Well hello ladies and gentlemen! I have lots of shots today for your critique and viewing pleasure! but you can't look!... Oh No No!..... if you scroll down and look at my post you must promise to do me a favor? I need some input on camo again so I need a little bit of advice and direction!
....O.k so now we're here, about an inch down the post...... not much happening eh!
ENOUGH FOOLING AROUND DAMO! I hear you cry!
alright here's where I am at the moment, I've started the tanks, I stuck some baggage and rolls on them and then gave them a coat of metal primer to start the base for the chipping that will show through the paint later on.

after the primer dried, I mixed some orange/brown and old GW Flesh Wash and water together and washed all the vehicles with it so the metal still had a sheen under the wash,

next step was to grab some boltgun metal and overbrush the whole tanks again, this kind of blends the rusty brown with a more recent damage colour, lastly I used a small amount of mithril silver mixed in.

after waiting for the washes to dry I then used sponge and sponged on some Humbrol liquid mask to be the chipping on the hulls, after it dried overnight I mixed some white glue and fine ballast together and roughly stippled it on the lower parts for dirt and grit, I want them to look weathered and dirty but not totally caked in mud and muck I popped them outside to dry faster and then I got to the good bit! PRIMER! after i coated them with a nice even coat of Desert Yellow Army Painter Primer I really like the progress and look!

Now this leads me to the input I ask of you I have the base coat done and now need to add my stripes of my main other camo colour? but what one to use? I've decided on Vallejo Air 'Sand' as my lighter colour for squiggles and small dots etc. (whatever I decide on) but the big stripes on the tanks and splotches on the fatigues?
I took a pic of the primer lid with my options on it, So, there's the dark red at the top of the pic, the green in the middle and the red brown at the bottom, I added a little of the sand colour so you can see the contrasts I'm going for with the camo design!
can't wait to do more now! so as soon as i get a firm hold on the next step I'll whip it up fast!

Tanks look good. I really like the cloth hanging on the front of the turret of one of them, did you make that yourself?
As for the camo'; yeah the red/brown would be very interesting, but I would probably make it a little more brown, just a touch. If it's your "dark" part of the camoflage it could do with being a little less vibrant. But that's what I'd do anyway. Maybe you could then highlight with the slightly "redder" red/brown then...

The dark red seems strangely watered down for some reason.
I think I ilke the green the best.
Simply because it's something new^^
(and maybe because my own IG has exactly the dark brown camo on them.. XD)
also nice details work on the tanks

Oh, red camo for sure!
Im imagining hes going to use either water and a sponge, or thinner to remove the tan paint randomly. Doing that will expose the colors underneath showing wear and tear on the tanks.

Hey guys! looks like the overwhelming support is for the Red/Brown ! and to be honest I was hoping it would swing that way although I wanted to get some input which I appreciate greatly!
and yep, the metal steps on the tanks was really pretty quick and easy and Dave (as I would expect!) got it right all I did was assemble them then prime them with metal primer which takes no time at all, then a watery wash and a big brush for the orange and the same brush for the metal overbrush, and it will indeed be the basis for the weathering, I stippled on some liquid mask to pull off after I've done my airbrush camo stripes! I could have just done the lower half if I was only chipping the bottom, but with IG tanks I wasn't actually sure where I was going to chip it so I went over the whole tank even though the chipping isn't going to be extensive.
all the additions for the tanks I got online, and no sadly I don't have the skills to make such a fine looking tarp for the turret it was bought with the rest of the bits and i trimmed some of the corners off to shorten it to fit, which it does perfectly!
so now i have the colours down for the camo, what design shall i aim for? any pics that people have seen or prefer?
see you tonight!

Ah, fair enough. It does indeed fit perfectly, that's why I asked if you'd made it. Good find.
For camo inspiration the internet is your friend. However, I can throw you a good picture I found that has many varieties and should be good for inspiration.
I am a fan of the typical wavy blob camoflage you get as an option on most real world military models.
