Baal'sak is looking amazing love all the pulsating veins, you can really tell you enjoyed painting him.

Spurt'aan is looking really good so far as well, I think all that hard work on smoothing out the tentacles really paid off.

Did you notice there's not a hair in sight on my Baal'Sak which is my it has divided so many of you!

and it looks like a couple of hours and i've pretty much got the filigree done on Spurt'aan! looks good and will look better when he's done and all the parts come together nicely

Yes, I do use an airbrush but only VERY basically my method of madness is use Army Painter Primer for my base colour then my dodgy old airbrush to only shade the darker parts I want, everything else is washes and brushes, the washes connect the two shades and the details bring it home!

I hope you can see what i'm doing on Spurt'aan? took a few pics to try and show you all.....






any ideas if or where I should add a darker or lighter shade to the designs on him? or am I in danger of going ott? and I should wait until he's all done for an opinion?

Oh good! thanks nOt_u I was a little worried the design wasn't sharp enough at this stage? but if I keep going I reckon I can stuff it pretty quick lol! in fact it was reading your thread that made me decide on a few parts for my army :-) when you were talking about the golds and i mentioned the pale gold! it kinda clicked for me and I now will do that as the banding on the big beastie!

I may try glowy purple eyes too.......

now I need ideas for Maulerfiend number 2? poses conversions etc? come on guys I know you want to encourage me! and anyone got a handle on those tentacles I need? i'm still struggling to find any online! and I have money burning a hole in my wallet

Freehand looks great. Really good. Pale gold will go very well with it.

Pale (glowing, cold, ice-white) blue for the eyes.

Mix up some PVA with ivory paint and trail the mixture on the finished base for some ...milky ...discharge.
