Wow, I love the work you are doing here. So many evil spikey death machines, each one a master piece.

wow.... you know, I always thought, that painting the war machines wasn´t as important as the individualism... they should get a big prize for Conversions on the Golden Demon (and give you the first prize for the first 5 years by the way XD )

Especially the Kaban Engine looks great although for the heck of it I can´t see which part you used for the bottom... can you tell me / us, how you created this work of genius?

The rest is great too to some degree. The Model of Helbrute sucks so bad, I can´t see anything worthwhile coming out of it. Your second helbrute is great, although I would see this more of an Ork Machine. But oh well

My local gaming club has started a new 40k Skirmish project, 200 points, in which you make a warband using any entries from any codex, to make a cool and individual warband. I immediately opted for Slaanesh, since I wanted to do chaos, but in a new style and paint scheme. Here's the warband so far:

Daemonettes (Based on the new Witch Elves):

Noise Terminator:

Warp Talon (Needs to be repainted - not satisfied with the look)

Noise Champ with doom siren:

Noise Marines (Based on DV chosen with Warp Talon shoulder pads)

The whole warband:

Still needing to make and decide on some kind of beast at around 12-18 points - any ideas, comments and suggestions (esp. the paint scheme) are welcomed.

Mate, your capability for world class conversions is just off the charts. Freaking amazing!

I was pretty sure those Witch Elves would make for great Slaaneshi conversion fodder, although I probably would have gone with the Sisters of Slaughter over the regular gals. Still looks great, though!

For the Marines, it's hard to pick a favourite, since they're all so cool. That guy looking like Lucius the Eternal takes the cake though: Where'd you get that head?

That leaves only Tzeentch to take care of, and then you can run the most fabulous 4-gods-army ever witnessed by man...

P.S. Can you do me a favour and not do anything with the Space Marine Centurions for a while yet? I'd like to be able to look at my conversions of them and tell myself they're pretty cool, so seeing you converting them definitely wouldn't help...

Thanks a lot!

The guy that's looking like Lucius is VERY inspired by Lucius. The head is from the Ghoul King from the Zombie Dragon kit, I've been saving it for a special conversion, and here it was. I just cut of the ears and the nose (like the witch elves).

Don't worry about the Centurions - I just had a look at your work, and mate, you NAILED it. You took a horrible kit and made it cool - very nice work. Only thing missing, IMO, is some trims on the legs, which you could do with some greenstuff.

As a follower of slaanesh myself i just have to scream out in appreciation for your models. Great conversions.

One questions, where are the speakers of the terminator from? I'm looking for fitting pieces to kit out my sonic marine backpacks for a while now and those are looking great. Forgeworld maybe?

Thanks a lot for the kind words - lots of greenstuffing today, but I have a good feeling about this project.

Wow, I think I may like your Slaanesh models more than your Khorne or Nurgle ones, and that's saying something!

Out of curiosity, how are you running the the skirmish project? Is it just Kill Team with no restrictions, or have you come up with house rules for it?

You can never beat your first time. The second generation is shinier, stronger, faster and superior in every regard save one, and it's an unfair criticism to level, but it simply can't be as original. - Andy Chambers, on the evolution of Games Workshop games

Thanks a lot!

I've gotten a bit further - even though it doesnt look like much, greenstuffing and detailing is quite time consuming - especially since I want this warband to end up as display quality.

The champ has gotten a sword more fitting for a Slaanesh worshipper and greenstuffed his back-organ:

The terminator has had a lookover on the gun, a "speaker chestplate" to bulk him up some more, and a more Slaaneshi speaker - the old one was too nurgly:

The noise marines had some greenstuffing done on the backpacks, so they don't look so "cobbled together", greenstuff on the bodies (the chosen have some strange indents and stuff that needs to be hidden when converting), and bajonets on the sonic blasters:

Starfarer: It's pretty much 6th ed. 40k, with added bottle tests, pinning, down from Necromunda, and no restrictions, at 200 pts. It's very unbalanced, but lots of fun!

The new additions are making those great models even better.
One thing that i'd rework though is the attachment hoses of the additional cables on the sonic blaster. At least give it a quick sanding or maybe add more details to it like another thin layer to break with the "larger" surfaces.
Also connect the one cable on the backpack of the noise marine on the right to something. It must be sad with only be connected on one side.

Just freakin' cool. I love the way you're weaving a Slaaneshi feel into the noise marines' Space Marinery (if you follow me). This stuff looks sick and twisted in an entirely authentic way.

And the craftsmanship is, as always, superb.

Thats all i really have to say is wow. Great conversions and seamless green stuff work. I feel unworthy.

One question. Are you mixing the ratio of GS so that there is a bit more yellow than blue, or is that an artifact of the photography.?

The old one? I just didn't think it fit all that well, being a stylized nurgle symbol and all.

Thanks! It's my secret weapon. Several times GD Winner, sculptor extraordinaire and friend of mine, Tue Kaae, taught me that - I mix 1 part greenstuff with 2 parts milliput (standard) - it retains all of the great qualities of both materials, with none of the bad - it has improved my sculpting by at least 200%, and is SO much easier to get nice results with. I wholeheartedly recommend you try it. Much easier to get crisp results, and smoothes nicely using water. Also, it dries much harder than greenstuff, without being brittle like milliput, and sands very easily as well. I can't say enough great things about it.

I second the Milliput GS mix. I use it myself. It can be a bit tricky to get into as it has less room for errors than GS but it is an improvement over both unmixed putties. And as milliput is rather cheap you'll even save money.
