ebay today as I'm sure I can do better now compared to when I started at the beginning of the this blog. The chosen are gone and will be replaced at some point, I have some nifty legs lined up from Anvil Industry, the Thousand Sons Vindi went as well which will be replaced by a World Eaters one in the same style as my other World Eaters Vindi including flashing gun.

I might sell the Raptors at some point as well, since painting my Exorcist I'm sure I can do a lot better with the gold armour now.
