Ha! I don't think I could handle you and Graven doing Nazi Space Nuns at the same time. I'd have to sell my collection and collect bottle caps instead.

Been a bit slow from my side lately was ill with the dreaded man flu this weekend and was just too out of it to do much painting, I'm still recovering now although I think its getting worse....

I did start my Fire Dragon squad though but didn't get far enough for any pics

I'm also trying to shift a few armies to bring in some much needed cash to fund future projects, if anyone is interested drop me a PM. I only usually post within the UK for armies but if your are a regular poster on my thread I'll also consider you as well

Weird update today for you, well a bit more than normal...

I've finished my Fire Dragon Squad not great pics in fact quite bad makes the models look ten times worse

I went back and painted over the blue on the test model, when the other four were up to that point I thought they looked better without.

The weird news is that it looks like one of my local tournaments is disappearing into the black void due to lack of support, sadly I cant get to location any more due to lack of transport at the moment.

My other local event is being taken over by a new person which I'm not too convinced about, I'm not sure if I will continue to go.

Which leaves me with no where to play ....

So I'm kind of left in an odd situation. I'm going to continue to paint as thats my favourite part of the hobby but might concentrate on doing it to sell models, I cant keep them all as I've run out of space as it is. I'm still edging away from outright commission painting as I'm not sure my skills are up for it. I will try some different types of models over the next few months to see what you think, aiming for table top quality at a minimum with everything going forward (I always paint to the best of my ability and wouldn't do anything less).

Thanks for reading my ramble

Very sorry to hear the sitrep Gir. Having a good place to play with a fun opponents is important, even for those of us for whom the hobby is the most important aspect. You certainly paint to a standard that could garner commissions, and you can have some say in what commissions you accept. Not trying to push you in that direction, but I think you could do it if you wanted. Trick would be finding the right price-point & emphasizing those things you do really well.

Thanks for the vote of confidence Git's.

I have been underselling all the stuff I put on ebay for sale. I've generally been asking for the price of the models again on top of the models. I'd be scared to work out what I've been earning an hour I'm not too worried at the moment though as it keeps the models flowing across my painting table and is good practice.

Yeah, I generally find it hard to part with models I've painted...

Marine swaps broke my heart each & every time, even if I got wonderful models for them...

But if you can paint for money, well you most probably have the skill to do so !!

So all the best for you !!

As for the tourney problem... Well, can't you keep in touch with one of the few nice lads that you met over there ?

Just a quick update to say there wont be any updates for the next few weeks, we have builders in at the moment and all my painting stuff is buried under piles of stuff and the room where I normally paint is like a freezer like most of the house at the moment.

I didn't bury my computer though so I'll still be checking up on what you are all upto on your blogs

Funny you should say that well today...

Na I spent the weekend sorting out my music on itunes ready for the big upload to Amazon so I can play it on my Kindle via their cloud service (its the only thing with enough space), currently I have 56 days worth of music, it might take a weekend just to upload that much

I'm back

The Giraffe household is back to normal and painting has commenced once again

So while I wasnt updating my blog I had a few supply drops you might want to have a gander at.

The first is a paint drop

Not included was a Army painter Dragon red spray can, I need something to make painting World Eater vehicles quicker as there's a few in the pipeline. Testing is in progress as its a slightly lighter red.

In this batch we have paints for the Exorcists, Sons of Horus and Hawk Lords plus lots of nice P3 reds and flesh tones, more on that later.

Next up I managed to bag a bargain on ebay and picked up a small Warmachine khador force to paint up and sell on. They are all based and primed at the moment, the plastic they are made from is terrible though.

Painting news yesterday I finished a vampiress for ebay the skin tone was supposed to look like she's one of the undead but it doesn't look that great. I'm trying to fight my disability at painting flesh tones at the moment, its something thats really bugging me.

Lastly for todays update is a better pic of those Fire Dragons in daylight

Next up is a Biel-Tan warlock who just needs a few finishing touches, then I'll do the Farseer looking forward to painting that model. After that I'm diving in to the khador force.

My 40k ideas are on overdrive at the moment so somethings going to surface soon in a big way.

Good to see the Giraffe household is back to normal and the madman painting machine is cranked back up.

Nice paint drop. It reminds me that I'm overdue to replace a few colors.

Regarding the Army Painter red, have you tried a red wash over it? Not sure if it will make the difference you are looking for but it was the first thing that came to mind. My only experience w/ those kinds of paints was in the 90's when GW released spray cans of Ultramarine Blue, etc. It was a bit 'dusty' and took paint very well. I used a lot of it on my Genestealer Cult and Tyranid forces with good results.

Why are Vamp's always busty hot? No plain 'ol women in the Old World? Ha. The pic of her isn't zoomable so I can't comment one way or another on the skin, but overall it looks well done.

The Eldar look bright and clean. I'm convinced that Eldar armor would still look clean even if they took a header right into a mud hole.

Great work as always.
