Pacific wrote:Well, my order wasn't broken down like that - I was given an extra (minimal) bill for shipping on top of the VAT I had paid as part of the order, but my bill was a normal one and according to it I was charged for VAT. I'm not sure if that differs from how you usually operate, but I can assure you that was what I received.
Hence my request for transparency, and a broken down list of what the bill actually included. Of course I was under no illusions that the P&P to the opposite side of the world would be the 8 pounds or so, but in any case I would have preferred:
- total cost of items
- minus 20% Vat
- total shipping cost.
- item total
And I didn't mean to imply that your website is anything other than legit - I've used you many times in the past without complaint. But, you could see how someone could think that if they don't received an itemised bill of what they are paying for, and they are not 100% sure where there money is going.
Anyway, that's just my thoughts on it, if I ordered from you again it would be the kind of system I would prefer.
Sorry Pacific that isnt going to happen the cost of shipping when left un subsidiesd would scare most customers off, we tried it early on and it is a perceptions thing. The total price paid is the critical point here.
Pacific, if you have entered a non EU country in our cart system, it isnt capable of showing you VAT, so I would be interested in looking at your order, can you let me know the order number or your name etc (you can PM me) so I can see what happened. Is your billing address different from your delivery address?

I have to say I stopped using Wayland games as there service was terrible.....still have not received that Khorne Lord on Jugger that I ordered a couple years back, No credit or any responses to the queries. THe paint I ordered for next day delivery that was in stock, arrived over a week late with still the next day delivery charged, their excuse out of stock...yeah right, third order half missing although they did manage to replace the missing items, but their inability to count beyond 1, oh dear me.

I have no records of unanswerd issues like you mention. How about letting me know your name via PM so I can check. To say we dont respond is just not correct at all.

I agree with those saying Wayland Games, Australia's pricing on GW models is ridiculous!!!!! Wayland Games provides nearly a 50% discount in comparison to a local gaming store. Eg. A land raider at my LGS is $100, at Wayland its like 45-55, or around the 50 mark....HUGE SAVINGS!!!
I purchased from there a few weeks ago, ordered about 2000 points worth of SM and 1000 Chaos, order was cheap, shipping can be done through courier which takes i think 3 days, Standard is fine and I had the order by the 10th business day (I say by the 10th day because it game in 2 separate shipments)
WAYLAND GAMES!!! Clearly the way to go.
Id also like to add that there customer support is quick to respond and is very helpful.

Rich, seeing as you're checking in on this thread..
With GW metals disappearing from online stores, I appreciate you having Direct Only items listed. Even with your extra markup, they're still a good saving over prices here. Would you entertain the idea of special ordering some of the Direct Only items that you don't already have listed? I'm thinking certain 40k blisters, as well as maybe Blood Bowl teams/Star Players, etc.
And also, would you consider stocking Foundry minis?

New user, 2 posts just to slag out on Wayland?
Im no fan of Maelstrom, but I can admit that the savings were worth a bit of hassle.
Havent actually compared their pricing with Wayland, but I know that maelstrom include postage in the pricing for large orders, which mine are.
hence, 55% AUS RRP, with no additional costs.

For plastics, try dicebucket. They're US based, so aren't affected by the embargo.
You can't get Finecast/metal models from them, only plastics, but that's par for the course now. Finecast and metals we're limited to second hand or local.

Combat Company are pretty good. I've used them twice in the past, had no problems. They are much cheaper than retail and they also chucked in some extra stuff like a lanyard and a card which gave me 5% off future purchases (though your experiences may vary).

If you buy a fair bit at once, Discount Games Store on ebay do some great deals and I've found it hard to find anything cheaper.
They also throw in some nice extras, my last order had 3 Monsterous Creatures and they threw in 3 large oval Alien Invasion resin bases for free.
It gets sent from America so shipping can take a little while. They have an express post option which can come as quick as a week but often takes a few days more than that from my experience.
They've made a couple of mistakes with orders in the past but to their credit they always fix it up quickly and often throw in a couple of freebies for the troubles (good freebies as well, like whole extra units).
I also use the combat company quite often, for any smaller orders I make, and they are very good. They post quick and get the order right every time so far. I haven't had a need to look anywhere else when I order within Australia.

I despise this embargo!
I have found that a few of the american ebay stores can be quite cheap for bitz/single models - However international shipping has gone up in the US of A: its still cheaper than bying locally but not as much of a saving as it once was.
I need a chinese site for cheap GW! I order everything else from there!

Maybe you should look at the timestamps.
As an aside, any chance anyone knows of places that'll ship to Japan? Bitz Barn are apparently having issues at the moment and dicebucket tries to charge me $9999 shipping, which I think means they don't ship here.

This but then again I also have the benefit or buying a troop box and turning half of them into Rune Priests, Wolf Priests, PA Wolf Guard and Wolf Lords if I really want to so I don't have to worry about metals.

With the current trade policies forbidding stores from selling outside their region, there are far fewer options from overseas.
Milsims (based in Melbourne) offer a standard 20% off Oz prices, which is better than a slap in the face with a wet fish.
Otherwise, eBay is still an option.

They are in New Zealand so it's quick and cheap shipping, a small across the board discount but LOTS of sales (40% off all Knight miniatures atm because they feel like it), amazing customer service and they include a lollipop with all orders (along with discount vouchers for your next purchase).

Fafnir wrote:Oh, I certainly vote with my dollar, but the problem is that that is not enough. The problem with the 'vote with your dollar' response is that it doesn't take into account why we're not buying the product. I want to enjoy 40k enough to buy back in. It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that. |

Slave to Painting are just brilliant. Ordered a few things like paints and such and the lollipop paintbrush they send you with your order is delicious ^.^ Their random sales are also pretty awesome and have often lent to a buying impulse from me. Large selection of models from GW and Infinity and other model groups as well as a lot of hobby goodness kept all in the one location.

Big thread necro. Discount Games Store is the best place to buy for Aussies from what I've seen. They do standard 25% off US RRP, with periodic bundle deals with an extra ~5-6% off US RRP. Some bundle deals are on their facebook page. Email them ( docdiscountgames A.T. gmail.com )for their price lists, they send you a paypal invoice, pay, receive your loot 2-3 weeks later at ~50% or better discount over Aus RRP. They sell the new space marine megaforces for $177 - they cost $350 in Aus, and have $495 Aus RRP worth of models in them. Yeah... that's some good savings ; p
