Been going through Birdy the Mighty: Decode for a little while now. It's pretty good. Birdy's a fun character and Tsutomu has a surprising amount of spine for an anime lead male. The body switching dynamic's handled really well and the sci-fi's a lot of fun.

Can anyone identify this anime for me? It was something I watched when I was younger, it was some variety of magical girl show, all about this girl who had to track down these rogue magical cards that had turned into creatures, and turn them back into cards. She had a wand with a golden bird's head that later turned into a wand with a golden star at the end. She also had this little hamstery rabbitty thing called Kimo (or something) and to get out of some situations she could transform the cards temporarily into the creatures to help her.

It's worth your time for sure! I enjoyed the hell out of Birdy.
Up next for me is a rewatch of Neon Genesis Evangelion because I just got the oop Platinum Collection box set at Nan Desu Kan in Denver this weekend, mixed in with finishing up Gun X Sword and possibly a run through of Outlaw Star.
I also need to get around to watching an episode or two of Sailor Moon at some point just to refresh my memory as we move towards the upcoming reboot.

Just watched the first of the two Gurren Lagann "movies". It's the series up thru right after taking out the generals and before they take on Teppen. Don't care for how they rewrote the fight with the generals myself. Made it seem more contrived and less overcoming odds myself.

I personally didn't care all that much for the first Gurren Lagann movie. The second one is just balls to the wall awesome all throughout, but I feel that the plot of the TV show is much much more solid than the movies. The movies just seem to be about being manly and not much else. The only thing the movies did a good job of was clearing up all of Kamina's ridiculous lines which weren't really touched upon in the show.

No, it really wasn't. It was bowdlerized half to death, with all the (completely innocent and non explicit) same-sex relationships taken out, plot points were missed, the dub set it in America but forgot to take out Japanese signs and TOKYO TOWER...Goddamnit.
Saying that, I hate dubs. I much prefer viewing it in the original language with English subtitles. Hetalia is the only thing I have ever seen with a decent dub.

Also, subs vs dubs is like books vs a movie. Dubs are easier to watch because you don't have to read it and can be doing or other things or even just take your eyes off it for a minute without missing something. The book/sub is usually better though.

Watched both and its pretty amusing how both series change from eachother through episodes
Both were dubbed, but seemed fine to me.
Funnily enough, i was looking for the guiver series since i havent seen that in some time now and found that instead.
